Carlos bass lines were so INTEGRAL to that whole album. WELL PLAYED!!!!
I read in an interview that they briefly considered "Celebrated Basslines of the Future" as the album title instead of Turn on the Bright Lights. It's insane that Carlos went from never playing bass guitar before to writing those baselines on TOTBL.
Their debut and arguably one of their best albums wouldn't be much without Carlos
After he left they never made another song I loved
@@SS-gx7tg From what I heard, it was Daniel Kessler who composed the basslines too, not Carlos but I can tell he's my favorite bass player
and most of early interpol songs, Paul Banks only wrote the lyrics and probably helped a little with the harmony
When this album was released, I only listened to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Radiohead and it.

I loved those first 3 albums so damn much. Cooled on them considerably since, and only recently found out Carlos D had left them after Our Love To Admire. Explains why I never loved anything by them since.

Carlos Eduardo Enciso Parra thanks! For Paul’s part I mostly just used tabs that were out there like Songsterr’s. He just varies up the chord figure a little bit towards the beginning.
