This is probably too late to mention but I think it only makes sense that Natsu can't eat his own flames. Because if you think about it, if he has a certain amount of magic energy that he can use, then creating flames would use some of that magic energy. So eating his own flames would just give him back the energy he used to create the flames. So... yeah that's what I think makes sense
He can eat fire... not humans.. Ace has the ability to turn into fire at any point.. but he can also go back to human and if natsu did eat ace... when ace dies... his body would go back to human anyway... and natsu would burst.

It would really not change the end result. Because the current Natsu is way above the one portrayed in this video.
Now, the Natsu from this video vs Sabo, that could be debated. But we still need more info on Sabo. Both Sabo and Fujitora where not trying hard in there battle, so we can't really scale his peak yet. We will have to wait. I understand your struggles man. I can see why they did not give ace haki though. Because ace never featured any feats with haki so we cannot really use it. I know, we know he must have some type but we have no evidence of haki use other than from when he was a child.

The thing about Natsu not being able to eat his own fire makes sense though. I mean, and hear me out, would eating a sandwich, taking it back out of your stomach, and eating it again make you any fuller than before.

7:23 It's like putting gas in your car. If you get it from a different source, the amount of gas will increase. But if you drain your car's gas, just to use that same gas to fill it up again it wouldn't make a difference (you might even lose some)
