Both coaches of those respective schools are close friends, but both were in their final seasons of coaching. So instead of a coin toss, they had their sons (who happen to be players) play Rock Paper Scissors. It's dumb on the surface, I'll agree. But with proper context and knowing why, it's actually a nice gesture.
