Imperialstar is supposed to be an "entry level" kit. The takeaways are that Tama is quality at every level and talent, more than anything else, makes equipment sound great. Beautiful kit, excellent drumming, and a great video.
With some good heads pretty much every kit will sound great cymbals is different premium b20’s difference in n reality to the rest is huge. Though Tama does offer nice hardware for the price which is good for longevity. Buy a tama imperial star, put some Remo ambassador head in your snare, Evans EC2 on your toms and Evans EMAD2 on your bass, buy some nice premium cymbals like A’s, K’s from zildjian or paiste and you pretty much have a professional kit that will sound great. Yeah you can go for expensive toms and snare but the price that you will pay for it doesn’t really gives you a massive boost it’s not really worth the money but hey if you are a real musician and you have the money than go for it but it’s not really needed to have a professional sound buying premium cymbals and Remo/Evans heads will get you the professional sound.

I requested an 18 inch floor tom and Tama made it. I waited 7 months but i have it now. It was the previous imperial star range though but give it a go with your supplier. I even have an 8 inch imperial star…

Honestly most entry level kits also sound good with good heads and tuning, but Tama has some of the best entry level hardware I’ve seen.
Mapex can give Tama a run for their money, in my humble opinion. I've played both.

Snare and bass drum sound lovely, but could have spent more time on the rack and floor toms, so i could get a better overall sound for the kit.
