- Used two quadcopters to inspect a cell phone tower. First went up and got video all around, then went around and got photos of specific items. If you're interested in hiring me for cell phone tower or other high object inspections in the southeast, contact me through the website at TheBuzzAbove.com .

This is very informative, thank you for making this.
How did you add the elevation and other items to the video?
Tremendous video!! What type of cameras did you use?
The two quadcopters you used, where both Phantom 2 Vision+? It looks like you had zoom on the cameras. What type of cameras did you use?
Will the tower companies such as American tower, and SBA allow you to use the Drone for inspection if it is a third party vendor wanting to inspect their equipment on the tower?
what drone did you use? how'd you get into this? who did you contact?
How did you get the heading to display??
how come u got close into thwe tower w/o interferrance from ur signal?
How did you get the altitude on the video?
I would like to start using my phantom 2 v2 for roof inspections, bridges, power lines, pipe lines, and what your doing, cell phone towers. How do you know how much to charge for the various types of jobs?
First step is getting a 333 and then amending your COA to allow you more than 200ft. Each job you will be bidding against other technology so figure out what they charge and do just a bit less.
Is there any way to zoom in and get small inspection items like RET/antenna serial numbers?
+biloxipilot ya man
base station carrier power on or off ?
It’s at&t. Powered up. The WiFi from the drone is not an issue with the radio frequency from the antennas. But stay away from am fm towers. They will fry the drones mother boards.
Do you know for certain whose cell site this is? My guess is AT&T.
+Mr. Krabs Choking to Death Most likely AT&T has an agreement with Crown Castle. Crown Castle likely owns the physical tower itself and leases it out to customers.
Smikket Abito Yeah of course. That's why I said cell site and not cell tower.
This doesn't effect the quads at all interference wise?
This particular cell tower appeared to have zero effect on the performance of the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ quadcopter. The drone responded quickly and there was no video degradation whatsoever.
Matt S I've never experienced any radio interference with my inspections.

me hubsan will point away from the tower and my range is low
The tower could be on low tower for the inspection. On top of that drones and 4G polarized oscillators are not related to the type of waves that drones use to communicate
What does a typical inspection cost?
Jon Car for me it depends on location, airspace, time one site, video or just photos. There are a lot of factors in cost.
failed inspection! flagging tape all over, no support within 18 inches, overlapping flat washer on groundbars and hanging ret cables :D
you block part of the gps info but its pointless as you can use heading and altitude to find the spot clos buy then use the last number of the gps info to get closer then look up towers in that aeria and find the tower all witch matters less as its just a tower. yes I am just a nut who likes to point info out.
vorkev1 that's false.
