The Patek Philippe watch is my only luxury dream item too, and I am ok with just dreaming about having one

I do that with many travel destinations. I like to have something to look forward. I am, like you, also fine if it will stay just a dream.. it's ok not to have everything we want :)

Tiny expensive bags that can't even carry a phone... what for? Just to stand out. It's making the point of, "I can spend this much money on something that I don't even need", flex. That's not to say that all luxury items are useless. If you have the money, why can't you use something that's more well made and that will last longer, a car that's more relaxing, a home that's more comfortable. But huge logos and being someone's advertising board is the last thing I want to do, let alone pay to do so.

Real luxury brands don't put big logos or even logos at all. Zuckerberg's shirts are 375 USD a pop, no logo and plebs think they are just regular shirts. Real luxury is silent. Real luxury brands won't ever be most valuable companies because they just can't have that volume, if you sell too much you ain't exclusive enough anymore, even items that don't have to be exclusive I.e. Zuck's shirts, they are not well known. It's also not only about brand but also quality. I don't know about Brunello's, but man can you tell the difference between regular cotton, Pima cotton and more upscale fabrics. Regular cotton feels like rags after you get to wear nicer clothing (I've only got a few better quality pieces, most of my clothing is pretty cheap low quality stuff). You can get the same for much cheaper, but it's a combination of both, a niche high end company only you and you club knows, and quality. Most popular "luxury" brands are very low quality compared to truly high end stuff. There's also a luggage company, I don't recall the name, lifetime warranty, full leather luggage. The thing is, paying high price for low quality brand names is definitely stupid, paying even higher price for much better stuff that might either last many many times more, or be much better in some other way may not be.

What about items that are purchased for the item?
I have a luxury watch and it's the most comfortable watch i've ever owned. It's that comfortable that i wear it practically 24/7.
I have many watches from $20 to $8000, and it's the non-luxury watch that i wear for an occasion.

Good for you, I have one branded watches and next day I accidentaly smashed them over the wall and the glass cracked. Not sure how someone can see watches as investment and wear them daily since it definitely didn't work for me 😂 I am not against craftsmanship, rather for overpriced goods

Victoria´s Secret is not luxury or a fashion house. Victoria´s Secret is a lingerie house for middle class people that want a little bit of the "luxury" taste with a much lower price tag (affordable luxury). On the other side, there is Agent Provocateur, a luxury lingerie brand! You cannot compare the art you see at fashion shows of the luxury houses with a lingerie company that sells sexuality and sensuality only (and only lingerie). You cannot compare a Ready to Wear luxury house that sells clothes, bags, shoes, sunglasses to a lingerie brand that is not luxury and sells only lingerie and poor quality perfumes and trinkets.... You cannot compare an ultra luxury watch brand with the ready to wear brands (that many have haute couture lines also) that only sells watches. Your opinion and vision of marketing is super influenced by your own tastes and not represent the true reality. Also, you cannot compare the product that reaches the end consumer and is displayed in stores of the luxury world, because luxury fashion houses rarely have over the top creations that we saw in their fashion shows. This type of product are only in some selected boutiques or ateliers of "haute couture". The product displayed in stores is only the most commercial and "wearable" part for the consumer. And no, an Ikea bag has nothing to do with a Nike sports bag and a Nike sports bag has nothing to do with an exquisite travel bag with noble finishes like those from Lous Vuitton. You are comparing completely different materials and products that offer different styles for different occasions. In that order, when you go to an event or a wedding, wear a Nike tracksuit... And Gucci, Prada, Chanel and Hermès are not LVMH brands!

I agree, that this video is completely influenced with my own logic. Yes ikea bag, nike bag and travel bag have all have something to do with it self. Hint is in the name. It's a bag. It whole purpose is to carry stuff so I can compare that. Would I travel with Ikea bag? Probably not. Does most of Ukranians I see now in Europe travel with them. Yes. So then it's really about comfort and status and by the material cost, the comfort is represented only in 10 % of the luxury bags price. I am ok with anyone buying expensive/luxury things. I just want people to know what they buy and if they are ok with that, then go ahead and buy it. I am glad however, someone like you (clearly from the industry) came and clear out some information and shared points of view. My whole point is we give luxury brands way too much attention, its one of the most valued companies which is just unreal to me. It's ok to have different points of views. Thanks for your input.
