    Thanks for the in-depth review. Fully agree on your complaint they didn't use the sandblasted finish on that LTD model. Still would pick it over the Schecter, just because S over T. As for no cases, I think LTD has trouble with rising prices and competing with even cheaper Chinese models like the Harley Bentons and such. They are probably really trying to keep those models below a certain price point.

    If I recall correctly, SN refers to Snapper which is what ESP calls their "strat" shape guitars.

    My favorite is the Schecter in this comparison. I have had some issues with Schecter guitars, with the machine heads, tone and volume knobs... But I think I have to try this baritone.

      @@robertdonosobuchner3129I wouldn’t hold things like pots and tuning keys against a guitar company as a whole. Those things are external peripherals.
      I order bulk CTS pots which are top notch and there are always a couple duds in the batch. Simple replacement and less than $15 US.
      So I would assume when dealing with mass production it would happen occasionally.
      There are tons of great options for replacement tuning keys too.
      Check out everything that any company makes if it speaks to you

    ive been eyeballing the LTD for sure, I wonder if its got routing in it for a neck pickup under that pick guard, on the fence between this and a baritone 7 string

      @GearStuffandThings  4 месяца назад

      thanks for checking the video out pal! If you are in the market and looking at the SN I would go with one of the 7 string options. You will get more bang for your buck IMO. That being said I hope you get something you love!

    I own the PT EX. It is a sophisticated take on a baritone and is very versatile. The pasedena pickups are killer and Schecter USA pickups overall I have tried are just top notch. I am hoping that baritones are going to make a resurgence in the market. Jackson just released a bunch. We’ll see.

    Have you ever tried the PRS 277? If so, how would you compare the PRS to the Schecter PT EX? I am currently deciding between the two

    I own the sn1 baritone and I can’t get it to stay in tune …. Had it set up twice and at this point I question if the tuners are worth a shit …..(thinking about having an Evertune installed and obviously new tuners)
    I’m seriously thinking about buying the pt ex and am wondering if you would be willing to tell me if it’s actually worth it long term … love the guitar just don’t want to have to double the price to enjoy it

      I preferred the PT EX over the SN-1B by miles honestly. I still have the PT and use it regularly. It’s a much better instrument than the LTD in this case. The plus side is the Sn-1B is worth more so you could sell it and buy a PT with money to spare. PT all day!

    Great video!
    I have one question:
    What string gauge you guy think is good for use in a baritone guitar 27scale in Drop A#?
    I’m using today on Low E 072 and the rest of strings the rest of my 062 packet and I really feel is very hard to reach a good tone using a low E string 072 (it’s very muddy and I need to work a lot to remove the low frequencies on the AMP/EQ to solve).
    In other hand, if I use a 062 Low E String, I feel the note when I play hard semitone a lot (I use this 062 on my PRS SE Standard 24”).
    So, I want to hear your opinion . I’m think to change the strings for a new packet of 068 and see if works good is the best of two words.

      @@PedroHenrique-ef7fp hi there. 64-68 tends to be great for Ab on a 27! Thanks a ton for watching

      72 is deff way to much specially if your just goin a half step down. You’ll get better results w something around the 64ish range I wouldn’t go above 68. Personally preference But should clear up a lot of that mud from your tone.

    ive been eyeing the schecter for almost a year now, what did you change the strings or anything? ive been wanting to buy one on sweet water and see the strings are .10-.46 and was wondering if you changed the strings at all

    • @GearStuffandThings
      @GearStuffandThings  3 месяца назад +1

      @@mcmenace9 Sweetwater description is not correct at all. The Schecter had a 13-62 baritone light Daddario string set on it.
      I swapped for 14-68 which is my preferred string set for baritone

    I’m surprised by the Schecter. I don’t know why but that brand has never appealed to me. It sounded good though. I do love baritone guitars and am a sucker for a Tele. The block inlays and the black binding? Yeah man. Worth considering for sure. Now if they could make a better looking head stock. Superficial maybe but I likes what I likes.
