  • Early morning photo shoot to explain Wabi Sabi as a type of beauty that can be found in harsh environments or environments experiencing a heat wave, like Pipers Lagoon was in July.

Very nice images and approach to photography, I can fully relate. I hope to see more! This is not the first time I get inspired by your content (on the blog and here).
P.S. A small suggestion. Since I use headphones it feels a bit odd hearing your voice only on the left channel, it'd be better to have it on both channels (even if mono). It sounds fine otherwise and it's well balanced with the music (unlike with many popular channels). Actually, in a way it is in the spirit of wabi sabi. :)

Hey Dejan, thanks for watching and for your kind comment. I didn't realize that about the voice being only on one channel. I've been recording it with a Rhode lapel mic on my iphone, and didn't realize it was that way. Really appreciate the heads up! I'll see if I can change the settings in my recorder but probably, like you said, it is mono, and I can just put it on both channels. Anyway, big thanks!

    Hi Richard.
This is what I'm looking for.
I want to learn a lot more about Wabi Sabi photography.
It's something that attracts me that I have a feeling about.
Thank you for this video and I hope you read my comment because it's an older video.
Maybe you have some tips where I can find out more about this topic.
    A friendly Dutch greeting,
    Antoine.

Hi Antoine, thank you so much for leaving a comment. It is great to connect with others drawn to this kind of beauty. One of the great impetuses for me as a photographer is the challenge to create an image that does some honour to wabi sabi. There are not a lot of photographers working in this area, and so I don't know of some really excellent resources for you. I would be interested to hear where you are at in our own photographic journey. Do you have any photos published online? I have slowly been working on a gallery on Flickr of sabi images: flickr.com/photos/stillinthestream/galleries/72157623025369749/ but I confess that I haven't put enough effort in to it. This article from Sara Crowe has some good suggestions medium.com/swlh/wabi-sabi-and-digital-photography-a1bf9612cff3 Feel free to reach out to me via my facebook page: facebook.com/stillinthestream or via my website. Would be happy to converse in more depth.
