"I absolutely wish I had stumbled upon this video when I first started my journey into nano reef aquariums. Your guidance would have saved me so much trial and error! But better late than never, your content is now my go-to source for all things reef-related. Thank you for making it easier for newcomers like me to navigate this beautiful but intricate hobby."
I wanted to thank Ryan and the entire BRS team for all the knowledge and work for research. I have a fluval evo, its my first saltwater tank. I have been cycling the tank for 2 months. I had diatom bloom for the past 2-3 weeks but i added copepods from algaebarn and i was impressed of how fast the copepods made work of the diatoms. The Diatoms were on the rocks, sand, glass, etc., and towards the end of the 3rd week of there were no more diatoms. I still see plenty of copepods and i am feeding with oceanMagik. I got my first corals today. Thank you BRS.😊
My 25 gallon reef tank is genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever been able to do. I never would have set it up if good information wasn't so accessible. Thanks so much!
Yeah I felt that when me and my wife had our first boy I was struggling with waterchanges every week but at the time you guys released a video on auto waterchanges saved my tank and give me more time with the family the only reason I’m still in reefing is thanks to brs and Neptune for making the equipment to be able to do the waterchanges
My 15g Fluval bow front has been a massively rewarding first step into the hobby. 1 year and still running smoothly. No skimmer, weekly 3 gallon water change/glass clean. Only regret would be the 'bow front' feature as it warps some photos but in person it slightly magnifies the sizes of the life within. I will upgrade to a 40 or 60 when I can afford it haha
I've had a pico 4 gallon tank up since June, and things can go bad in the course of a couple of days if you aren't keeping up. I do daily maintenance and weekly water changes, but it's so easy in a 4 gallon, it never takes more than about 2 minutes unless I'm also cleaning the pump and filter chamber (i have two small bags of bio filtration in my filter box that need rinsed weekly to bi weekly), then it takes maybe 20. I keep it quite stocked between coral, invertebrates, and fish though, so it requires a lot of TLC
I am not sure why, but these recent ones are not showing up on youtube (stops at week 5). I had to click into the channel and to recent videos to find it after remembering you guys were doing this.
If I ever get back into the reef hobby, I'm going back to a nano reef tank. My first reef was a 10 gal mixed reef that thrived for 4 years. Then I went to 75 for 10 years and it never came close to being as nice and easy as my 10 gal.
I am glad that the whole stigma around nano tanks being more difficult than a larger tank is finally going away. It is not that difficult you just have to pay attention to your tank.
@@noodles_GA You may be able to rent a par meter from your lfs. I recommend it, becuase it's the only real way you are going to know what the par is at certain places of your tank. The rockwork of every tank is unique and may drastically affect par near the bottom
I have one on a fish only tank, I use an Orphek Atlantik iCon for my coral tank, I just want to see if its strong enough to grow some acans I have had on a frag rack for a few months @@KnightofRosubias
I run a innovative marine 14 pro 2 peninsula 2 clowns RBTA nems 1 yasha goby pistol shrimp pair and 1 giant turbo snail named Gary it's a pleasure to watch on my desk after a long day at work.✌️
Started this adventure in a red sea nano but i am struggling with Cyano. Im doeing a weekly 10% water change and i am testing nitrateand phosphate. What more can i do?
Foods add nitrogen and phosphorus. So if nitrate is rising, it's likely phosphate is as well or vice versa. That's not an absolute statement and assumes you don't use phosphate remover, but there is an important tie there worth understanding. I'd suggest testing both once a month and watching how they scale together.
When you guys say week ___ of reefing. Please post a video of reefing and not a talk. I love listening to the talks I always do. But the talks can’t make up for actual reefing. The old 52 weeks format was great. Don’t have a full video? Just show some problem lr process so we can actually follow the systems. Not a podcast (it doesn’t count!)

6 months into my reef tank and this channel from the start has taught me everything I needed to know thanks guys!
This was a good idea for a tank. I look forward to seeing how it comes out

I need week 12 and 13!!!

When will weeks 12 and 13 be out?

This is the tank I’m most excited for

Can you show more of the AWC setup with the nano? I have one set up on my 24 gal but it looks like a science experiment.
What connectors do they have on the DOS at 5:51? And what is the purpose?
Do you have a video on the auto top off setup for this?
whats the minimum amount of gallons you would recommend for a dwarf lion fish?

AND PLEASE GIVE PAR READINGS FOR THAT KESSIL

Love my nanos!

I’m hoping to see an update of the chromis acropora reef soon

Algae scrubber!!! On a 15 gallon SPS tank I do no water change also I don't got sand
Waiting for the 25g low iron cubes to get back in stock.
360 make it a 360, incorporate nps, soft, lps, sps and macroalgae and mangroves. make the ultimate mixed reef.
Basically every reef tank that exists is a mixed reef. I much prefer sps dominant or soft coral dominant tanks
Black Friday coming soon
I guess you can’t call it 52 weeks anymore ….
Yep. I love brs but this is just underwhelming. I know there’s enough content too. Even 10 minute video showing some maintenance or hitchhikers
Something is going on….. many days and no videos…. Any ideas? Is ryan ok?
@@danielmourrafor real? The dude is busy af looking after all these tanks + experiments + writing, researching and filming + has a family.
This is the first time I’m hearing that nitrate is a indicator for phosphates

you siphon sand in your tank! is it safe
