This newest version of Miami has completely changed the perception of the program. Dare I say it is no longer a pipe dream for someone like an Urban Meyer to come to Miami. My my have things changed.
If I'm Schumann, I'm taking a better opportunity. Yeah, UGA has a great defense, but he isn't given credit for it by Kirby. I think it's a slap in his face by promoting Muschamp as a co-dc with him.

The thing about Nick Saban is he has systems and schemes in place that the coordinators usually come in and run. Makes more sense and eliminates the need to teach a bunch of kids something new. He probably allows the OC to do their thing to a degree, but defensively it’s his run how he wants it

Dan Lanning has A LOT to do with how good Georgia's defense is PERIOD
We still have Will Mushchamp on staff, he won a National Title with Sabin at LSU AS DC AND HAD GOOD DEFENSES AT AUBURN UNDER MUSHCHAMP...HE IS A GREAT DC AND RECRUITER....
He also won one with Texas in 2005 as DC.

As an Oregon Duck Alum/fan I'd like to say great video and great perspective. I felt the same with Mario about a week ago with so much buzz it just seemed inevitable. We shall see. Either way best of luck in the bowl game. I really enjoyed watching Georgia all season.
They’re going to need more than luck. It will take an act of God to bring down the Crimson Tide. Michigan will probably eliminate Georgia before it comes to that. On the other hand, Oregon has the chance to get a better coach now than Mario.

The end of this year has been an absolute disaster for us. If we could get a guy like Dan Lanning, that would go a LONG way in helping to alleviate some of that damage Cristobal did by bailing
Coach Saban gets his staff pillaged EVERY year. The early signing period adds an extra layer of stress to the situation. Programs want to get their HC in place ASAP when an opening occurs to salvage recruits.
Consistent quality recruiting of both players and staff is why Saban is the GOAT
Hopefully Dan is smarter than Kirby and he learns to play his 5 star QB's at Oregon.

As an Oregon alum, I don't blame Mario for leaving. However, I would be lying if I said I'm not bitter about the timing. The early signing period is going to screw us. I think the damage is done. If we do hire Lanning I think it would actually be a boon to later recruiting if he has that natty on the resume.

Lincoln Riley actually didn't have an OC. He had Bill Bedenbaugh as the "Co-OC" but that basically didn't mean anything. There's word around now that those two didn't even get along, hence why Bedenbaugh didn't leave for USC.
I heard that Bedenbaugh didn't like the strength and conditioning coach, named Wylie, who left with Lincoln. Supposedly faults him for the bad o-line play.
Just rumors that I heard from the Twitter Space from people who supposedly had close contacts.. Wylie is like an Instagram fitness model type, from how people describe him. So it doesn't sound far fetched. 🤷♂️

Kirby is very good at defense
He's not nearly as good as people make him out to be. His last 3 years at Alabama, his defenses gave up 40+ points and 500+ yards six times. Twice a Kirby Smart Alabama defense gave up Alabama records for total yards in a game at over 600 both times, and both times they scored over 40. People act like he has had better defenses at Georgia, but the facts are, in Kirbys 6 years at Georgia, Alabama actually finished better than them in points allowed per game 4 times.
