Heavy Metal 2000 has a fantastic soundtrack, from the greatest era of metal. Good soundtracks were the norm with many movies back then. Still helps me find amazing new music to this day. I'm sure the 80s version is fine too, but 2000 was an excellent time for a movie like that to come out.
On the second level of Between Heaven and Hell.. I found two detonation packs, tried them on the rock in the hallway, the second one blew it to pieces. As for the first level, I knocked those gun heads off the edge of the path, used the Uzi on any I couldn't knock off and killed the tough guy in the chamber with the chainsaw secondary attack after beating him up a bit. I wound up with lots of left over ammo easily at the end of the level.
I remember beating the final boss, getting back the power of WE, and thinking, that the game finally started.. lets get to the action bit and clear the world off the aliens.. and .. the game ends!!!!
I have the soundtrack for the original film on vinyl. Killer soundtrack. Love it. The art and animation on the original film are really impressive, as well.
It was the same for me, but it's no coincidence. Not only are the games on the same engine, but the companies that made the games are from the same town and both started as developers of Quake mission packs. It is the same mindset inspired by early id games. Also Ritual Entertainment (Heavy Metal) made some tools to help make id Tech 3 games which Rogue Entertainment (Alice) used to make their game. Ritual Entertainment also made some assets for Alice. It's all written on Wikipedia.
those third person pc action games... good old times... one of my all time favorites of this kind is harry potter and the chamber of secrets, which i've beat several times back in the day
How did you get this running? I own the CD, used to play it as a kid, and some months ago I found it and tried installing it, but it always froze, so I downloaded it somewhere else thinking it was damaged, but nope same issue, it just freezes good. This falls into a weird pc style of platformer, anyone that played a bunch of 3D pc games knows what I'm talking about, it's like, a similar thing that a lot of games had, even stuff like those Harry Potter games, it just FEELS like 90's 3D pc games. I sorta miss it, the charming clunk.
Hah, I still keep the Linux ISO of the game, let's see if I can run that. *Edit:* Yeap, as I've just tried it runs like charm after minor tweaks. *Installer (ISO needed):* www.liflg.org/?catid=7&gameid=93 *Linux tweak:* icculus.org/~chunky/fakk2/ *Launch command:* LC_ALL=C ./fakk2.sh +set r_gldriver libGL.so.1
The first half of the game is good. But towards the end, the game becomes relatively unfun. First and foremost repetitive. Simply because enemies suddenly take much longer to kill. Despite having all weapons. And melee combat sucks. Its just mindlessly repeating the same swing animation over and over again. All you have to do, is keep the enemy an arm lengths away from you. Rune did a vastly superior job at melee combat. A game you will replay often over the years. Even worth playing today. Can't say the same about FAKK2.
As usual, I'm amazed you guys pump these out so fast
Its salokin gggmanlives semi main nigga
Man I miss ritual entertainment. The SIN series was awesome
Me to a few of their games are ending on cliff hangers and never got a conclusion.
Great review I had myth 2, Oni,serious Sam ,heavy metal fall 2,and rune in a bow set. Just started playing them this year. Awesome games.

I got my hands on a big box copy the week this came out. Awesome!

1:50 sounds like Serious Sam
Wow! I'd love to see this show up on GOG or Steam.
Will you guys look at Severance: Blade of Darkness at some point? This game reminds me of it.
That game was bad-ass
2 games I absolutely loved playing. Too bad this game was left on a cliffhanger, and the other was rushed more than halfway through
I didn't even know it had an unofficial expansion.
Got the original CD for the game, where coming back over years time from time to play it. Combat is just that fun in this game.
The game use the same shotgun from Q3 Arena as it's engine, amazing! And a friend has a launch copy of It, i think it's time to borrow!

Agreed on all points.
For some reason, it remind me American McGee Alice .... Same engine or just PC 3d world 2000 style?

@@antoniorsoftware Took the words right outta my mouth. Also, both games have such a weird and unique game world so it makes sense.

game looks soooo badass
Given the game's, um, assets, I'm surprised it was never given the Rule 34 treatment.
No need, magazine and it's stories already featured all the sexy desires ever craved for.
Humbug, I've seen better in fan-made hentai!
Whoops, I didn't see your comment when I replied to Alacorn's. :-p
You should review Nier Automata next.
I forgot some more games to add: Kirby Air Ride and Star Allies.

I consulted the game's PCGamingWiki page to get it running. Check the video description. Links to what's needed are in there.
Nice review! This game always reminded me a lot of Heretic II. That game kicked a lot of ass.
Melee combat reminds me "Rune".
Love you fam:)

this game is a good 7 out of 10
Wasn't this in a demo disk video
Yes it was
@@TheJohannesH that was a good video
There's a way to play multiplayer (and co-op!) thanks to a mod on ModDB!
*YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
I had no idea it had a mod

Why do city kids think every SMG is an Uzi?
Because I don't give a fuck
The uzi and its mini and micro brothers are iconic due to 80s and 90s action movies
@@weirdpuzzledude1876 - True, but Michael Jackson was an iconic pop singer and we don't refer to every pop singer as Michael Jackson.
@@raiderbadlands true you do have a point, i guess i stand corrected

Damn I used to think this was the coolest shit ever. I mean look at the fakking name. Suffice to say, I was so wrong.
