Dave Mustaine's rhythm guitar is better than a lot of peoples lead playing. He also tends to play lead parts as well or switch back and forth. I like to think of him as the lead rhythm guitarist.

They have never really discussed this part of the whole thing. It might be partly true. Mustaine is skilled and big mouthed. If you have too many "leader types" with big egos in a small four man group - things go crazy easily. Burton (later Newsted) and Hammett are the quieter types.

MegaDave probably one of the most under rated players and writers in music. And WAY ahead of his time. That stuff off the first two albums still holds its own against today’s music. And bravo for learning all that stuff! Most people get frustrated before getting halfway through some Megadeth songs and give up. 👍🏻

I'm black and grew up listening to nothing but rap, gospel, jazz, and R&B up until high school. One of my buddies had me listen to Holy Wars... The Punishment Due during a workout. That song blew my mind. I had him replay it and I stopped working out just to really listen to it. Always been a fan of rhythmic jazz guitar and had no idea metal existed and it changed my life hearing that song. I had been missing out.
You MUST listen to Angra. If you don't know Angra, listen to the song "Morning Star" off of the album Temple of Shadows. I have no words to explain how great that album is. Also, Megadeth's current guitarist Kiko Loureiro was in Angra from when it formed until 2015
Yup, some of their songs proved to be pretty difficult to play. Not necessarily because of the technical aspect, but rather the speed, timing and precision of how they were played. Definitely not bad at all for a band that started out a bit on the sloppy side, but then quickly became one of the tightest (if not the tightest) Speed Metal bands in Heavy Metal history to date.
Because of the ad the whole time I thought this was a Paul David's video. I thought in a few seconds it would cut to him saying, these are nice riffs and learning them.
That was freakin' great. I just stumbled on to this video while I was drinking my preworkout coffee, and now I'm totally worked out and ripe to crush weights. Great jam.
megadeth it's an entire world, their songs are really a challenge to play it, it gets even more harder if you want to play exactly what mustaine does note by note. good video mate

But I do like the newer stuff as well.. especially the song "Never Walk Alone" off the United Abominations album. I started playing guitar because of Megadeth and my first metal concert was Megadeth. Yup, some of their songs proved to be pretty difficult to play. Not necessarily because of the technical aspect, but rather the speed, timing and precision of how they were played. Definitely not bad at all for a band that started out a bit on the sloppy side, but then quickly became one of the tightest (if not the tightest) Speed Metal bands in Heavy Metal history to date.

especially the song "Never Walk Alone" off the United Abominations album. I started playing guitar because of Megadeth and my first metal concert was Megadeth. It was plain AWESOME!
