What Happened to Saddam Hussein's Space Gun

- Saddam Hussein, the infamous former president and prime minister of Iraq, once dreamed of creating a super gun, an unimaginably powerful weapon that would help Iraq conquer the Arab world. But where did he get such an idea? How did he go about trying to create his super weapon? And most importantly, did he succeed?

CAN YOU please make a 300 to 400 day alien invasion video.
Let's get this comment pinned!
Or just continue the nuclear apocalypse series they had a while back
@TNtyer.slayer Absolutely! Both series were amazing! Though I believe they finished the nuclear one, but I'm gonna get me some "Fuego" if they don't keep making content like that! They can actually make a movie out of it (or even better a TV show)
@@Redneck.Rembrandtdefinitely. I’ve been waiting for the nuke apocalypse series next installment
Right like hurry up already
People like this make comic book characters seem just that much more believable. He's literally an obsessed scantiest who became an arms dealer to fund his research on a super weapon that he thought would better mankind.
"Don't antagonize Sheldon. He's one lab accident away from being a supervillain origin story!"

HBO made a biopic 🎬 about this guy & his Iraq 🇮🇶 super gun. The guy was a whacko. I'm surprised MI6 or CIA didn't wax this engineer sooner.
Mossad yeeted him.
Saddam Hussein was actaully keeping the terrorists suppressed and keeping law and order in Iraq, after he died then the terrorists took over so in a way, he was kind of a good guy
the kurds of Iraq would disagree
@@for-lc6rj even southern Iraqis. My uncle was kidnapped and never came back, my father talked about him as a smart guy whom went to university but one day he didn't come back.
Yup, in the '70s we talked about this guy's work. It's awesome to see what he got up to 🤣
Parts of the gun where actually made, I used to work for a firm in England that where tricked into making parts, even used the machines used to machine parts of the barrel. story goes it was said to be an “experimental oil pipeline” however machinists got suspicious because of the rifling in the barrel, someone went to MI5 with the concern who shared it between government agencies, they tracked down and waited for the components to be completed and when dispatched they were stopped at the boarder, the firm was raided and many high ranking staff arrested. Everyone was released, however it is odd how something as obvious as a rifled tube could not be noticed immediately as suspicious.
Infact sections of the barrel are actually on display in the UK
Blissful ignorance. Money makes you see things differently or not SEE things as they are
I didn’t know it was rifled. I heard a slightly different but basically the same story.
I heard the accuracy specs were so stringent that somebody said, ‘you would think they are trying to make a gun’ and the light bulb went off.
Your story sounds more accurate.
Or someone knew and didn’t want the news out
"tha' sed it were fer sewers? then why'd it 'ave a thumpin' great muzzle on t'end?" was pretty much the comment when it was discovered. as the barrel was being made in the factory just down the road from where i am
Thank you for the update, The Infographics Show..!! I remember there was a good TV Movie about Gerald Bull called "Doomsday Gun" (1994).
Quite the cast. Included Kevin Spacey.
Frank Langela played Gerald Bull
Yes a older HBO film. Crazy story.
The FIST OF GOD. This is still my favorite book till today
The concept is still in development in one form or other, I mean the idea for spinlaunch is in testing if I recall and em-massdrivers have been toyed around as possible launch mechanisms since I was a kid, and while the propulsion is different and not just lots of explosives, the concept is the same.
Can you please continue on the alien invasion series and the world war 3 series?
Greatest Canadian ever!
Rip Bull.
HBO did a decent movie about Gerald Bull in 1994 called Doomsday Gun.
“We all did some crazy things in the 80s”
Me being born in 2000: 😐
Yeah, I left a comment about how they need to learn who their audience is. I'm only 30, and pretty sure I'm one of the few "somewhat" older watchers.
There is a movie on this called Doomsday gun here on RUclips
Lesson: If a German woman come to meet you run..😂😂
To keep the explosion still in the barrel vs it seeping out when the shell is detonated, u need a cupped shaped thing below the item ur sending up, that way it takes the brunt of the explosion and keeps the gasses inside the barrel till the shell is out of the barrel!~
Music stops at 3:17 and comes back on around 4:27
I always look for these comments lol when the edits go wrong
Doomsday Gun (1994) is a really enjoyable movie based on his story.
(Edit: I just noticed that several others mentioned the movie too)
We were one part away from making STAR WARS in real life
I think america or canada might also have a role in his killing
It's amazing how US needs to .... excuse excuses... excuse...
Today I googled about Saddam Hussein and today I get this video! What are the odds!?!
About 5 to 1
Google owns RUclips so if you search it on Google then you might see it on RUclips
Did he use it to take out some of the Star Destroyers so the transports can clear the system?
This sounds exactly like what them "conspiracy" theorists talk about when they say DEW - interesting
It's not a conspiracy. That stuff is real .
Someone make this man his own movie pls
I didn’t like how you displayed iraq as A DESERT
The music pause threw me off.
7.65mm bullets? They don’t make a round in that caliber to my knowledge
See Walther or Beretta.
I think the space gun is actually coming back as there is still a race on to getting stuff to orbit as cheap as we can get it. The thing is missiles are just better for delivering nukes to other countries. A space gun would be a huge target.
It launched and flew into space
Please make a video of the 10 most powerful nuclear weapons ever made and I don't just mean prototypes for tests like the tsar bomba I mean production bombs like the B61 and the satan 2 missile
I had the idea a while ago when North Korea launched all those missiles into the water that they could be live and waiting to all remotely detonated. What kind of tsunami could that make and who would it effect. Also the Soviets had an underground submarine that tunneled. Maybe Nk could have one. Just spitballing
The soviet's had an idea of underground it was never made and theoretically impossible
We were so so close to having Ace Combat in real life
So now we know invented the weather control device aka HARRP
Craziest thing I did in the 80s was being born 😅
Imaging in thr future when humans conquer the moon and mars, and start pew pew pew with guns inspired by Boyle's attempts...
Hmm...I can't help but wonder if these guns were the Weapons of mass destruction the US government said they were looking for in the 2000s
Iran could have done that guy in too, because they would have their reasons as well.
My cousins and I went on a hike to find space research but there is nothing there anymore. Apperently they were test shooting on the backside of mont Sutton with a similar canon
I remember watching a movie about bull.
HBO made a movie about this! Mosad killed him!
Sadaam was already president in Iraq in 1981.
WHERE HAS THE I SURVIVED SERIES GONE
Wonder why he didn't work on railguns
Sadam made a Stonehenge turret?
Yeah but can it launch pumpkins?
I really enjoyed the coverage early on in Russia Ukraine war....could you cover more of the current affairs?
Sounds like malcolm betruger
First video I've checked out since that George Washington hatchet job you turned out.... don't let me down!
It would have made more sense for the U.S. to have let him build his gun out in the Nevada desert.
Can you make a challenge video
justice for Gerald Bull
He should have known that working for Iraqis would anger Israel and its supporters, but building a super big gun has never been a brilliant idea🥸
@@abdul-qf2fe it is his fault because he wore a short skirt

A gun was completed and fired . in barbados.. cia involvement caused the death of the project
There is an awesome podcast by the name 'the dollop' that has a/some episode(s) on spotify. I think it is the one about the iraq war or the third wave
It's hard to believe anything America says
Try listening to a Chinese or Russian official and get back to me
@@Excremental_Discharge doesn't make his comment anywhere near wrong
@@wmich1 which liberal-arts college did you drop out of?
@@Excremental_Discharge I've watched American officials inventing new wars and dragging the whole world into something for decades... Chinese Russians any world leaders.... We're doomed man
@@Excremental_DischargeSuper intelligent original argument there.🙄
the fact check is that it in NO WAY WAS SIMILAR BLAST TO THE NUKE ON JAPAN IN 1945!!!Who wrote that part..at best the powder keg was 25000 pounds of tnt ..CERTAINLY NOT THO 20,000 TONS...TONS!! IN JAPAN!! there would be no room for this much tonnage of powder in the barrell!!
Saddam insane was trying to create this 😳😳😳
The 80s was heck of a time for American foreign policy, Iran contra affair not withstanding
Uh bull finished the program and weapon and then was liquidated duh
come on.....the jews whacked him
CIA sends their regards
If you are among those that saw Sandman space gun instead of Saddam space gun 🖐🏼
*There is no sanctuary*
Haha the moon
Do you want me to tell you what actually happened or what you want to here?
*hear. Yes.
Cough cough CIA or MOSSAD
he is my king.
Ordered by the US, carried out by Israel.
If only Hamas didn’t give them a reason
Infooo 😃
at which time was the west scared of iraq?
you say "at the time", but the reality is, that time never came. the west has never feared iraq, we destroyed their military within 4 days, twice in 1 decade.
Bull was assassinated March 22nd, not March 2nd.
Do you still want us to believe this?
Lol, still trying to justify the sins done by the US
🇺🇸
Canadians aren’t that nice, I guess
Living in North Bay would drive anyone to become mad. Most boring place in all Ontario.

No, it wast just western propraganda
The super gun design obsession reminds me of when I was a kid I used to draw pictures with one of my friends designs for different guns, ammo, and other military stuff like armored vehicles everyday.

The events of Project Babylon are dramatized in the 1994 HBO movie Doomsday Gun starring Frank Langella as Bull, with Kevin Spacey, Alan Arkin, and Clive Owen in supporting roles, and in Frederick Forsyth's novel The Fist of God.
3:17 this is the part where the main character starts speaking directly to the audience; a soliloquy, if you will.
I thought I was having a tech error, the lack of music is a little jarring. Though it does make it that much more obvious how loud it was prior to that 😅
@@mj.ray0898 yeah, pretty sure it was just an error in editing, but I like my interpretation 🤠
Yeah I actually got spooked, it got too intimate without the music 💀
I remember seeing this on the news as a kid, before the Gulf War, and never saw anything about it again. I wondered what the whole story was.
The whole story is a older HBO movie. 🎬
2:07 i don't think thats schwerer gustav existed in 1918
I saw a documentary on this years ago, and they consistently spelled the surname "Bolle."
he got six months for selling illegal guns, and a war torn country.. i got 3 months for driving on a suspended license and getting caught more than three times lol fml
Saddem never stuck me as an "wonder" weapon guy.
Eh, he definitely liked mustard gas. obsession with big weapons seem to hit every modern megalomaniacs.
@@Vandelberger Mustard gas isn't an wonder weapon actually.
@@subjectc7505 It is is you are an innocent Kurdish citizen with no defense.
@@Vandelberger it's not, it's been used for years before Saddam used it.
@@subjectc7505 I know that, lol but they were “wonder weapons” in WW1 tech until other powers adapted. Saddam killed nearly 10k Kurds with cheap mustard gas. That’s a wonder weapon at that level.
I've been to North Bay, with my parents,
many years ago. I remember it was
summer, and at night there were these
insects all over the place, especially by

Welcome to da nort
Bro, your music keeps getting messed up in the middle of videos. It's jarring to just hear your voice with no music. 😂
I survived 1000 days of Nuclear war part 2 Please!!!!!!!!
fredrick forsythe wrote a pretty good book on this.
Hi info!Im your biggest fan!!!
he didn’t have WMD btw
I guarantee only maybe 2% of people watching this even knows what the 80's was. You guys really need to learn that most of your audience is Gen-Z's who were only born from 1995 and up. You really expect 50 year old people to be watching this?!
I also understand why that Canadian was evil: North Bay is THE MOST boring area in all of the province of Ontario. Anyone would become crazy, living there.
