Hey man, my Name is Leon Moore, I just came across your channel. Love your Videos man. I have a 3rd generation Toyota 4Runner. Mine come with a 3Rz engine and it’s right hand drive.. great vehicle. I’m from Guyana. Guyana is in South America 😊, I said this because most people think that my country is in Africa. It’s located between Suriname and Venezuela. Brazil is also my bordering country, south of Guyana. I watched your video about what to look for before buying one of these. Loved it. I’m happy to be a subscriber to your channel.

PhoRunner Channel yes, In Guyana, the 4Runner is very popular. Especially the older ones. The one I have now is the 98 series/model. I also owned a 93 model but I sold that one last year December and got this newer one.

loved the video (as always). Another even easier way to install the rear coils is to use the OEM bottle jack between the axle and the frame. In fact, this is so easy it enables you to swap springs without even taking the wheels off. I just did this with OME 890 springs, which are considerably taller than stock.
Just be sure to keep an eye on brake and ABS lines to ensure you're not maxing them out.

2 hours ago finished the OME rear springs w/5100s, and TRD springs w/5100s front bought the set from Wheeler's. I used this vid for the instructional, it was all we needed.
We did get a tip to use silicone grease on everything AFTER we were done.
The top but on the rear shocks requires either a ratcheting crows foot or a passthrough ratchet/socket... That top but sucks otherwise only other tip is to be sure to pull the E brake brackets off the diff and DONT SET YOUR E brake! That gives you the play you need to move the diff freely. Ohhhh ya and use plenty of penetrant oil on all those nuts and bolts, good gosh!
Also deleted the front and rear sway bars it's a "No swaybar life" for me!

I have OME 883 in the front and 891 (made for Prada) in the back. Level out to 3.25 front and back with 5100 Bilstein. These are heavy duty springs so hopefully it doesn't sag with weight. The back spring is rated at 500-600 lbs of constant weight I believe. You should get longer sway bar end links at the back. I replaced the back with the front links since I have extras. I find the front easier to install (took me like 5-10mins). The rear was a pain to get to the top nut and break it. I end up chopping it off LOL. I have a 2000 limited 4runner.

Hey Bud, I've got a major dilemma on this particular subject! I also have a 99 3rd gen 4x4 I have decided to get the TRD 4x4 Tundra springs that came in the 1st gens 2000-2006. They're part# 48131-AF100 (color code: yellow-yellow; driver's side) and part# 48131-AF090 (color code: blue-yellow; passenger side). I also plan on the Tundra shocks as well, but need to do more research as the online info is inconsistent. On the rears I would want the Old Man Emu #906. These would provide an almost dead on 2" of lift. I've been reading the forums and the reason for this lift is the long life and mostly affordable, except the dearship prices for the front TRD springs are like $450 shipped! This is kinda expensive, but when you factor how rare these are to find, it seems more reasonable... What do you think about this? Speedy's Garage on RUclips has the video on this and it seems really great. I wanted to do the 6112's and 5160's but those just don't have the availability coupled with the longevity that 5100's offer... That's the reason behind all this. I really respect your opinion and that's the reason for writing this up... Other than that have a great and Happy New Years! Take care bro! 🌆🌌🏞🗻🏕🌄🏜🏖🐣

    • @PhoRunner
      @PhoRunner  4 года назад +1

I think the oem springs are a little overpriced. But I loved my 2” lift setup and 32” tires. It was the perfect balance for price and power. You don’t need to do a whole bunch of other mods (video soon) to run that lift/tire size. It’s actually something I miss on my truck!! I ran a 906/880 combo on mine and was happy with it! But speedy has it right also. His truck looks amazing!

Hi, I recognized your 4Runner at the parking lot of Home Depot a while back. I'm looking to do the same upgrade on my 3rd gen and wanted to know how you like this setup with the land cruiser coil springs. I also saw your video on changing the rear shock absorbers for longer travel. Did you keep the same coil springs from the land cruiser after changing the rear shock absorbers? Are you still running the same size tires (265/70r17) now or have you changed to a bigger tire since? Would you mind sharing your list of parts that you've changed to complete this setup? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you for your informative videos. If like to join your group when you hit the trails one of these days. I'm a noobie so I'm still learning the 'how-to's' of 4 wheeling. Thank you for your time.

I really like what you got going on.

    Front.
Moog 81088 coils with Bilistean 5100s set @ 1.75 resulting In slightly over 2”
Why Moog? Strong spring providing slight increase 0.5-1.0 over OEM height.
In combination with Bilistean 1.75 adjustments 2”- 2.3 is pretty much guaranteed.
Big plus , no differential drop needed.
    Rear
OME 890 spring with Bilistean 5100.
I might have to add 0.5 shim for level-slight rake.
    What do you think?

      PhoRunner Channel Right on.
I’m currently running 265/75R16 on 96 Limited using Daystar spacer kit - 1” front original coil / 1.5 rear on Moog.
Driver Side - Center hub to fender Front 22” & Rear 22.5 Rear.
      Passenger Side 22.5 / 22.5
Im thinking extra front height obtained came from cheap struts purchased online.
Setup works providing ok ride for over 6 years but as measurements show wicked front driver side lean now taking place..half inch close to empty tank.
      What a mess!
Anyway thanks much for your opinion.
I look forward to upgrade early 2021

I would only want 2-3' lift... other website that sells a lift kit is only offering OME 880, 881, 883 for the rear. Can I use them instead? • @PhoRunner
      @PhoRunner  4 года назад

OME 880/881/883 are for the front only. the spring size is different. OME 861 would work in the rear but will give you a lot of lift if you have no weight in the back. I would only get OME 861 if you have a rear tire carrier and plate bumper back there. OME 890 may be a better choice for the rear if you want 3" lift. OME906 for 2" lift. For the front, OME883 for 3" lift or 881 for 2" lift.

@@PhoRunner thx for the quick response. so to clarify you are using 2nd gen endlinks up front?

@@NPHTV12 yes. Then the stock 3rd gen front links go to the rear. That's what most people do. I run those 2nd gens on all 4 lol.

I'm going with a Dobinsons 2" heavy-duty lift in the front. In the rear I have a hardwood drawer system/sleeping platform and I'll eventually be adding a plate rear bumper and tire carrier. Which LC springs would you recommend for a 2-3" rear lift with a lot of junk in the trunk.
BC here, too, by the way!

Lc 7.5 wrap is good for your case. Check out my other lift video where I put those in mine. I have cargo system/sleeper and fridge and it holds it all up great
