Thank you for bringing this to the forefront of the natural hair community! This is exactly how my hair grows and is the reason why I refuse to go to a beautician for a trim. I know for a fact if I went in there, they would cut my hair to my shoulders because the nape of my hair grows so slowly, but the rest of my hair is growing down my back

The issue is they straighten curly hair out and trim based on the shortest layer. Yes sometimes it’s damage but sometimes it’s just layered lengths. The key is to really examine the ends for splits and knots. I just do that on my own and I think anybody can

Yep my name was so damaged back in the day and now has to catch up with the rest. My hair was cut in layers long time ago. So it will take forever to get all the same. I just check for see through ends trim those.

This is me!!! My crown which is courser is always shorter. A lady once told me you have beautiful layers. I thought it was breakage🤦🏽‍♀️

I have different lengths as I cut out splits and single strand knots.
