We are very proud of Duncan! In the middle of the night screaming and yelling when he won 😂! That was amazing…beautiful done and really such an amazing song!! But still Joost Klein with Europapa was THE eurovision song…he had everything in it…sad, happy energy and Joost is such a great performer 😍! We are proud of both 🫶🫶🇳🇱🇳🇱!! Thank you Paul 👋🫶!
The Eurovision Song Contest 1956 was the first Eurovision Song Contest and took place on 24 May 1956 in Lugano: Duncan Laurence, stage name of Duncan de Moor, is a Dutch singer-songwriter. He became known in the Netherlands through his participation in the fifth season of the television program The Voice of Holland, where he reached the semi-finals. On May 18, 2019, Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.
Hi Paul, apparently my previous reaction was deleted, so another try without the reference to a website: fyi: Duncan Laurence will perform our national anthem this weekend prior to the F1 Grand Prix in Zandvoort.
@@DACHBenelux Yes I watch Eurovision and I watched 2 eurocup matches. First the one that Belgium was eliminated and the second one that the Netherlands were eliminated. So yeah, never again. I want them to win🤣
Didn’t you know that the Eurovision 2021 was in the Netherlands, Rotterdam? It was in corona time but the Netherlands managed to still make a spectacular show. Maneskin won that year. I was there with the final in Rotterdam.
That's my absolute favorite ESC. You've managed to turn all these health requirements into gold. And I loved that not only was it a great show, but it seemed as well that behind the scenes everyone just wanted to be friends and have an awesome party.

Hey Paul, you should also check out ''Rock the roof'' it was the interval show from Eurovision Rotterdam, it shows a lot of acts performing on Rotterdam highrise buildings/rooftops! I bet you too will think, wow- that almost feels like North America (but then again, that's Rotterdam alright, haha)
I was just thinking about what that was like. Because of the health restrictions, not too many people were supposed to get too close to each other, so this show could have been a half-baked improvisation. But nope, I remember a marvel of performances, effects and emotions, it was absolutely brilliant! Just as the Netherlands and Rotterdam enchanted this entire ESC 2021, they made gold out of these restrictions!
@@AP-hr3qm Yes exactly! We noticed barely anything of the whole Covid, which was such a breath of fresh air to most of the population at that point, they really improvised and created so much for this, it's quite unique how they managed to pull this off. I think Paul would also be amazed to see this!
@@letheas6175Definitely! Just the idea of moving the green room right in front of the stage - so brilliant! I just loved that the artists were among themselves that way. Behind the scenes in the spotlight. There's footage of everyone celebrating together, it's incredible 😍

An incredibly emotional, stirring song and so timeless.
Absolutely deserved to win!
At Beste Zangers 2023 Numidia covered this song. Please check it, she did it with passion.
His performance “I Do” is much more 👏🏻

Hi Paul, you should check out Beste Zangers (especially the 2023 edition), I think you’ll love it.
His real name us Duncan de Moor. Duncan Laurence just sounds more international.

May 2019, just before “Moroccan” Oil took over the EBU, otherwise Duncan would have been disqualified.
