Hell, if I had known how they were going to rip this place to shreds when I left in 1975, I would perhaps have taken more notice of what was there! 46 years later there is little to recognise.
Love the photo of High Southwick Junior School . One half for the boys (in Kings Road) the Goschen Street half for girls. My twin sister and I were segregated when we went there from 1959 to 1963

The destruction of the town hall was an act of sheer vandalism.
Same done to Gateshead. Total vandalism from local authorities..wh
miss this place .. sigh.
I still love my town so much, brought back great memories though.
