1. Nursing staff can remove a dressing if
A member of the surgical team is present.
B there is severe leakage from the wound.
C they believe that the wound has healed. Post-operative dressings
Dressings are an important component of post-operative wound management. Any dressings applied during surgery have been done in sterile conditions and should ideally be left in place, as stipulated by the surgical team. It is acceptable for initial dressings to be removed prematurely to have the wounded reviewed and, in certain situations, apply a new dressing. These situations include when the dressing is no longer serving its purpose (i.e., dressing falling off, excessive exudate soaking through the dressing and resulting in a suboptimal wound healing environment) or when a wound complication is suspected.

B they inform the patient of their intention in advance.
C.a patient refuses to disclose information relevant to their care.
Patient Confidentiality
Confidentiality is central to trust between doctors and patients. Without assurances about confidentiality, patients may be reluctant to seek medical attention or to give
doctors the information they need in order to provide good care.
However, faced with a situation in which a patient's refusal to consent to disclosure leaves others exposed to a risk so serious that it outweighs the patient's and the public interest in maintaining confidentiality, or if it is not practical or safe to seck the patient's consent, information should be disclosed promptly to an appropriate person or authority. The patient should be informed in advance that the doctor will be disclosing the information, provided this is practical and safe, even if the doctor intends to disclose without the patient's consent.

Exception-based question( here discussed.)
First look at the paragraph structure of this type of question.
🎀Topic sentence= a general statement.
🎀Supporting sentence=general rule( generally what is done)
🎀Supporting sentence two=exception ( what is an exception)
🎀Developing sentence=exception (situations in which are excused from the general rule.)
In this session:-
Dressing are an important components of post-operative wound management. ( topic sentence)
Any dressings applied during surgery have been done in sterile conditions and should ideally be left in place, as stipulated by surgical team.(this is general rule of dressing .that means supporting sentence ).
It is acceptable for initial dressings to be removed prematurely in order to have the wound reviewed and in certain situations, apply a new dressing.
( this is an exception from general rule of dressing - means supporting sentence two)
These situations include
🎀 dressing falling off,
🎀 excessive exudate soaking through dressings
🎀when a wound complication is suspected.
NB:- IN EXCEPTION BASED QUESTIONS THE ANSWER WILL NOT BE IN FIRST PART OF PARAGRAPH , MOSTLY IT WILL BE AFTER AN EXCEPTION AND LAST PART OF PARAGRAPH.
Task analysis clues -
In first option nursing staff can remove a dressing if (A) a member of surgical team is present.
Bt in text it's opposite to option A.
Text says should be left in place
In option C
Nursing staff can remove a dressing if
C)they believe that the wound has healed.
Bt in text it says that dressing can be removed prematurely which is opposite to this option.
That is this option says we can remove dressing only if the wound has healed or matured.
In second option we can see the answer.
Nursing staff can remove a dressing if
B)there is severe leakage from the wound.
In text exactly we can see this.
excessive exudate soaking through the dressing.
Synonyms
Excessive= severe
Exudate=leakage
Synonymous language
Soaking through the dressing =leakge from the wound.
Severe leakage = excessive exudate.
Paraphrasing
Excessive exudate soaking through the dressing=severe leakage from the wound.
From task 1.
Topic sentence is
Confidentiality is central to trust between doctors and patients.
Supporting sentence is
Without assurances, about confidentiality patients may be reluctant to seek medical attention or to give doctors the information they need in order to provide good care.
Supporting sentence two is
However, faced with a situation in which a patients refusal to consent to disclosure leaves others exposed to risk so serious that it outweighs the patients and the public interest in maintaining confidentiality
Synonyms
Refusal =failure
Risk = danger
Synonymous language
Failure to break the patient confidentiality = refusal to consent to disclosure
Paraphrasing
Put other people in danger=leaves others exposed at risk.

Goodevening father, sorry for delay,I couldn't attend that zoom section because of my duty schedule, but I watched vedio,I understood about exception based question
What is the structure of paragraph & in this type of questions answer will be in the last portion. We should understand synonyms, synonymous language & paraphrasing.
We should keep one big book for writing these synonyms ,synonymous language & paraphrasing, for that we should separate into 8 portions.
We must have patience & consistency for practice.
Be a member of main group & be a member of whatsup community.
Daily atleast one hour we need to keep for study purpose.
Thank u father,God bless u more & more.
I am a beginner this video is very helpful for me. I got a good chance to learn how to practice exceptional based questions.

Learning experience
Step-1
It was a wonderful experience. As a beginner, I got a chance to know about basic requirement needed for OET reading and listening section. Father explained about it in brief without making it monotonous.
In the section, Father discussed about exception based question. It is one of the types of questions that will be asked during OET exam. The topic was "Changing of dressing post-operatively. He taught us about:
a) Contrast word
b) Synonyms
c) Paraphrases
Based on these factors, he taught us how fast we can eliminate the wrong answers and find the correct one.
I personally thank Father Saleen Joseph and team for the great effort.
Concerns:
a) Even though explained well, in some areas,I felt he went very fast and as a beginner it made some confusions. But he answered all doubts.
b) Expecting more challenging tasks in the upcoming classes.
