Is the swith supports widescreen monitors? I have a 3440*1440 120 Hz G-Synch screen with my gaming PC and would like to use my setup with the switch on my work laptop when working from home.
This is what it supports: ● Ultra-High Refresh Rate: HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2 & DisplayPort 1.4a (USB-C) compliant. Supports up to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4. Also supports high refresh rates like 1080P@240Hz/165Hz/144Hz/120Hz, and 2560×1440@144Hz/120Hz, ensuring wonderful gaming experiences.
Hi Manuel, yes the MacBook Air will work with this but due to a chipset limitation, you can only run one external monitor. @Stephx2023 Unfortunately all MacBooks do not support multiple monitors on the same USB-C connection. You can use two monitors, but they'll be in mirror mode. The only way to do 2 monitors on a MacBook currently is to use two different ports (USB-C and USB-C or USB and HDMI). That or use an external graphics card solution.
When connecting to the laptop, can you have one display as the primary, and the other as an extended display (ideally i would not even use the laptop display)? Every review I see shows screen mirroring only when switching to the laptop.
If you read the manual, on the late mac you need a USB-C cable that supports DP alt mode and DP MST mode. Unless you have a Mac ARM (M1/M2) should work fine.
Hi, can you please share your connection set up? Bought this model, but not able to use both monitors at the same time to switch between my desktop PC and laptop.
A regular dock is basically just expansion ports that connect to your laptop. This dock connects to two computers at the same time and can switch between them with a click of a button.
A great review, clear and to the point! One clarification; if I have understood correctly, to be able to expand your PC desktop to 2 monitors you need to connect both PC outputs to the C10 inputs (HDMI and DP). Is that correct?
It could work with one console and a pc, but not two consoles. This is because this uses HDMI for one input and USB-C for the other. So if you did two consoles, a Switch via usb-c and the other via HDMI would work.
@@EricReviews Thanks for replying. So basically this KVM/Doc doesn’t have display link or anyway to support dual monitors? My current (very cheap) doc has display link and allows my MacBook Air M2 to have three monitors including the laptop itself. But now that I want to do a hybrid set up, I’m considering the simplest option.
@heDriver There aren't any KVMs that are display link compatible. Without changing your computer or buying an eGpu, I think your best bet would be to daisy chain your current dock into a KVM and should achieve the same end result
Yes that should work if your laptop can connect to monitors via USB-C (most modern ones can). The audio would transfer through HDMI and the KVM will handle the switching.
And about the audio port? One would assume it swtich between devices as well. Question about the front ports, does they also have the virtual emulation? Or is it only for the video input?
Hi. Is it a big deal that the output ports from the kvm to the monitor are only hdmi? Idk why but I feel like I would want a DP for that connection as well. Am i wrong?
Generally if you can mirror monitors, you can also extend them as well. Just go into your display settings and each monitor with have a choice between mirror and extend.
AV Access iDock C10 doesn't support extended monitor mode which mean you can only have two displays with the same content (mirroring mode). That's what AV support team clearly stated: question: "I want to buy KVM switch for dual monitor setup. I have macbook pro m1 2021 and windows PC. From what I see the best choice in my case will be AV Access iDock C10. Am I right?" 1. "For our iDock C10,please note that when the USB-C connect to macbook and two monitors would be output the duplicate contentes, which is mirrored mode,is this acceptable for you?" question: "Having duplicated content is definitely not what I am looking for. I was sure it would work in extended monitor mode (not sure if it's the correct naming for this mode). Do you have any solutions that can help me to achieve this?" 2. "But sorry that we not have the Dock can support work with macbook thru the single USB-C cable to output with extended mode now. It is our next generation which would be use two USB-C port instead of current one USB port in iDock C10,but maybe need around in July."
Anyone know if this can be used to switch between two M1 Macbook pros (USB-C) and one Apple Studio Display? Been looking for a solution for this for years now.
I reviewed the Hyper Dock a month or two ago. You can find the video on my channel. Beside that one, I don't really have any other thunderbolt docks unfortunately.
No that won't work with this one since the USB-C connection connects to both HDMI. This company does have a few other KVMS that will work. For that, you'll need one that uses HDMI for both PCs. This is assuming you mean displayed one at a time. If you want them both displayed but only switching keyboard and mouse, your best using a USB only switch such as this one which worked great for me. amzn.to/3vJSiTK
@@EricReviews Does this mean It can work with only using a usb-c connection for my laptop (pc 1) and only display port connection for my desktop (pc 2)? or it is required to use the HDMI + USB-B connection.
Awesome! Its a neat little pc. Mine is still running a 2080 TI. I don't need to get 100fps at max settings so the 2080 is still more than enough for me.

Good point. Though it's worth mentioning this is not a fault of the Dock, but macbooks themselves. Mac made a dumb decision to not allow multiple Monitor streams over a single USB c cable, meanwhile windows has been able to do this for a while. Because of this, using 2 seperate usb c cables or a dock with 2 usb c inputs is the only way for a dock and dual monitors to work on a mac

Hi Eric. Do you know if it's possible to output an image from the USB-C port on the front of the KVM? Thanks for the excellent review!
