Michael Been, the lead of the group The Call that put this song on the charts in '89 died at the age of 60 on August 19, 2010, in Hasselt, Belgium, of a heart attack while at the Pukkelpop 2010 music festival where he was on-tour as a sound man for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Like the original better, but this is still awesome.
Why the hell is this music not mainstream. Good old fashion rock and roll , great singer, great band who play great instruments. God I miss that. Outstanding song from outstanding artists.
I knew this Awesome band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, just the name is great, for a certain time, I liked it... but I didn't see this Vidéo and listen to this SONG !!! images illustrating so well the great lyrics. That is powerful ! BRMC stay under the radar? Fine! keep going this way
What an excellent version of your dads song. I’m 66 now and remember just absolutely crankin the shit out of this on my 4 big ass marantz speakers! Real rock forever👍🏻
I have been a Call fan since the 80's and always loved this song, this is an awesome tribute from a son to a father. This version kicks ass!! Michael is smiling every time this played!!
Yes--Michael Been died of a heart attack while working as a sound man for this band. They covered this song as a tribute to Robert's father. I think it's just a KILLER cover and a beautiful tribute. LOVE the video.
WOW--I've never heard this "side" of it...I know it's Michael Been and the Call's song, and listening to it makes me feel POWERFUL and uplifted. Hearing these guys do it, I feel magic and joy and tingly all over.
This account,I was locked out from the phone. And the machine it did was "viral" to unwanted link repetitively/despitively/deceptively/deceptionly and even the little things that you so call "membabi buta" seperti ayah yang pariah.
Great Song, so sorry to hear about Michael, the Call was one of my favourite bands in the early 80's, great lyrics and with real intelligence and emotion.
Just finished watching The Wild One (again). Lots of British made motorcycles (Marlon Brando rode a Triumph, also noticed a Matchless). In this clip noticed an Indian female riding a Royal Enfield (another British motorcycle, revived and now made in India). Anyway, enough motorcycle trivia, cool song too!
It's beautiful seeing the day begin. Sitting in park talking to people spreading love not evil. Seeing how we all feel the same when we feel our love. Except for the ones ruled by fear. That hate will eat them alive. Love ❤ x
I saw The Call perform this back in 89' at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, and 20 years later I got to watch the son perform it, just down the street at the Showbox. Epic shows both.
This is the best video i could have possibly seen to pay tribute to the late singer of "The Call". :) You did a wonderful job of capturing the meaning of the words that he wrote for this feeling you obviously have. This is the best thing i have seen in months. Thank you. It gives me hope that some attitudes wont change.
I listened to The Call's Walls Come Down in the 80's, and then naturally other The Call music and of course Let the Day Begin. Simply an epic song from a friggin great band. And I've been listening to BRMC version for a number of years and only just learnt about the family connection, what a great story and another epic version. Awesome. Epic song to snowboard to.

The first time I heard this song was a couple of days ago live at InMusic festival in Zagreb. It blew my head off and the video is awesome too! Happy, hopeful and positive song. You guys fucken rocked, come to Croatia more often pleeeease!!! Peace..
Recommend the original version of this by The Call (you can find in RUclips)... It came out about twenty years or so ago and It's nice to see bands like BRMC keeping these tunes alive
this song just restored my faith in humanity. I now at 18 feel as if I should go out and start a group that helps starving 3rd world countries or just anyone in need.
Right now, I'm interested in this band and watching official videos and live videos, but it's amazing that each song has a different atmosphere and doesn't seem to be the same band's song.
Here's to the baby's in a brand new world. Love BRMC Long time now. Oasis 1st got me into them. These kasabian the libertines, my morning jacket felice brothers my best bands since oasis and verve. I got some ruff acoustic trax up here. Put in Ross Heathorn should come up. Flattery addiction song, my heart is sure, dig it all, thinking bout Roswell conspiracy. Another day tides blues sky and merry go round just listen make ya own mind up
One of the most underrated, under appreciated bands ever to walk this earth.

What is surprising to me is you never hear this kind of music on the radio.

So cool to hear the son’s band doing his dad’s music
Stumbled on this by accident, wow, lucky me, this totally rocks me of my feet.
This song should have 29 million views!!!
Amazing cover of this song originally done by "The Call"
Fucking awesome!!
Great band, great cover of a song written and performed originally by The Call, which was led by the dad of BRMC's leader...
Here’s to all humanity.
Here’s to all brothers and sisters.
Here’s is to peace.
My really good friend Ari Schaeffer was THE FIRST drummer for this band back in the day!
Very nice, Robert. You did your dad proud.
Fair play Duncan..
Hear, Hear.
I love this song!
This song its like fuel for me, I'm motivated every morning because of this... Thanks BRMC
Here in Russia I think this is the godlike music band.
Here in México, me too 💪🏻

A great tribute to his late father. The Call will forever be missed.
this video saved me from depression
It's beautiful seeing the day begin. Sitting in park talking to people spreading love not evil. Seeing how we all feel the same when we feel our love. Except for the ones ruled by fear. That hate will eat them alive. Love ❤ x

A perfect song and video for the times we are currently living in.
Great band, I love them, they are the best.
0:31 J.Kerouac...lenda! Além da uma ótima versão do BRMC 💙
this song reminds me ocean & sun, travelling, "digital nomad" kinda lifestyle picture. And of course pure happiness and freedom.
This is the first time I've ever listened to them. This is awesome.
Cada vez que veo éste vídeo siento una gran alegría y me invade el sentimiento de salir afuera a vivir alguna aventura alocada sin retorno
A nice rendition.. The Call would be proud, I'd expect.
Excellent job! I used to listen to the call all the time and this song by your Dad over and over! Crank it up and remember!
Great band! Just watched "The Wild One" with Marlon Brando again recently. The name of Brando's MC in the movie "Black Rebels Motorcycle Club".
11 лет, а как буд-то в прошлую эпоху заглянул )
Today i discovered that your Let the Day Begin is a cover from The Call. I absolutely love both. One hell of a song great work.❤
This is the best video i could have possibly seen to pay tribute to the late singer of "The Call". :)

Good to see Michael Been and The Call getting such a great cover as this.
Absolutely brilliant 👏
Just heard this today and what a brilliant video
omgggggggggg!!!!! I love them love them sooo much! I got them inked on my arm last Sunday. :')
Robert Smith of The Cure should love this band! At times very dark. Even when they're not, still great.
The first time I heard this song was a couple of days ago live at InMusic festival in Zagreb. It blew my head off and the video is awesome too! Happy, hopeful and positive song. You guys fucken rocked, come to Croatia more often pleeeease!!! Peace..

This is a great cover of a great song!
Love this group
This is a song originally done by The Call, The BRMC bass player is the son of a member of the Call
Yes he is the late singers son.
Love this stuff!
God bless these early rising boys
Indeed - because I'm a night bird, and I never rise early, the night keeps me free.
I loved the original. Now I love both!
Recommend the original version of this by The Call (you can find in RUclips)... It came out about twenty years or so ago and It's nice to see bands like BRMC keeping these tunes alive
Because the late original singer's son is singing it to honor his dad Michael Been.
After all of these years I just realized that this is a cover.
But...a bloody good one!
Usually videos bore me, but i stayed till the end of this one.
Amazing song.
great song
A fitting tribute with it's own unique flavor. Well done BRMC.
Then you should know that this cover is being sung by the son of the lead singer from The Call.
I think be happy just listening to the drums and guitar at the beginning on repeat...
The cliff jump @.58 then the little girl hula-hoopin it up in perfict timing. My favorite parts, but it's All good.
So faz 11 anos que me dou com esses caras!!!!
this song just restored my faith in humanity. I now at 18 feel as if I should go out and start a group that helps starving 3rd world countries or just anyone in need.

I cannot get sick of listening to this, such an awesome cover! The Call and Robs Dad would be proud, thanks for an awesome gig in Auckland \m/
Enjoying the new video.... a progression in time
Good stuff. From one rebel to another!
BRMC has two "lead"singers... Depending on the one who made the song and how it sound with the instrumental sounds...
Like the Beatles. Except they had 4.
Die Jungs wurden schwerstens unterschätzt...💯🇦🇹💯
Very good track!!!!!!!.
Here's to the baby's in a brand new world. Love BRMC Long time now. Oasis 1st got me into them. These kasabian the libertines, my morning jacket felice brothers my best bands since oasis and verve.
