- Coko Clemons of SWV, Shanice, and Nicci Gilbert of Brownstone performs a Chaka Khan classic "I'm Every Woman" on their "Lady Soul Greatest Hits" tour in Japan. This song was also covered and made popular by the late Whitney Houston on The Bodyguard soundtrack in the 90's.

73 Lyfe No you was right especially at the start when Nicci and Shanice harmonized. Just later on that's when the background came in you can see them in parts of the video to the far right of the screen I think it was 3 of them.

Shanice is also a 1st Soprano like Coko but Shanice can go much higher, be more powerful, and far more agile. Don’t sleep on her at all lol Ive seen what she does to other sopranos that try to drown her out. She’ll take it there. Crazy how humble she is here and we’ve seen how nasty of an attitude Nikki and Coko have in reality tv and in documentary.
@@decholes95 Shanice doesn’t belt too much when she’s high it’s usually alot of mixing. Coko belts her full soprano range and her overall tone low and high is rich and full.

Coko is a beast. I knew she was not to be played with when she sang on gospel artist Brent Jones and TP Mobb’s “Midnight” she straight up killed it and she’s been consistent ever since, I’m hoping that she come out with a mainstream solo album or at least an EP.

Coko sounds current. The rest have amazing voices but they were giving "older" vibes.
Yeah imo coko was the reference vocal for a lot of the younger women r&b singers brandy, meelah (702),lil mo, nicole wray, gina thompson. At least they all sound very similar to her.
I keep coming back. Coko hit that “it’s” on “it’s all in me” so hard. Dam. Nicci Gilbert reacting to Coko singing the song down makes this even better. And Coko is singing the song down. I don’t even see whitney singing this part live nowhere.
Whitney didn't. Her upper chest register wasn't as high or strong as Coko's. Did you catch the part after the vamp where Nicci gives Coko her cue to keep singing?

@@KrewTelevisionAuthenticsWhitney has hit it before it has been said that she did it but y'all gotta understand Whitney smoke cigarettes so that affect that top part of her range and plus by the bodyguard era Whitney was in her 30s she wasn't gone hit them notes like that nomore now Younger Whitney hell yeah but coko doesn't smoke so that's how she hitting them notes but both Whitney and Coko got amazing upper register I love Whitney's because because her Mid register and Upper Register still got the same tone most singers when they get up there you can hear the switch but Whitney is all the way the same color and tone and that's what I love about her belts.
