That's hilarious! Thanks for the comment. 😆 The album is a 1978 US original in factory shrinkwrap. The simple clear plastic/pvc bag on top has been added afterwards of course - that wasn't the original packaging. The ring wear is on the album itself - no less than you'd expect after more than 40 years in storage.
Wow! What a find! Wish I'd bought the reissue of this a few years ago. Got a few others of theirs and they've done a great job remastering them. Would be nice to have an original like yours too. Enjoy!
Cheers jon - I was thinking about that reissue from the KISS box, or the recent German repress, but neither have the SQ that an original does, to my reading/understanding. So chanced my arm on this one, and it turned out OK. Could easily have been a disaster too! 😅
Yeah I was lucky this time - it's never happened before to me, but I can assure you the seller had no idea they were selling me a Promo, or I'm sure the price would have easily doubled! 😆👍 Thanks for the positive vibes.
@@joncandyfliprecords oh definitely probably 3 times the price !! I was just laughing at a comment somebody wrote about your video being fake??I don't think he knows too much about records anyway I can clearly remember my brother opening double platinum and having everything you had the hype sticker, order form, The sweet platinum Award And white inners 100% legit!! again great video!
@@raymorrow170 To cut through the plastic at the opening, you only need to place it in the opening a millimeter or so and slide it down, still keeps the plastic wrap on the cover without possibly damaging the cover or record.

@@joncandyfliprecords Records were so cool back then. I got a great deal on a KISS Unmasked unopened LP and was stupid and opened it to see if the poster was in it. I bought the record used at a shop and if I had kept it unopened I might have gotten $50 bucks for it back in 1987.
I'm cringing, watching him with those scissors. I forgot about the award that was included. How cool!! (My age is showing.) Also, the track listing on the back of the release is a sticker. Is it affixed to the wrapper? I think so. May have been difficult/expensive to print atop that flashy silver finish. Personally, I like that they chose to respect the integrity of that finish.
Hey Jim! Thanks for taking the time. It's affixed to the back cover, yes - as a sticker. Still looks great after all these years - but, best you get one that's been well cared for, possibly even still in it's shrink wrap! ;)
No mate - I'm keeping the rest of the shrink on. It's one thing opening up these sealed beauties to get to the records, but don't ask me to tear off the whole thing.
For the love of GOD don't open it! Ahhh too late! The value just decreased substantially! But hay if it's only for your enjoyment it's understandable. Great find!

Phony as hell. No album comes sealed in a zip bag with ring wear. FAKE NEWS!!

First album I ever bought with my own money, I was 7 and it was $10. I still have it 🤟
Mine opened up like KISS Alive & there were embossed images of all 4 of the guys
Wow how did you come across an original and sealed up kiss double Platinum pressing nice 👍💯
I did Ronald - I bought it from Discogs Seller 'philadelphiamusic' a few years back. It wasn't cheap, but I think, worth it 🏆

You need to buy a 'filleting knife ' with a thin blade, much easier to open / cut the shrink wrap.
Thanks for the tip Philip. 🙏
But wouldn't you rather see me almost make a complete mess of it? 😆
No.@😮😢

I just came back to rewatch this video. I noticed that the cover has been sliced meaning it was put in the sales bin. .
That’s correct.

Yes that's exactly where it's come from - the notch in the cover edge comes from the retailer. 👍

I would not I’m sorry my friend. One of my fave bands from when I was a kid and a very sentimental album to have too. ❤️🩹
