These guys were fast.Too bad I wasn't able to record them doing the asphalt paving. When I went back they were already gone. Did you get the Super Clean stuff yet?
These guys aren’t letting any grass grow under them that’s for sure! What type of camera are you using Allen the clarity is great! Happy holidays to you and your family 👍🏻
I'm using a Panasonic camera that has 50x zoom. It's not the newest or most expensive camera out there but it does a nice job. The zoom on it is why I like it so much. Happy holidays to you guys and your families too.
@@ConstructionMachineryChannel Hopefully were gonna have a new one early spring if one pops up at a auction for a price that is in the budget. Just here in a small town in cape Breton NS Canada the miller was coming from somewhere in Ontario and flipped not long after loading totaled the miller at least we got the money back for it.
Over here they usually don't have cabs from what I see in the Chicago area. It's odd to me that they don't because the cab would protect the operator from the sun and branches. Happy Holidays to you too!
we have alot of trees that overreach into roadways and low wires here aswell in the states so the cab wont work well. on big expressway/freeways a milling cab would work well because no wires etc.. ive ran mills for over 10 years and would never ask the boss to add one to any mill i will be running on town roads
Quick question.. I'm doing dinner research and all I need to know (I understand it varies from state to state) is there laws in place that determine the hours of operation for the milling machine in particular? There's a noise being heard and mostly heard at night (of all hours) and I'm just trying to eliminate sources to maybe find the culprit. Big respect to all the hard workers out there, in no way is this to shine a negative light on the industry or it's employees. Thanks either way!
I have no idea bud. These milling machines sometimes work all hours of the night to get jobs done. For residential areas I would guess they have to stop operating before 8 or 9pm.
One of the reasons I recorded this is because it was the first time I found a CAT milling machine working. They are rare to see around here, it's usually Vogele.
The cleanup on this job absolutely sucks. As the finish sweeper operator guy, I'd be fired if I left a job looking like that for the tack truck!! I know how to adjust a sweeper and run pattern... this operator is horrible. Half the time I seen him sweeping, he was spilling over (sweeping with a full hopper!)
While I was there recording he milled only this small area in the parking lot, it looks like it was a small area that they forgot to do the day before. Maybe the fact that it was such a small area is the reason for the cleanup this way?
Just curious do you work for an asphalt company in Florida? I also run a sweeper for an asphalt company in Illinois. Was thinking about making a move to Florida but am concerned about the pay since we’re union out here.
Nice video! That mill operator seems to be focused too much on going fast instead of doing a good job. Those Cat mills are nice machines.
They are nice machines, this was our first time finding a CAT milling machine. They seem to be kind of rare in these parts of the Midwest.
@@ConstructionMachineryChannel wirtgen and Roadtec really own the market in the milling space.
Agree, almost every milling machine I've recorded has been a Wirtgen. I did get a Roadtec one though. Both seem like nice machines.

I know. I have a new found respect for the guys on here that are making it work. It's a ton of work to grow a channel.
Who leaves twelve inches of asphalt next to the concrete?
Mill operators who have chewed up curbs before lol
A marginal operator. He had his hands full just loading the trucks lol
A CAT operator? :P
Very good Video
Appreciate you watchig, thanks.
Awesome!

That asphalt looks to nice to be ground up
The rest of the parking lot was in need of a mill.
My local town was gonna be getting one of these until the truck hauling it flipped over into a ditch.
Ouch, that's not good. Are you still going to be getting one? What town is that?

It really is interesting to watch the milling machine, a lot of people have no idea how old asphalt is stripped. Thanks for watching too.

Thanks, I recorded it in Naperville. Not far from some of the places you record trains at. It was near I-88.

Why was he so far from the gutter and curb? Seems like a waste of time missing all that then gettimg the skid steer to breal the rest out
Not sure, I do know that they were in a hurry to get that milling machine to another site.
Pretty stupid
