Jordan being by yourself checking those high nest you should make some hooks on the end of that ladder, kind of like a roof ladder we use in the fire service. Hook the beam and it won't slide out from you. This is NorDak_Yooper btw.
the tall stuff you were cutting to feed the goats looks like Sudan Grass. It definitely gets tall and is great forage especially if you cut it a couple times thru the year.
That looked like bamboo ya were feeding to the goats, that could make some nice blind material🤔Also are those new water buckets working out and keeping the water cleaner? That was some sketch ladder action.. maybe a mirror or go pro mounted to a pole would help with nest checking. You could even mount mirrors above the nests permanently for checking. You can use a paint or pool pole for some extension and I've used a golf ball retriever for a nice compact setup. Congratulations on all the new pigeons but sorry to hear ya lost one. Great videos, thx and be well Jordan. P.S. I just found a new channel "sous vide everything" just seemed like something you may be interested in.
Never thought of using it as bling material! The buckets are working to an extent, I cut the holes to big so they bath in it. What’s the fun in checking nests if there’s no danger involved? Lol
Also you should leave the egg if a nest only has 1 egg, even if its cold, since they wont sit on them until the 2nd egg is laid so they hatch as close together as possible.
Hey Jordan, really like the vids so keep them coming and by that I mean stay off that LADDER!!!! Really, take some 18 inch long 1/8th flat steel and make a hook on one end and screw to each of the ladder legs. Hook them over the rafters to keep it from going anywhere. Be safe bud👍
pigeons are good at begging even if you gave them food earlier.....good job on holding back feed ,we could see them more at feeding time& not looking so wild.
Pigeons breed all year long if you let them. Also they like to make nests out of pine needles. But it looks like you gave them some. The male will bring the needles to the hen and she builds a nest. I had one pair that would build a HUGE nest.
Jordans Harvest when I had pigeons on the farm in Kansas they had round after round all year. The winter weather didn’t even stop then. Some breeds do reproduce slower than others. And some pairs are better/worse. I will be getting some again. They are fun and easy.
Man Jordan my ole lady isnt too keen on you and Bobby! This weekend I was cleaning out part of my wood shed to start a loft and she asked what I was doing I told her and let me tell you it was the end of the world!!🤣😂🤣😂 like I told you it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!! (I told her I had already bought pigeons and needed to pick them up this coming weekend)
Just got a bunch of old dutch Capuchine squeaker in. I lost most of the flock (aka one lived) after someone's dog got into my loft. My loft my service dog comes in with me so they are use to seeing a dog and never getting hurt. Sadly dog got in and one few away (yet to be found) dog killed all but 4 then one by one died of complications of the dog attack was down to 2. I thought a hen and a cock but he died in his sleep. The vet said it was a blood clot from his bites. Then just had the blue bold ODC hen. So found a flock yesterday of squeaker got 6. Some blacks, some yellow, some almond, got 3 grizzled and all are balds. Plan to get Fantails and Old German Owls too.
Jordans Harvest I feel I do to mostly hens by the looks of it. 1 I know is male for sure a nice black bald. I forgot in my original comment to say "what I thought was a hen and cock" next I was going to say when I got in the squeekers my Blue "hen" that lived though it all "Pidove" was a male all along was displaying cooing loud and picking fights with the for sure male I just got in. So works out since was looking like I had 1 cock to 6 hens so good to know it's 2 to 5 is a tad better. But gladfully I didn't get any birds related so can breed male offspring to other hens. Going to my first show the 26th of Oct. If I Remimber to film my set up there I will. Sadly have no computer and a potato as a cell I film and try an edit on (it keeps malfunctioning when I edit so I stopped editing) so will be a pretty short video update is all so don't get excited can't even do long and not even the edits in your videos. Anyway I plan to do pigeon updates now I'm healing from surgery and have more then one fancy pigeons
Jordans Harvest sorry I went on a tangent. Yes I have a good assortment can play with colors so on and grow from here. Hope the one hen that flew the loft is ok and can get her home we did find her days after she went missing but could not capture her. Lost sight of her a week after that trying hard to capture her. She was my best breeder and sticks out with her markings. Was upset she got out.
Please attach some hooks to the top of your ladder so you can hook it over the beams, you're scaring the sh** out of me! Also you could use a thick permanent marker and draw shapes/numbers on the underside of the nest buckets to make it easier to remember which nests are active.
Hey man just a pegion tip for ya. Yo nests are to high, get them down to 3 to 5 feet plus put them 2 to 3 feet next to each other. If u want them to breed more
Always hitting the thumbs up before watching. Awesome birds.
Keep on keeping on
Thanks Moore! I appreciate you dude

Hey dude! Adding hooks seems to be the popular opinion! I might just give in and make some
LOL just before the latter slide and you said the sketchyist of sketchy ladders I thought now that looks sketchy.
Gotta keep life interesting somehow! Lol
Love your videos! You should put a mirror on a telescoping pole so you can check nests. Lol your ladders make me nervous.
But where’s the adventure in that? LoL!

I don’t think it’s sudan but I don’t know for sure. But sudan is a great fodder for sure!!!
Great video Jordan love you videos man

How do you make does bucket nest bowls
I just cut them in half
Hi hope your having a great day.
Not the worst day ever! I hope yours is stellar as well!
Dude you need to screw some hooks to the to of that ladder. That was a close one lol 😂
It got my heart going for a bit lol

Good to know! Thanks
I tried to email you a picture of the antelope I got but it won't let me
That’s not cool! I’ll double check and make sure I have it listed correctly

can we have pair birds for my son?
Hey jordan ...🤣

I need to spend more time with them in the loft. I’m hoping to be able to make more progress this summer!
Nice vid bro

Btw I so need to get buckets. I use old jugs cut up for water and feeders. Don't have a free supply like you but use what I got for my loft.
That’s a sad story. It sounds like you have some beautiful birds to rebuild with! I hope all goes well
