Keep care of that supercharger, they are going up in value alot! as they are getting hard to find. I see them going for more than that 4runner is worth lol
I know where one is in a THRIFT STORE sitting loose on top of what looks like a 3.4 engine strapped on a rolling cart . Guy tried to sell me the whole engine but wouldn't say a price said it was a race engine and it needed top end rebuilt but that all the stuff to do was there brand new. I seriously doubt it was ever a race engine and ill bet the motor is toast, im not interested in anything but the supercharger sitting loose on top. Its black and says TRD im gonna offer a max of 200 bucks tomorrow and if he takes it ill get it but not a penny more. Ive got a 99 4runner 3.4
Go grab that shit, if anything the motor might be a simple rebuild, it is a toyota motor. For $2k thats a good deal as these as kits alone go for $3-4k but you are getting a spare motor for rebuild or core
Lol for the love of god, clean that engine bay. Ive been building a 96 3.4 runner myself. Mad props, man. Im debating if i want to rebuild mine before install the blower or not. A clean engine bay seriously adds about $500 worth of value to an old yota. Easier to find leaks when everything is clean.
Yeah its not as immediately torquey as people think. You really start to notice the difference with a smaller pulley as the boost then builds sooner in the throttle range.
@@arcanum3882 The size of the pulley on the front of the supercharger is what determines how fast the guts of the SC spin. The faster the SC guts spin, the more boost you make. (Or to David's point: how low in RPMs you first notice.)
Hey man I just put the gen 2 s/c on my 3.4! Did you get the 2.2 or 2.1 inch pulley? And do you know what boost your getting? I'm at 5psi with stock pulley...
I was going to suggest swapping the pulley and getting the associated tune for it. Should make quite a difference. It's also non-intercooled from the looks of it.
I was givin a 1995 t100 with the 3.4 it had a cracked radiator and some body work and stains on the inside I’m about 3-4K deep into it now and thinking about getting it supercharged since I just ordered a 5 inch lift and 2 in spacers
He got the supercharger done but should've replaced the other parts recommended when supercharging. Like fuel pump, iradium plugs, larger injectors/7th injector/meth injection, and for optimum output a tune.
Lmfao!!! Can definitely tell you boys are some true floridians. I need to get my hands on a TRD supercharger and shred up the streets through the greater seffner area😂
Hey man, question the nipple closest to the throttle body is it supposed to be capped ? Cause I have supercharger on my Tacoma and it’s running lean so I’m thinking it’s missing that cap cause it’s sucking air from there
I want one so bad on. My 4 runner I have a 2000 Toyota 4runner 3rd gen 4x4 automatic. How can get your guys helped I would really appreciate that. I live down in New Mexico south of Albuquerque 20 mile s south I have a shop just would love to get a whole crew as good as you are dealing with it
if you like the sound get a ford from the early 2000s late 90s and take out all the power steering fluid lol. or if you have a ford and hear the whinning you need power steeering fluid or the pump is going out
Dayum people out here trying to get their hand on one of them, these kids just trashing the thing haha, I'm guessing it was a handed down car and donated supercharger🙄... great job fellas you have just discussed all Toyota fanboys 👍
@@Clapped_Out_Customs You definitely need larger injectors/7th injector/meth injection and higher flow fuel pump and iradium plugs to feel the rewarding performance of that supercharger.

they still sell them today minus the trd badge
You can buy a brand new on for the same price as a used one. Supercharger/ turbochargers arent cheap
I'd only you can find a forerunner lol

I have the TRD supercharger on my 2000 3.4 Tundra, that thing is a lifesaver. I wouldn't be able to tow or haul anything heavy without it
This is some Florida shit, and I love it.

The blower ended up blowing the head gasket. the original head gaskets on these trucks are about at there expiration date.
@@Clapped_Out_Customs whats a typical expiration? Mine went out at around 150k
@@Clapped_Out_Customs i dont think the blower is what made the head gasket go 😂

Totally agree air filters and new bearings are so over rated. Best to break in fresh rebuilds that way as well.

407! Orlando/Kissimmee that's amazing to see if that's what the 407 in ya name means. What a gnarly sounding 4runner

Mad respect to the guy just getting his busted hoop home. 'yep... I'm doing it'! Lol.
You guys sure are good at riggin. Subbed 🤟🏻
I got a 3.4, any idea if adding a supercharger will make the engine and tranny wear out a lot faster than without it?
Did you guys rebuild the auto transmission? Didn’t look to be manual.
Man, I wish I had one to put on my 97, it’s the same color as yours too 👍🏼
Awesome, just writing the word, "Supercharged" on the truck make it an 8seconds car

What a rig bros
That's pretty sick!!
If you did a full exhaust and tuned it do you think you guys could get under 8 seconds for a 0-60 that would be fucking awesome
Did you leave the stock injectors in?
Awesome build guys!
7th injector really wakes this thing up
More air but not more fuel. I'd say you don't understand how it works

Nope
Whats the differenz in figures?
Torque and power?
Factory listed horsepower is 183 and I with super charger it is approx 250. Stock torque is around 220 I think, but no idea with supercharger.
Great build!
verrryyy nice
Will but that supercharger once you guys burn that motor and transmission...
You go to fsu I swear I seen this car I didn’t know what u actually did to it 😂
haha yeah that was me. It blew the head gasket with the supercharger and only made it back to school thanks to a bottle of head gasket sealant

Nothing at all.

slow motion for me!

The TRD only gives it about 7lbs of boost. Good for about 260hp.
