Hi Jesse! Thank you so much for sharing a video about your wild dolphin swim experience with Dolphin Swim Australia! It was really lovely to meet you, Matt and family and I'd like to thank you all once more for choosing the wild option. There are a few comments here regarding sharks which I'd like to address - I hope you don't mind. Shark attacks are generally a case of mistaken identity and involve a single person (unfortunately, usually a surfer) where there is a lot of disturbance in the water and the shark thinks they are a seal or similar (sharks do not naturally feed on humans). Our swim takes place underneath the front of a 52' ocean-going catamaran with 6 guests and 1 swim leader attached to a rope strung between the two bows. This is actually a bit daunting for a shark and not somewhere they would normally go to look for food. We only put guests in the water if dolphins are already relaxed and swimming back and forth between the bows of the vessel (ie we don't just drag people through the water hoping that the dolphins will turn up). If the dolphins lose interest and disappear, then we get the guests out of the water and look for more dolphins. We also have a dedicated staff member who is a Marine Mammal Observer and that person determines whether or not we should swim with those particular dolphins, as well as noting any agressive posturing from the dolphins that would indicate predators in the area. Also (and more for the comfort of our guests who are worried about sharks), the swim leader who is in the water with the guests wears a shark shield attached to their ankle, which is a device that emits electrical impulses as a deterrent to sharks. I hope this helps to dispel any fears people have regarding our activity, but am also happy to answer any questions people may have. Lesley :-)
Dolphin Swim Australia well said. You all do amazing work and the knowledge you all have is great. Thank you for the amazing experience. we will be back!!

I am so Sorry for your that you lost your footage. But it is more worth what you have seen with your eyes and feel there. Nothing can take this away. Memories last a lifetime.
It's such a privilege to be able to swim with these amazing creatures. And I'm not surprised you were a little intimidated by the open ocean. The dolpin swimming experience in MAURITIUS is very very different. Much quieter and calmer. The sea is warm so no wetsuit and just you and the skipper and the sunrise and pods of 20 or more dolphins all around you. It's far less intimidating. A magical encounter for sure.
This is just incredible!!! Not just the great footage of the experience but Jesse, your enthusiasm is 100% contagious!!! We all in Arizona want to go!!!
You are just such a darling sweetheart Jesse! Such innocence in what you are saying. I guess that's the mom in me LOL! I appreciate you sharing this! I've always thought swimming with dolphins would be awesome!
I have been waiting for this video forever - thank you for sharing your experience. Although I grew up by the ocean, I am terrified of what is in there, not just sea animals that can burn me, bite me or eat me, but undercurrents and such - you are by all means not the only one terrified of what you cant see under the water.
Jesse, It is fabulous that you guys did this trip. Swimming with dolphins, wow. I think the more you expose yourself to the sea or whatever scares you, the more you get used to it and are not scared. I love the sea, grew up by the sea, but even though we go in, just a little fear of what I will step on or sharks. It was a beautiful video and thank you for sharing! Do it again!
So happy for you. I feel exactly as you do about the ocean. It’s so huge and scary. But the rewards are so worth working through whatever fears I had. I swam with dolphins in Mexico. Not out in the open ocean but in a bay. It was such a thrill. And once while way out in the sea fishing for tuna, an enormous school of dolphins suddenly appeared and swam along side our boat. Watching them jumping and what appeared to be playing as we sped along was amazing. They stayed with us for several minutes and then they were gone. Beautiful animals. It’s a memory I treasure. Life is certainly very good!
What an awesome experience seeing wild dolphins and being able to be that close to them ....💙 . Just that little bit of video you got of the dolphins was amazing and the baby , awww .
I wouldn't dare ! Looks like they kept you all in a giant fishing net. Poor Matt didn't like his hair not being perfect. Nice video and experience for you 3. 🎥
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us! You're an amazingly kind person and all around gentleman to both humans and animals and your videos help with my depression by making me remember that there are kind and funny people out there
Love you telling the story. How you felt showed in every word. Did you not get out of the net and be free with them? You are blessed in so many ways. Thanks for sharing all the things you do.
Jesse, thank you for making this video. And congratulations on overcoming your terror and getting in the water. All goo. So happy to see you. We all miss you, even when we know you need to take breaks.
I was nervous just watching this 😬😄.. I have never swum or been that far out at sea and not likely to either, but after watching what's involved and how its handled I bet it was a lot of fun! So lovely to see wild dolphins for a change. Thanks for sharing this experience 😊
Hi Jesse, You should definitely consider looking into finding the orcas they’re absolutely breathtaking!!!! Exactly as you experienced waiting & hoping to see a dolphin. My experience was super similar telling myself I’d consider myself blessed to just see one & then it happened. This massive majestic dorsal fin breaks through the water top followed by the powerful release of air from their blow hole, absolutely life changing. I was in awe to spend time with one pod of orcas playing & swimming up to our boat but we ultimately hoped & wanted to experience seeing the super pod. Super pods are different families of orcas migrating & there was a day we were in view of 50+ orcas in the wild. To stop, sit & simply spend time watching them come & go as they wanted was absolutely amazing. You’ll love it. I’m sure you’ll find a safe & reputable tour experience near you but our experience was on the North end of British Columbia Island in a very small cove Telegraph Cove. If I remember right the super pods come through anytime from July through late August but no guarantee because they are living free in open waters as they should be. 🙂✌️💜
I live in Florida (USA) and I go swimming with Dolphins and also manatees. Both of them I do enjoy in the water. Here we can swim with this large sea mammals. It's so comforting to be so close to them. I have the freedom to go and see them everyday. I'm glad you and Matt had that experience. Something you can share for the rest of your lives. Love both of your platforms. vid/fl/usa
Your statements about the two parties choosing to play together in the wild is a great to share -especially with folks who don’t really understand that lots of swimming w dolphins is done under forced, enslaved conditions for captive dolphins and not organic natural like this. It’s really beautiful to state as you did🧚🏼♀️ You guys really love animals and that’s beautiful.
How cool, my husbond is a educated diver and has been backpacker in Australia. They dived at great barrier reef and he saw sharks. You are so lucky with all your experiences, all good things comes to nice people you know!!!!
Grew up in Florida and was more curious than afraid of what's down under. My father used to take us to a place called Titusville Beach with our smallish fishing boat, there were multiple islands we would head to in the boat, the dolphins would be so close jumping and swimming alongside you could touch them, it was great fun, and Thank you Jesse for asking. So proud of you for overcoming your fears, looks like it was another special moment for you and Matt.
So cool! About 10 years ago I took my son on a cruise to the Bahamas and, of course, went to play with the dolphins. I even got a kiss on the cheek by a movie star dolphin...he played Flipper in the movie. So glad you got to do this. It's definitely a once-in-a-lifetime thrill.
Super cool swimming with the Dolphins. Many years ago I got to enjoy them in a cove tour in Nassau. A real hi light of my trip that year. Keep up the videos its a treat from the horse to there upkeep, and your trips with Matt. I've enjoyed your shows and tricks with your horses too.
Yes, the captive dolphins are getting ulcers from stress & cancer from humans touching them. They are massively stressed, even the few that offer swim away options. I've had experiences while snorkeling in the Carribean where they chose to come up to our boat, sometimes while in the water. We all never tried to interact or swim after them. Usually after 20 minutes of investigating us - they were off & away. The babies are SO dang cute & haven't yet developed a fear of humans. Their mommas keep a close eye on them though. Please don't swim with dolphins at a resort. Many have been ripped away from their pod & are so unhappy.
Yes, Jesse, the ocean is so powerful, even with gentle currents. Dolphins are magical, wonderful & SO SO SO SO special. They make me wish I were a real true Dr. Doolittle.

I absolutely love dolphins..I get so excited ever time I see them in the wild. Last time we went whale watching on the NSW south coast we saw so many dolphins 🐬. Love you vlogs
Omg I love this! Looks so awesome and you were so brave to try something you were afraid off. I’m fascinated with the sea too but am scared to actually be in it. Lol 😂 I don’t normally go past my knees when I’m at the beach if I get in the water at all! Lol so I feel your worries Jesse! 💕
Dolphins are amazing! I love them since I remember. I'm so happy for you making your dream real! 😍 I like the idea looking for wild dolphins instead of keeping them in a aquarium~~ Also I'm impressed you overcame your fears, Jesse! Ocean it's a one thing... but Australia is known because of the horrified collection of spiders... and you hate them. So you are very brave!
Glad you took the leap ….. what a wild and special choice to meet and greet the Dolphins in their environment. Brave move and such an unforgettable choice.
We paddled out and swim with dolphins here in our local surf spot weekly! Every time is like the first - incredible! Come pack to South Africa! Its incredible here!
You conquered your fears and are an inspiration. Great job, Jesse! Growing up, I loved the show “Flipper”-about a dolphin. p.s. I chuckled at your comment about everyone sleeping. That was me on a whale watch after Dramamine. Motion sickness is the pits. Keep smiling! 😉
Bravo for being scared but doing it anyway! It is said, “Life begins at the edges of our comfort zones!” I have learned this is true! On to the next challenge!
That is something I have always wanted to do but like you I have a bad fear of water or rather what is in it. Loved this video and please do more. If you ever get state side try the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta it's one of the largest and best I've ever heard of. Never been, but they have a show on TV here and its amazing. Maybe you could look it up on line. What keeps me from going there is I also have clostrphobia problems. If you can get some videos on the place you will understand why. I agree also dolphins are enjoyed better in their habitat not a cage. Again thank you so much for sharing this, it was great and you even got Steven in there lol. Best always Rusty
Hi Jesse. Rich and I got to swim with the dolphins down on one of the keys in Florida. They were in this lagoon and I was petrified. The water was deep and you could not see the bottom. But we were with other people and all had on life jackets. There was a trainer too who told us how to interact with them. We held out our arms and 2 dolphins swam up from behind us and connected with our hands on their dorsal fin and dragged us thru the water. That was so cool. We got to do some other tricks with them too. I love dolphins like you do. They are such intelligent animals. But I was terrified of the deep water. I hate going into lakes too. If I can't see the bottom, I'm not going in it. That's why I like pools. I feel safe in them. I'm glad you guys got to be with the dolphins in the wild. It was an experience I will never forget and I'm sure you won't either. Happy New year to you both!! Cheers. Curtis.
Jesse, many people are wisely cautious about the big blue ocean….you are right: there are bountiful creatures in it and some of them can hurt you if you don’t know what your doing. You should be so proud of yourself confronting your fears! I mean, you went to AFRICA with your fear of spiders and camped out under the trees. I was born in Africa, I know what’s out there and YOU ARE VERY BRAVE! Now you are swimming in a big blue unknown….it seeems you enjoyed yourself? Matt should be thankful that you do so many challenging things against your fear. Anyway, what a wonderful world we live and and KUDOS for getting out in it! Just as a note: captive dolphins have a higher rate of exposure to HUMAN pathogens and can become ill from contact with us humans. I think it is vastly better to visit them in the wild…touching is not necessary to enjoy these majestic beings. We are lucky they want to come swim near us.
✨I’m with you Jesse, the very thought of being in open water makes me break out in hives. That is the home of many beasties I don’t care to bump into. Dolphins yes, are very special, you and Matt shared a great experience. Well done. You are braver than me.✨🐬
Glad you guys enjoyed this. From South Africa 🇿🇦 we go to southern Mozambique 🇲🇿 where I’ve been out deep sea looking for dolphins. We were only about 5 guys because it was outside of peak school holidays. The rubber duck dropped us in front of an approaching pod of about 50 dolphins. The boat went off trawling for fish and left us floating with the dolphins miles from land. The dolphins were not very sociable so they just swam through us leaving us miles from land with the boat nowhere in sight. It obviously did come back for us but not before one guy panicked at the thought of sharks eating his toes. Hilarious to the rest of us and overall a great experience. Also very good snorkeling and deep sea diving area in southern Mozambique🇲🇿. We never saw a shark fortunately.
Jesse Amazing experience. Glad you decide to enter the sea. I want to have that experience, cool that they dont chase dolphins, just try to find them. I didnt know the noise atrract them. I think those 3 dolphins ask the other to join, because they know you want to see them. Always a pleasure to watch your videos. I like a lot this vlogs videos, hope you can do more. Grettings from monterrey, mexico
I think we're twins Jesse. First falling asleep with coffee to love of dolphins but terrified of the sea. Well, I actually love Killer Whales, Orkas. Since they are in the same species as dolphins it counts. What an awesome experience.
Jesse It really touched me that you care about all animals! I loved that you spoke about swimming with wild vs captured dolphins. And that the “dolphins were not forced in any way.” I live near Cape Cod Massachusetts and love the ocean, but the shark sightings very close to the beaches are much more frequent than before. Not so much for sightings of dolphins though. The whales are common to see here and are majestic. The mother whales let their babies get next to the big whale watch boats. They are so curious.
OMG so COOL!!!!! This is just a bucketlist item for me like forever! And indead the wild thing that the dolphins actually choose the be there and stay is the best part of it!
Looked like an incredible experience, so glad you Faced your fears . I did the same thing only with Stingrays ... I was really freaked out but when I Was out there , it was so cool .
I feel you, also terryfied.. especially when you cant see the bottom!! I have swimmed with dolphins in Africa, we were on a boatride and they deciderad to stop for a while were it was a island (just sand) in the mittle of nowere. And when we were swimming from the boat to that little island it came dolphins, they were everywhere. 😂 so curious little creature! 😍
Jesse i totally get you about the ocean! There is so much we don't know about it so as much as I'd love to swim with dolphins i don't think i will ever manage to do it because i can barely get on boats 😂😂
You could make a video about making toast, and we would enjoy watching it, Jesse. I'm glad you overcame your fear of the water. I remember what that was like. I used to watch the dolphins riding our bow wave when I was aboard ship. They are fascinating creatures.
What a great experience 🐬 to be able to swim with them !! But like you I'm not big on getting into the ocean !! I like to be able to see what is coming towards me 😊😁!! I love all animals horses have been in my life from when I was very young my uncle had them on his farm and I fell in love ❤️🐴!! Animals are the best things on this planet 💜 we need to keep them safe from the creeps in this world !! 👍 One of my dreams is to ride a horse on the beach at sunset or sunrise it would be so magical to me !! Thank you for your videos and showing all your horses they are beautiful 😍!!

A great experience for you all, looked Amazing x
Oh God Jesse. You have me hooked already.
✨I’m with you Jesse, the very
thought of being in open water
makes me break out in hives.
That is the home of many beasties
I don’t care to bump into. Dolphins
yes, are very special, you and Matt
shared a great experience. Well
done.
Omg how excited you were explaining everything in the beginning. You're too cute.
Jesse
Amazing experience.
Grettings from monterrey,mexico
omg this is my dream I always wanted to swim with dolphins
I think we're twins Jesse. First falling asleep with coffee to love of dolphins but terrified of the sea. Well, I actually love Killer Whales, Orkas. Since they are in the same species as dolphins it counts. What an awesome experience.
Jesse
It really touched me that you care about all animals!
Excellent footage Jesse
We have dolphins around here and see them all the time even from the beach or driving over the bridge
Jesse, I love this video. Thank you. 🤗🧡
I also love a lot of animals, but I like to swim in the sea. It’s so overwhelming. 😃 🧜♀️
OMG so COOL!!!!! This is just a bucketlist item for me like forever! And indead the wild thing that the dolphins actually choose the be there and stay is the best part of it!
awesome time, thanks for sharing.
Looked like an incredible experience, so glad you
Faced your fears . I did the same thing only with
Stingrays ... I was really freaked out but when I
Was out there , it was so cool .
Yes, you are blessed, in a zillion ways. I hope you are always happy. Dolphin party, they knew you and Matt where there.
I’ve done this in Mexico and it’s the best experience ever
You could make a video about making toast, and we would enjoy watching it, Jesse.
I'm glad you overcame your fear of the water. I remember what that was like.
I used to watch the dolphins riding our bow wave when I was aboard ship. They are fascinating creatures.
First off, you’re cute. Second, I’ve always wanted to do this! That’s awesome you got to experience wild dolphins up close. 🙃
Amazing experience have done this too and loved it. Next time you should go snorkelling to the Great Barrier Reef , you would love it. 👍🖤🐬
