What I appreciate about you guys is that you are so down to earth and real and not flaky about horses. I am retired from horses because of health issues but I get my fix by watching what y’all post. My husband once told me about a guy who was having ego problems, and I told him that what that guy needed to do was put on a pair of bib overalls and clean all the stalls in a stable. It’s good for what ails you, very zen in its own way.

I don't know about that, they literally say in the video that they never had to do the normal chores at the stables before because someone always did it for them haha

When you say that everything will change for you in a couple of months, I find myself hoping that you don't mean you will be selling your beautiful home. Watching you bring your property to life has been such a thrill ride! I think many of your fans may actually feel an attachment to it. But moving the chickens, painting the stables, all the gorgeous upgrades to the house... sounds like you might be putting it on the market soon. Still, you two are nothing if not dynamic, so I am sure the next chapter will be even more exciting. Good luck and congratulations!

Their house and property are beautiful; I don't think they'd move to the busy road where the stables are located. It looks like they live only minutes away based on videos where they drive to the stables from their house. Once they are fully staffed, they won't need to do all the morning chores themselves. In the video, Matt said the people they have working for them at home will also help at the new stables.

Youll find when horses pee everywhere its usually solved by putting them in bigger boxes more suitable for their size , you can also take a patch of wet bedding of another male horse and put it in one area of horse causing the problem and quickly establish a designated pee patch for them. Ive used that method for years with stallions and geldings who didn't adopt one area, its very useful to do same in paddocks with poo aswell

  • @falconk9
    @falconk9 Год назад +6

pee attracts flies as well. I use stall pellets in mine - they absorb the pee and I clean it out each morning. I use shavings (mini flake) on top of the pellet. The pellet expands when it gets peed on. I use stable fresh spray on the pee areas once I clean them out, let it dry while the horses are outside for a couple of hours before putting new pellet/shavings down before I bring them back in. I have a fly system in my barn and cool Kurtains to minimize flies getting into the barn but keeping the pee smell out of the barn has really been the best improvement for reducing them.

Every time I take on a task like a major garden project, I think of the word "Herculean Task" ... and that reminds me of the story of Hercules cleaning the stables...
It reminds me of the time of my life I spent around horses. Very hard work but very satisfying. Also you get to know so much about your animal's well being from their poop.
I had a great teacher who taught me that rugging horses is very important, if done correctly it can regulate how much water they sweat or drink, which is more important than protecting them from the elements. I lived in a place where the weather could vary a great deal throughout the day so it was important to check that they are not too hot or too cold.

I bet you guys are buying the stables from your friend … aren’t you? Looks like there’s a house on the property, which means you may move there and you’re either renting out your resident farm or selling it.
So you’ll both own a large stable … similar to the ones you often take us on tours to. It’s a beautiful facility … I thought it held more than 30 horses, though.
Yes, there’s something so rewarding about caring for your own horses vs. stabling them out … I get a lot of enjoyment … and the horses really appreciate you for it … more bonding involved! 😊
That’s so correct about the hay feed … they need to graze continuously … else you run the risk of ulcers, etc. I learned that from my grandparents who ran a feed mill business for the local race track in Edmonton, Alberta (🇨🇦) … many, many years ago.
Keeping the stables clean makes all the difference … clutter causes problems, especially if Jesse has ADHD. Many of us are living with the same learning difference! It’s quite manageable for most … maybe a slight inconvenience for others but it is what it is!
Really happy for you guys having this wonderful opportunity … you can turn it into quite the horse business … maybe not as much travelling anymore but then you’d both be full-time horses … with the modelling when you had time.
Of course, I could be way off in my summation … looking forward to the next VLO and hope it’s not too long from now!
    Ciao! 🙏🙌

Ooooh, good question! Will you keep the Kingsley name or will there be a new name? New name suggestions everyone! The sale horses were under the Elite Iberian name, so maybe Elite Stables? Or a simple Harnake & Drent Stables? Maybe a combo of their last names, Harnakent Stable or Drenake Stable! Lolol. First name combo, Jatt Stables or Messe Stables! Haha. If it were me, I'd find a way to name it after the two horses that started it all, Chase & Annie. C&A Stables. ❤

New business ventures are always unsettling. I think your new program will be exciting. I would suggest you add to your
product line a special focus on the Star Stables that you include on your Internet business. There are many children who
love and own horses who would enjoy ordering, among other items for example, bright colored/rainbow colored mane and
tail extensions/bridles and saddle pads with matching bitless bridles -- equipment and fun items to express the joy in having horses in their lives which parallels the joy experienced in your Star Stables. Matt and Jesse symbolize a powerful bond of
love for horses. I think your new venture can expand to many international media areas as you expand potential markets to include horse lovers of many ages and interests--from the upper end of the performance horse pyramid to the more broad
base of people of all ages who love the playful characteristics of their own horses and those in the media. Best wishes.

It would seem like a very good idea. Are you going to breed the stallions is that a plan? You would have room then for visiting mares😉. Honestly it leaves you with lots of options and you can relax and hang out there instead of doing the horses and going home. Anyway I look forward to seeing your plans come to fruition. It should be fun to watch!

I'm curious: how long does that entire morning routine take? From the feeding all the way through the final cleanup of the aisle? And how long or far a drive is it from your home? Definitely a big investment of time, not to mention money. Your care for the horses is admirable proving once again how much you love these animals.

Happy for both of you. Agree, working with animals in every aspect of their care and life, gives more of a connection. Ie: know one of your horses pees a lot, could be something? if one day there is not a lot of pee. You may be able to see what is going on internally faster.

Having been a barn manager at several stables, I can tell you the horses are no problem, it's the people. Good luck! Why doesn't your staff feed? 8am is actually late for feeding horses. Nice barn and I really appreciate the clean and well-bedded stalls. Lucky you to have such a nice place. I can see why you wanted to stay there.

Good morning, afternoon, or evening Matt and Jesse. It’s 3AM in Florida now. There’s polo going on at Wellington in South Florida. Sounds like a good team. Plan your space and time so you have self time too. Renting and managing, please. This is so different. I always loved the smells of the horses chewing their feed and a clean stall with fresh bedding. Matt, you are a super manager. Good so.

Save that dirty hay and compost it. You can use the result next year in your gardens. One stable I used to board at had 2 huge piles that they sold for mushroom growing. You would need to research ax the piles may need by o be turned over at times to avoid too much combustion. Just an idea🤗
