CPU-central processing unit, refers to the chip such as Intel or AMD processor, I can even unscrew and take the Intel chip away from MB ( motherboard), but the Graphics card is soldered onto the MB, ....and all other parts of MB are fully functional, were you suggesting me to replace the MB? ( when you wrote ..."by replacing the CPU"...) ?? Thanks
msibanker sorry i miss somehow your comment with description of your laptop ! in your lap top case you have separate GPU .That is old model there is no integrated GPU in to CPU so you can replace that , just you need to read chip spec and search on aliexpress or google for more info please contact me on FB or mail Thanks
Question? Do you do this for clients? Just asking. Would pay for this setting how I don't have the time to do this.
Can i do this with my dell dell G3 3575 gtx 1050 ti, and replace it with a gtx 1080 ti

Can I do this with my Toshiba satellite l755-s5167
hi, when you remove the gpu does it leave little holes behind where the pins of the new gpu can be inserted?
no its solder balls .
What are you using to keep heat on the bottom of the motherboard while heating the actual card on top?
It looks like something that would provide heat but maybe I'm wrong.
I solder a lot for work but I haven't worked on computers in years and I'd like to get back into it.
Any links to equipment would be appreciated.
Robert Hartley Hi! as you see on video under board there is preheating device everything that i use is chinese brands like BEB or Best if you need more info please send me mail and i will send you links. Thanks
I know there are external graphics cards could be connected to laptops (as using cable m.2 ngff -hdmi) using an external dock/adaptor.. i ask if there are External docks/adaptors for mobile graphics card?
hi, i havent seen but if you find something let me know :) thanks
How did the gpu stick to the motherboard? It did not need soldering?
yes soldering with hot air there is solders balls under the gpu
@@PlasmaMan82 Yeah, sorry I didn't know that there are small solder balls in flux XD
So can i replace a GT 540m with the same pins on the board as long as the GPU replacement has the same pins? And considering as an upgrade?... I am talking about dedicated graphics btw. Not integrated.. :)
video is not upgrade its just replacment of bad GPU and if you have same chip yes you can replace
Bro is possible to change Radeon R2 graphics card or we can update?
Is this just to replace the same chp or yoy can actually upgrade your laptop?
EmetonVanDamme just replace of bad graphics not upgrade
What of you removed that chip and switched that PC without that GPU, would it automatically switch to Intel graphics?
Hi , this laptop was not dual GPU. But i assume in that case probably it will switch.
I know this is just a replacement video but since you have such knowledge can you tell me if it’s possible to upgrade soldered gpu?like mine is 950m rn,can I solder and use 980m?
This was literally my situation did you find an answer
@@YMOMYT No
Well i bought the 980m when it comes in ill go to a laptop shop and see if it is upgradeable if not ill lyk
I am thinking of performing one of these on a bad gpu on a 2017 razer blade, as someone who has never worked on such a level of technological repair, do you think I should do it myself for cheaper, or let someone else do it? Im really tight for cash, because I got the laptop.
Ethan Hartsfield , which model you got ?

Hi Plasmaman. I have an Asus x550vx with a gpu nvidia 950m and a cpu i76700hq. I can't play games on high resolution due to the gpu. Do you think I can replace it for another more powerful? In case of yes, which one would you recommend me? Where can I find the tools in order to do it? Thank you im advance
DZ due to power limit and pinout of GPU i don't think you can upgrade your current GPU ! its better to use extension for external GPU but in that case you will need monitor
Is it possible to just put an mxm slot on a motherboard and run an mxm 3.0 card??
Can we change a laptops current gpu to any gpu chipset we want?
no
Replacement and upgrade are different thing!
CAN WE REMOVE THAT CARD AND JUST LEFT IT BLANK SO WE JUST USE GRAPHIC FROM THE INTEL ? ? ?

I have a question, I own a laptop HP pavilion gaming 15 dk0068wm that comes with GTX 1050, is it possible to upgrade it to a newer GPU ? the same laptop has other models that come with 1050TI for example, would it be possible to replace the 1050 with TI ?
that should be possible i think the diferences is just clock but teoreticly it will consume little more power if your powersupply allow that than i dont see the problem
@@PlasmaMan82 can we add vram module from existing like 4gb to 8gb vram using gtx 1650ti

When the hot blower on theres no way back...
This video's great! If I don't care about the motherboard and just want to remove the chip do I need flux? :) Any help would be much appreciated
yes you need flux
Hello quick question. My laptop can't use the Nvidia graphics and can't update the driver. Tried everything RUclips and Google tells to do, doesn't work. Send to shop for repair, he said I need to format. Format it and it doesn't fix it. Then I Google for solution and it might be because I never service the laptop. Do you think that's the cause? Will servicing my laptop will fix my graphics not functioning? Or the graphics is damaged for good?
is your laptop with dual GPU?
Hello, please, could you Tell me If I can change my GPU of Dell Alienware?

Is it possible to replace GPU (nVidia GeForce GT650M) in an old HP Envy DV7 laptop with something more powerful, like GTX1070? Is there any chance this could actually work?
@@Greg74948 Hi, no but there is a option to use 1070 with riser , check youtube for tutorial.
It was pretty interesting to watch.
Don't you have them problems with TDP (if the chips had it different) and driver issue?

just replacing the old one its not different model

Hi PLASMAMan. Is it possible to replace the Nvidia GT 525m gpu on my Dell XPS L502X laptop? The gpu crashes often, most often when its connected to an external moniter from HDMI. It somtimes will recover and give a "LiveKernelEvent

Does this work for upgrading your GPU? I have a 1660Ti on my laptop at the moment… would this work for moving to a mobile RTX GPU?
Hi, this is not upgrade, but replacement of bad GPU chip
@@PlasmaMan82 I understand that… but could it theoretically be done? :)
Very instructive, thanks.
