PC Wood probably never put the search record in the system in the hope that AB would just not bother trying to obtain it. Once someone turns up at a police station asking for the record they contact the officer who begins the process of entering the details into the system, no proof of wrongdoing but we all know what their game is. AB please invoice the Chief constable for your time, keep sending the invoices getting more threatening with each one eventually raising it to petty debts. Wood distinctly told you he would provide a record of the search after the search was complete, he lied which has caused you wasted time and effort, the local force should be accountable for this. Keep a copy of each invoice sent for future reference.
