You can rarely have too much public transportation in a city.
You have been watching too much Biffa when: You are watching the Bourne series, and the best scene is when you see an asymmetric road during a car chase!
Biffa I think you need to add "[insert %] traffic flow" to the bingo list! You don't seem to say it as often now, so maybe it could be a higher scoring phrase?
So who else was screaming at the mono-rail issue saying "YOUR JUNCTIONS ARE TOO CLOSE THERE IS NO SPACE!!" LOL I also liked the doing nothing with the monorail, other than deleting a couple of trains, then saying "keep an eye on it". Keep an eye on what? You didn't change anything it's just gonna back up again when the deleted trains re-spawn LOL ;)
bifffa, putting that metro throughthe middle with no stops doesn't really make sense. if you're just going from one stopto the other, you could go way more direct along the lakeshore, remove the noise pollution from the area with zonin, and save more room for buildings.
I played cities skylines about 12 h before watching your videos in 2 years. it has been 2 months since I discover you and now i got 130 h yet I havent got bored. waiting for sale to buy dlcs and I wonder when my curiosity will end after buying them. Thanks to your line mathematics, population is 100k and traffic flow is about 80's. It's all good
The place between your oil industries and entertainment area seems like a large nice place to put a University campus, it's also close to the huge railway station. Also I don't get why you want that metro above ground and going through your residential area when it doesn't even have stops there. Furthermore I guess that you got...hmmm...a population increase of something like...10k
I think the residential district should be called “Darjeeling” just because of its connections to tea and railways and the fact I’ve never had a suggestion used before. Keep it up. Really enjoying this series, and the biffism bingo.
I'd've used metro overhaul or the pillar changer mod and had the elevated metro straddle either the road or the footpath so it's not wasting valuable zoneable space. I think you need to have a guided busway too. There's a dedicated guided busway on the workshop or you could just use a road and ban everything other than buses.
it's already been said but it would make sense for the metro line to have a few extra stops in the middle of the new neighbourhood. Also that shot of the city at night looks so cool! I really like the futuristic high density look of this neighbourhood
Just found this channel, and this game through it. As an old-school original Sim City player I am in jaw-dropping awe. Currently binge-watching your videos to catch up, and prepare for my own cities to come. Thank you for this great resource and content! You are a gentleman and a scholar, and your name will be written in the dispatches. o7
Ugh It's so annoying your cities turn out so pretty with seemingly no effort haha No matter what I do or if I plan or not (I usually don't), I end up giving up at around 30k~40k people because I can't stand how my city looks lol The new area looks amazing! It even made me want to finally use monorails... (I never do for some reason) The people living by the main avenues might complain about noise, though =p
I think Teaport's public transportation could do with a review. It seems increasingly fragmented, with isolated spurs in some areas and missed connection opportunities. I reckon there's loads of opportunities to tweak things and just make it all a bit more useful for the cims.
Nice one biffa, I disagree with most comments about metro being over ground. Its a good idea and clearly itl expand from there. You need to sort monrail and make it more circular but liking look of the new area
Liking it so far ! 18:40 @Biffa It's also that every monorail has to go into 1 side (one way track) so they have to cross over on the left side to go out again. Could reroute that to go straight on and not go left (down).
Whenever i make new area in the city, it looks messy all the time and I don't have power of imagination like you, your videos are satisfying Biffa! And Biffism is affecting my accent 😂
Hello Biffa ! I live in center of a big city in France, parking is often a nightmare... Could you please tackle the question in a Teaport episode with more parkings spaces ? Especially near big buildings and businesses. Underground and overground ? Something appropriate for residential areas too. What is the whole parking palette like in City Skyline ? Really like watching both your fixing and building episodes ! Thanks for the enjoyment, ^^.
The monorail was waiting for itself to get to the same platform. You could reset the route, since you made it a loop earlier. Looking good again B. The raised metro is cool for sure ! Have a good one !
Hi Biffa, the left turn is struggle also in real life planning. You can make it as "U turn on next", you can see a lot of example in USA. Driver coudn't do left turn and go forward, but on another crossing can make a U turn. I am not sure, if you can make it also in Cities Skylines, but that is one option. Also, next crossing could be roundabout and than there would be no problem with U turn...
Oh! With a metro station in the neighborhood and the monorail station solved this place will be a huge success. Everyone will come here shopping & living! And visiting the central park!
Great episode! just two thoughts here: The schools are all serviced by a bus route that runs parallel to the route of the metro track. I know metro stations take up more space, but wouldn't it make more sense to have the metro stop in these places? And it would be cool to hook up the metro with the multiplatform end station for even more network integration. Also, there seem to be 2 monorail lines going through the same platform. You might want to re-route the lines and use both platforms so they don't cross each other. Looking forward to the next episode. :)
It looks like you got traffic at that smaller T-junction because it's the only way out of that neighborhood. Also, you should definitely add at least one stop on that metro line - maybe halfway through that area so it's a quick walk to the university and right across from that industry/special factory area.
I have learnt a lot from all of your videos. My city still looks rubbish, but it is at least functional now. Next, I plan on working on how to do better detailing and being more creative with the design.
10:12 - I can only imagine it’s something like this to live there- Me: Nice to meet you, Hugo. Where do you live? Hugo: Downtown TeaTown Me: Oh that’s nice Hugo: Well it used to be. I live at the back end, along the forest across from the lake. At first it was nice and peaceful, nothing but birds and wildlife. Then they put in that damn loud Festeaval concert area, I hate Nestor. Then they put in the trams with the turnaround right across the street from my house. Then that big elevated monorail station by the concerts. Now they ripped out a bunch of trees and I have a big above ground metro station in my back yard. I’m in one of those two houses between the tram tracks and the street to the metro. And they wonder why I’m always telling people where to go....because there is not here
I live in a city where they put LRT (basically Metro) straight through the middle of a couple of neighborhoods without adding a stop. The residents were not happy.
waaauw biffa, that shot @12:46-50, i love the layout and the thougts about that..... If i was a virtual primier of a country( started fresh) u would be my master of all constructions and lay out
You didn't seem to notice, but where you put in the asymmetrical road and the timed traffic light where the traffic was starting to build up, the left hand turn lane had both left hand turn AND straight ahead arrows.
Forget the people saying you should move the metro underground or next to the lake - it looks cool elevating through the city! BUT...if you shift it over to the middle between your roads instead of next to one, you could have high density towers along the roads, and the metro along their back side, and the pedestrian path UNDERNEATH the elevated metro line, which would look very cool and futuristic. Just a thought!
ooh my lord biffa! you did an amazing job on this district of Teaport! I love the road layout!! definetly going to copy this one. much love. thanks for your content
24:50 the left lane was set as left & straight on before you added the timed traffic lights, as soon as you put the timed traffic lights it changed to just left turn, you can notice the arrow change between the 1st & 2nd vehicle
Hey Biffa mate, I just wanted to say, I don't know if this is because I'm deaf in one ear so I can only hear you through one speaker, but the last few videos for you I've had real difficulty hearing you, I think you might want to raise the volume of your voice, (it's not a music problem, because I can hear you clearly over the music when I turn up the volume, so the balance between the music and voice track are fine, but compared to other videos on youtube, I am finding that your whole audio is really quiet). It may be that because I'm only hearing you through one speaker, you have the balance for your voice track leaning towards the other speaker, instead of centred in the middle, so that might fix it. Hope you don't mind the complaint, I just love your videos and want to be able to enjoy them more easily. :)
Sorry you're having trouble. My voice track is balanced and I have my audio (voice and final master) set as high as I can do without constant clipping 🤔
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines Thanks for responding. Don't worry about it it's not a big deal, I can always just increase the volume on my own device. I was just mentioning it in case there was something you could do your end. I just have to remember to reduce the volume again before I click on a different person's videos afterwards so I don't get blasted, haha!
18:57 I'm always seeing you do this, but there's a much easier way. I suggest you use the AutoLineColor Redux (forget who it's by) but it will automatically set the color to something other than default (configurable) and rename it based on district (also configurable).
Biffa, the problem is your monorail-about. You should make the circle of the monorail-about two-ways, so the trains can leave either way out of the station. It looked like one train wanted to turn left out of the station, but there was another train waiting to come into the station blocking his path. Therefore, they sat stuck like that forever. I think if you just make the rails two-way, the trains will figure themselves out?
You have made a Roundabout from Hell for your monorail. You’re only using the one side of the station, and some incoming trains have to cross over the outgoing trains and vice versa. You’re a Big roundabout fan, but I have heard about a Shoppingcenter, where they screwed up the trafficflow in the parkinglot. It resulted in, that the incoming cars blocked the outgoing traffic. Redo the trafficflow. Sit Down and watch the outtro of your previous video and analyze the trafficflow.
That above ground Metro absolutly reminds me of the city Hamburg. There the Metro (U-Bahn) is more above ground than the normal above ground trains (S-Bahn), which are most time underground...

Looks good, but what I'm wondering is how well-spread the EMS'ses are. Because it's good to have them a bit more frequent in high-density areas, since crime rate can be bigger that way. Also, for that mega fire, next to the 'CHOPPAH (sorry), more FDs within the area. (It's only advise, though. I'm just enjoying the series as whole and thought I'd point that out.)
I absolutely love this new area!!! The night time view is really giving me some Shanghai vibes. Also I am wondering, where do you get the international style housing? Or any other style of housing for that matter. I also see you use some trees and bushes that don't come with the vanilla game, is there a mod for more trees?? Ever since watching your videos I LOVE detailing my city!!
Don’t underestimate biking, I just built a test city 100k pop, no real transit and few bike/walking paths...switched everything to bike roads and bike paths everywhere and went from low 40s to 80+% traffic easy peasy. The monorailabout is very “horks borks” not enough room to turn.

Dedicated turning lane: 3:29, 3:35, 5:09, 5:52
Give Way 3:32, 3:40, 5:11, 5:35, 10:18, 18:32
Ctrl Left Click: 5:08, 5:27, 5:53, 23:52, 24:53
Asymetrical Road: 10:12
Roundabout: 10:12
Horky Borky: 21:19
Fantastic: 22:24, 22:39
Autosave, quick sip of tea: 25:42
Hugo There: 26:01, 26:05
This is all I found. I probably missed loads of them but it was fun to try🙃.
P.S: Great area expansion
You have been watching too much Biffa when:
You are watching the Bourne series, and the best scene is when you see an asymmetric road during a car chase!
Biffa I think you need to add "[insert %] traffic flow" to the bingo list! You don't seem to say it as often now, so maybe it could be a higher scoring phrase?
All high density. Properly fit 5 to 6 thousand in there. Depending on the layout.
So who else was screaming at the mono-rail issue saying "YOUR JUNCTIONS ARE TOO CLOSE THERE IS NO SPACE!!" LOL
I also liked the doing nothing with the monorail, other than deleting a couple of trains, then saying "keep an eye on it". Keep an eye on what? You didn't change anything it's just gonna back up again when the deleted trains re-spawn LOL ;)
18:00 He did change something, he reduced the number of monorail trains from eight to four.
@@teekayfourtwoone4686 fair point, although did have one stop with like 4-500 people waiting though lol
Biffa why did you put a massive metro line through the middle of a city without putting any stops in😂
Right. Not even a stop in the middle by the school...
I really like how the new area looks like in the night. So pretty lights!
bifffa, putting that metro throughthe middle with no stops doesn't really make sense. if you're just going from one stopto the other, you could go way more direct along the lakeshore, remove the noise pollution from the area with zonin, and save more room for buildings.
It's all good
You're welcome :-)
The place between your oil industries and entertainment area seems like a large nice place to put a University campus, it's also close to the huge railway station.
Also I don't get why you want that metro above ground and going through your residential area when it doesn't even have stops there.
Furthermore I guess that you got...hmmm...a population increase of something like...10k
Definitely think a couple of stops are needed inner city for the over ground metro, they are elite inner city travel methods for a reason!
15:28 "I love that nighttime shot!" Me too, Biffa, me too.
I'm glad you forgot the metro and did it after you finished the road layout. It looks great this way ☺️
Just found this channel, and this game through it. As an old-school original Sim City player I am in jaw-dropping awe. Currently binge-watching your videos to catch up, and prepare for my own cities to come. Thank you for this great resource and content! You are a gentleman and a scholar, and your name will be written in the dispatches. o7
Thankyou 😁👍
Yay! The bicycle paths and roads have returned. And I love the night view!
The area around the lake should be your university, lovely area to learn!
Nice suggestion :-)
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines how about the name: The Smartea Universitea hehe
Love the new area but think a metro stop or two in the middle would be good, although easier said than done to squeeze that in!
I missed your Covid19 and obsession with roundabout days! I’m a sad geek.
Ugh
It's so annoying your cities turn out so pretty with seemingly no effort haha
No matter what I do or if I plan or not (I usually don't), I end up giving up at around 30k~40k people because I can't stand how my city looks lol
The new area looks amazing! It even made me want to finally use monorails... (I never do for some reason)
The people living by the main avenues might complain about noise, though =p
Thank you Joolius :-)
"No matter what I do or if I plan or not (I usually don't)" that is your issue there.
Biffa always plans.
This city looks amazing. Love to watch you building it and see it growing and growing
Luckily this video is up 1 hr prior to my online class😅. Thanks a lot biffa❤️
My pleasure 😊
You should build some emergency shelters when your city flood!!!!! Please x
The Teaple love a timed traffic light (invented in Cleveland, OH of all places).
Thank you HarshCodes :-)
I think that it may be a good idea to add a metro station in the middle of that line just to provide easy access for all of those people.
Oh! With a metro station in the neighborhood and the monorail station solved this place will be a huge success. Everyone will come here shopping & living! And visiting the central park!
Densitea District
You have to call the new area InTeaNational Heights.
scored a 35 in biffism bingo. new area is beautiful, love the nighttime shots
Me: Guessing like 50.000 people could fit in that area.
Me after Biffa is done with infrastructure: Yeah, more like 5.000
10:12 - I can only imagine it’s something like this to live there-
Me: Nice to meet you, Hugo. Where do you live?
Hugo: Downtown TeaTown
Me: Oh that’s nice
Hugo: Well it used to be. And they wonder why I’m always telling people where to go....because there is not here
😂
I live in a city where they put LRT (basically Metro) straight through the middle of a couple of neighborhoods without adding a stop. The residents were not happy.
waaauw biffa, that shot @12:46-50, i love the layout and the thougts about that..... If i was a virtual primier of a country( started fresh) u would be my master of all constructions and lay out
You didn't seem to notice, but where you put in the asymmetrical road and the timed traffic light where the traffic was starting to build up, the left hand turn lane had both left hand turn AND straight ahead arrows.
0:10
Hmmmmm this is a hard one but I think it'll be 10k.
Just a random guess
Forget the people saying you should move the metro underground or next to the lake - it looks cool elevating through the city!
BUT...if you shift it over to the middle between your roads instead of next to one, you could have high density towers along the roads, and the metro along their back side, and the pedestrian path UNDERNEATH the elevated metro line, which would look very cool and futuristic. Just a thought!
ooh my lord biffa! you did an amazing job on this district of Teaport! I love the road layout!! definetly going to copy this one.
much love. thanks for your content
You could really do with another couple of metro stations in that new area, some of your residents and businesses are a _long_ way from the station.
Super-speed chipmunk biffa is flipping hilarious!
Garden Tea Heights probably would be a good name for that new district.
Could you hook the new residential area up to the large train hub? Would allow people to move to the other side of the city.

I got you in the hidden point: catched you drinking tea!!! Do I receive a tea bag? A real British one? In Madrid is hard to find the good ones...
Great Video! such a great way to boost the city population, and looks fantastic!!!
I think that there needs to be a bus from the monorail hub to the intercity bus station
Don’t underestimate biking, I just built a test city 100k pop, no real transit and few bike/walking paths...switched everything to bike roads and bike paths everywhere and went from low 40s to 80+% traffic easy peasy. The monorailabout is very “horks borks” not enough room to turn.
