you should try Liquimoly 5w -40 molygen, my engine runs super smooth. i accidentally stripped my drain plug, holy crap what a pain that was. i bought the L&N steel magnetic drain plug, i just change out the washer and i'm good. i'll be changing my oil labor day weekend along with new brake pads and rotors. great video!

I do annual, but I drive the Cayman barely 2k miles a year. How much gasoline I smell in the depleted oil tells me a lot about my own habits and I would consider a 6 month if it was really strong. At the end of the day, oil is cheaper than a new engine

How are you smelling the oil before hand or do you mean when you’re doing the change for next time? I normally do 2 a year or every 5,000 miles. This was my first time doing 1 year service out of curiosity and it looked great. I drive it maybe 4,000 miles a year though so I’m sure that is a consideration as well.

Smell the drained oil for gas and can definitely tell which car has been contaminated (hybrids get it quickly). Yes for next time. I'm generally really good about not doing short trips and fast warm up. I have a vortex drain valve so I could drain an analysis sample easily. I use amsoil signature 0-40w in moderate/hot climate since I have enough cars I can group buy for myself once a year.

I have a 2008 987.1 Caiman and drive it about 1k per year. So far I've just been doing the annual oil changes, but I've been wondering if I should step it up to twice a year. Also, quick jacks are expensive, but very convenient..

I use to do mine twice a year but sticking with annual for now. I drive under 2K a year and feel it will be fine. What oil you using?

1 year with no oil change with how many miles?
Or did i hear 5000 miles in 1 year?

All my cars I do 5,000 miles or twice a year, whichever comes first. This was my first time doing annual out of curiosity because I felt I was doing the oil changes way before it was even due and seemed wasteful. What do you think?
