    Never forget the #1 Reason: Stability
    Ableton 11 in one of its later iterations was an absolute abomination of crashes and lags, which ultimately led me to switch to Bitwig.
    Bitwig on the other hand is basically the software equivalent of "Built like a tank".
    One of your vst's crashes? No Problemo, just remove it or try reloading it, the Daw is chillin.
    Wanna open multiple projects at once? And then maybe copy audio clips or devices from one to another? Well there you go sir, of course you can do that!
    Besides that, the overall Performance of Bitwig is just objectively better than Ableton.
    By that I mean the loading time of projects and devices, as well as the overall Dsp "headroom" (You can load more stuff).
    Plus:
    Did you know you can open Ableton Projects in Bitwig?
    I had an Ableton Project that was so corrupted I couldn't open it anymore, so when I got Bitwig I just tried opening it there.
    Suffice to say it worked.
    This Daw would survive World War 3, and in case of a nuclear strike, my advice is to boot up Bitwig and take shelter behind you Pc.

      Haha yeah its a big plus, true. When i was switching to bitwig i used it to finish an album i had started writing in ableton, importing ableton projects made the transition much easier

      How’s the workflow feel? To me bitwig looks kinda bloated which scares me. I hate looking at a super small timeline where you need to scroll a ton. I like the wide simple layout if ableton

    • @TildeSounds
      @TildeSounds  Месяц назад

      @@Submersed24 honestly bitwig feels a lot more to the point and easier to use than ableton. Especially the synth uis are far more simple and elegant. Ableton feels a lot more janky and bloated to me, especially once m4l gets involved. But is recommend just demoing it and seeing for yourself, its all just down to personal taste, other people wont be able to tell you whats better for you. I did not want to return to ableton after trying bitwig ever again, but i know others that feel differently.

    • @Submersed24
      @Submersed24 Месяц назад

      @@TildeSounds it’s suprising how few big producers use it and stick with ableton currently. I was waiting until the big names start coming because that would probably mean it has caught up to the other daws/surpassed it. But yeah I suppose I should just use it and try. Ableton actually looks simpler to me tbh. Bitwig seems cluttered with the timeline being so small. I love how you can cycle through sounds quick in ableton

    • @TildeSounds
      @TildeSounds  Месяц назад

      @@Submersed24 Nik roos of noisia/sleepnet uses it, if that means anything to you. Given how deep his technical skill is thats all the confirmation i need. Skope uses it for sound design.
      I think its just a matter of bitwig being quite new, like 10 years younger than ableton. Big producers have generally been producing for very long already. But yeah i also feel bitwig is still a bit lacking in educational content on yourube.
      Dont know what you mean by small timeline tbh, you can make it as big as you like

    I agree. Bitwig has even a.better Ableton Link and a slight tighter MIDI timing which is noticeable on drum machines. And to mention the browser. Ableton 12 has gotten a bit better, but Bitwigs browser is a lot cleaner and faster.

      @@TildeSounds Don't get me wrong, I'm a Bitwig user, haha. I made this analogy with the best of intentions. Sternenherz addressed some of what I consider to be the issues in his "5 Reasons why I would love to switch to Bitwig 5, but CAN’T" video. One thing that isn't in the video but REALLY bugs me out is plugin scanning. Bitwig takes a lot of time to scan and index plugins, and you simply can't manually rescan plugins. It's a recurring issue among people with a lot of plugins, and unfortunately, I'm one of them.

    Interesting thoughts. In re glue: I like Analog Obsession COMPER. It's got everything you need (except gain matching) and more, but the interface is clean enough that you can work very quickly with it. I use it on almost every track as a bus compressor to add glue and sidechain against the kick. (I group all channels except kick, and comper is on the group track.)

      great content, new subscriber, unsolicited advice: try to reach higher and lower pitches with your speaking voice. It would help create more of a sense of excitement. It might feel unnatural at first, but your video format relies heavily on voice, and I think you might work on the "sound design" of it. IDK, maybe try applying OTT and maybe that will help? 😅

      @@potsandjacks i probably didnt explain this very well in the video since youre not the only one confused about what i mean.
      Compare how in abletons repitch mode you can still adjust the semitone knob, while in bitwig the analogous control is greyed out in repitch mode. Thats what im talking about. Tuning your samples that way is the cleanest way to do it and bitwig doesnt really let you do this as easily. Yes, there are workarounds, but theyre all quite annoying.
