The doctor gave Dimash 5 injections in his throat and a competitor gave him 'traditional medicine'. All competitors kept their fingers crossed for him and cheered him on. But, if you don't know, you will hear Dimash's voice as powerful and passionate as ever. After this performance, he was asked how his throat felt and he said it felt like broken glass in it. Shortly after he sang, he lost his voice again.

You have no idea how grateful I am that you reacted to the backstory. Usually, many people recommend Daybreak from his Bastau concert without any context. As someone once mentioned in a comment, I totally agree that it's always very frustrating when reactors only respond to the Bastau version but don't know the sad story of this song and don't even try to turn on the subtitles. I can understand that many of the dears would rather respond to this version simply because it is incredibly powerful. However, in my opinion (and you have confirmed it) it loses a lot of impact if you don't know why he sings the way he sings. As powerful as this performance is, I get nauseous when the reactants jump in the seat and yell "Beautiful! Yeah! Good! Great! Perfect! Cool!" without knowing what they are actually reacting to. So thank you so much for that. You can really hear that he must have been in a lot of pain. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. Although he did do some high notes, he missed out an important run which you will hear in the Bastau performance. I think he just wanted to sing this song perfectly at least once. Apart from the Bastau concert, I’ve never seen another performance of it from Dimash. P,s. I think the doctor told him off afterwards and said he had told him not to sing high notes and Dimash said they weren’t his high notes lol.
Bastau's version i feel is what Singer could have sounded like, if he wasn't so sick. I heard he did push himself and his throat was on fire for a few days afterward. Han Hong is a lovely lady and Dimash gets to meet her on Episode 14 of that year's Singer show. Episode 14 is a bonus episode for charity.

All I could think of, while I was listening was that, for all of the problems technology has brought us, it has also brought us the ability to listen to so much beautiful music, and so many talented singers, from all over the world. If you ever get a bit of spare time you should check out some of the other contestants in Singer 2017, they were all top draw. There was a great comradeship between them, and I believe friendship still exists especially Dimash and Terry Linn. The band that had just gone before Dimash here was Lion Band who did a fantastic cover of Its My Life by Duran Duran.
