the Off-topic general community back in like 2006-2009 was legit great on the forums, was so much fun back then, then they absolutely ruined it with redoing the forums and the mods who would let us get away with conversations that would otherwise gotten deleted/banned, got replaced and we all moved to our own forums, leaving it a wasteland
Holy hell this brought me back. I remember our clan chat was permanently aflame with theories and testing and wondering and more pondering for MONTHS. 10/10
I remember trying to figure this out but once I tried all the ideas I had I gave up. I figured you needed the ring of visibility but I thought you also needed the tokul ring not the ring of stone and I would have never figured out the obsidian shards.
Can we just talk about how difficult it can be on mobile to get the probably 800+ Obsidian shards required to finish this mini quest or the fact that that amount of combat alone constitutes a master nearly grandmaster quest in its own right. Damn shifting goalpost
I have a confession to make. I have been binge-watching your videos... for a full week. I don't know how to feel about that fact. Specifically, the documentaries about a game that I have not touched for years. Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe it's pure curiosity, but whichever it was, it would not have been well fulfilled if the documentary was bland, or poorly weaved. These videos, all of them (yeah, binged all of the documentary ones), were anything but those; they were so good imo, that I even watched them again, and again. I'm either mad, or that I really love the way you spoke and sorted the narrative. And the self-made clips (which I'm pretty sure involved some dope volunteers) were honestly fun to watch.
Thank you so much! It really makes me happy to hear you have that experience with the videos. When I started making them, I aimed to recreate the similar feeling I get from well made real life documentaries, but with a sense of comedy, for the game I love. Unfortunately, having seen all these videos a hundred times over in the editing room, they always feel a bit bland when uploading them. Luckily I have a great set of creative friends who guide the videos with me to ensure they're as good as can be. Your experience of the videos means we've done it right, and that brings me tremendous joy. :-) Happy holidays!
I remember this back in the day. I was really into the lore forums and was following this closely. Although I hadn’t done the quest, I definitely contributed ideas to the search. I didn’t realize this whole thing started as an accident
I remember when they did soem type of scavenging hunt one year where it took months for players to figure it out. I gave it maybe 20 minutes of my time but then I moved on with my life lol. Its like trying to do a quest day one. Ive only done that a handful of times and cant be rage inducing.
@@redere4777 That's where your wrong it was not a hard time gate per say as in you could not get it before then. But a soft time gate as in the creator would not give any more clues until a year had past. I.E you were never gonna get the item clue until after a year. But it does bring up the question had anyone tried to dig in that spot with the items before that date. We'll probably never know but it was a soft time gate of one year.
You should do a video on the search for that purple helmet that took forever to find. I forgot what it is called.. But its apart of a full set of purple looking armor, but the helm took the community ages to find it.
Fun fact. Tibia still has got a quest like this going. But it's unsolved. I present to you: The Serpent Tower Good luck solving it. The only guy who did it won't tell anybody how.
Why are you showing clips of the fight kiln, unlocked by the elder kiln quest instead of the fight cauldron, when talking about the brink of extinction?
Haven't ever played this game, probably never will. That aside, I enjoy watching these 'history of Jagex/Runescape' vidz more than I should. Hat's of to you and FitMc for introducing me to some amazing Lore into some games I would never play. 10/10
Just so much to figure out. More than just the rings and the shards. Then of course it was finding it after making it visible. I hope the wiki wrong cause it has so much more requirements.
I was sooo involved with this at the start of the hunt but then I stopped playing for a while. I remember when I first heard about it again from some people that were doing it last year, and I found out there was no hunt at first, I was so angry lol. Wasted so much time. Make a video on the strange glowing orb next :), heavily involved with that too and it's similar except the easter egg ACTUALLY EXISTED
Runescape's vast history, huh... Showing Elemental Workshop... Is this next video about the questline that'll likely veer way off track from its original purpose since it's been over 10 years since its last quest installment halfway through the series? Hmmmm....
How is no one talking about the god tier “subscribe to will miss it” clip he added in with ZMI. Keep up the great content!
Super weird the Ga'al hunters had subbing to me as a possible step towards the solution!
cause its gay
I agree it was a masterpiece
Irl gp!!! Wish i had digests
This internet historian format is fantastic
Just needs a sponsor segment, and a barely readable Patrons list
@Hey I definitely found it reminiscent of Internet Historian as well with the editing
Ok loser
So that's why the editing feels nostalgic and familliar for some reason lmao
bruh, the level of production here is next level. i play osrs, but loooove how you present rs3

Being loving your videos, subscribed the other night, a great rabbit hole account.
Welcome to the club!
I bet Will flashes his level 2 prayer to all of his Rune Harmony dates.
How did you know??
@@rswillmissit Bc he's one of them!
You put quite a bit of work into that. You made a great thing.
He blew the 27mil on edaters on w3 Lumbridge, then caught keylogger virus from them and now is terminally poor on gp support.
This is a great format, please keep using it, it's a compliment to say it's similar to internet historian :)
Loving the new format, not to mention the really interesting topics. Keep up the great work! :)
The editing on this vid is just hilarious, and dang this is rs history I hadn't any idea about. Awesome vid as always!
Thank you so much!
I’m kinda surprised from the ending. I was excepting a total train wreck by the end lol.
you've taken your videos to the next level this past year or so. love the content will
Love the history videos, definitely draws me in. Great content, awesome editing too

These have been my favorite videos that I look forward to weekly ♥️ keep it up! 😁
I remember that random NPC who became a part of a future story/quest.
Would love to see you do a video over the crack the clue from osrs
I will! Coming in april :D
Really kept me intrigued the entire time. Great content!
Can’t get enough of your videos. Keep them coming !
The World of Tanks chair @ 2:35 has me dead.
My man is learning how to clickbait CORRECTLY
If only people used the term "clickbait" correctly
Clickbait is always sad. And it was only solved after it was created.
Once again, killer video. Loving the content lately, keep it up!
Just as epic as every episode so far! Thanks a lot for this great entertainment + education! :)
Thanks a lot for the support! :D
What an amazingly put together video. Keep it up my man
Woohooo the old intro is back, i feel so fulfilled. Good video as usual!
It wasn't in the script originally, but I think somebody (you, maybe?) said they missed it, so I added it in, lol

You talking about teh final step of Crack the Clue? for osrs? That took like a year and a half I think xD

Oh my god I forgot to replace it. :( I even had a recording of the Fight Cauldron. Oh well, you get the idea though, right?

the real question is what is the lore behind that mod fella sitting in a world of tanks chair?
Sir, do you know how many pictures there are on Google of an angled back of a gaming chair?
