Just when you thought they couldn't write a scene sadder than losing Marian... they hit us with this. The backstories of the Goddess squad are so tragic.

It more tragic when you consider Over Zone is the end of the Goddess struggle, there still the story of how Lilith died, Snow White eventual Mind Switch, Red Hood MIA, and their Commander just vanish from the surface of the earth and never heard again before the event even started
This hit me hard, not gonna lie. Also got hit hard again after reaching the event of handing Marian over to the Pilgrims. So that’s twice in one night.

Seeing someone smoke Alteisen with just the mass-produced NIKKEs with Pinne’s type front and center really warmed my heart.
You know a game has a good story when gameplay of someone doing a challenge could be turned into a heart-wrenching cutscene
The "Have you seen my bullet" scene hits so hard. I can't imagine the horror of seeing someone being transformed into something completely different.
And even worse, I think that deep down, Dorothy knows that there is no one waiting for them in the Ark with flowers and ovation. That's probably the worst out of it all.
After coming back from Story II, I feel bad that I was correct

It's really depressing that Dorothy's first action after killing Pinne was to unalive herself. It's a hard thing that you would feel after taking someone you cared for then doing the same to yourself after. They are not humans but they do show aspects on what it means to be human
I can't also imagine the void after she had to kill Pinne, and before she turned her gun against herself.
And "best" thing is it makes total sense. Pinne was her safety blanket, the anchor that kept her from losing it. And she only gets "better" once she starts hallucinating Pinne by her side.

My friend managed to convince me to play Nikke and all i knew was that it was a game of guns, boobs and ass. Later I found that it has great music. When i played this event... i found despair

Having listened to this in both Japanese and in English, I have to say both are so damn heart breaking. I feel like the Japanese version got it better when she was breaking down but the english version got down the part where she was broken, constantly trying to trigger the gun.
This is why Dorothy hate humanity in the ARK, she just like Eren Yeager, when people live peacefully in Ark, she must fight Raptures at the surface. So people in Ark doesn't care about her. Goddess Squad just a tool. 😊

Man...why are these nikke stories so sad? I had to deal with the loss of Marian and now this. The Ark is so evil and yet we are working for the ark making Dorothy our enemy.

6 months later, yeah I do agree that Ark is evil, they kinda "hide" something from humanity but we still don't know what that is. Even Oswald that we though the evil ones, now we have hunch that maybe he is not evil, maybe behind the scene he can't do nothing for Goddess squad OR he trying to saving Goddess squad from Ark itself but it's still umconfirmed.

My theory is pretty simple - they did not intended to make any welcome parade for them, and didn't expect them to make it back. In one cutscene, one of the girls mentioned they are "prototypes" besides the Pinne - and prototypes are not meant to last long
The Ark most likely wont open the door, the Ark just sealed themselves with no way out and no way in. Still the Ark were jerks who didnt told the Goddess squad their last stand is a suicide mission
The commander is like a Godsend in this world
hell he could just go all bloodborne on them and give them his blood and he can save the world that way

What is the cause of Nikke corruption, getting hacked by raptures or mind switch?
-Mind Switch
Mind Switch refers to a phenomenon where a Nikke's brain suffers permanent damage or alteration, often resulting in a psychotic break and going on a rampage. The most common cause of Mind Switch is anything that reminds Nikkes that they are fundamentally not human, but can also occur if Nikkes (particularly Pilgrims) suffer a memory overload in their NIMPH. Nikkes that suffer a Mind Switch are referred to as "Irregulars", and while reformatting their memory can stop the psychotic break, oftentimes the permanent brain damage means it's more merciful to put them down.
-Corruption
While not often occurring (or something anyone wants to think about), Raptures can corrupt Nikkes with code that makes them into mindless puppets, often distinguished by a reddish-pink coloration of the eyes and sometimes repeating certain phrases with increasing vocal distortion.

Not edited, i just played the part too.
Early ones its pink haired dorothy in full display, almost look like Bocchi.
But after day 3, its grayscaled like this, might be to cover the truly obvious suicide attempt. In south korea lots of suicide cases, so thats also likely the reason they grayscale it.

From past Event (Half Year Anniversary). The Event Title is "Overzone". If you miss this Event, now you still can follow the story, since Overzone is already been a part of Archive now.
For me, this Event is still the best Event in NIKKE, with Red Ash & New Year New Sword come close in the 2nd & 3rd place.
