I just want you to know that if you have turned away from the Lord, turn back to him. Don't let the devil in your body win. If you believe you will never be forgiven because you have committed many sins, you are mistaken. God is good and willing to forgive us as long as we confess all of our sins.
I have backslided deeply you can't even tell if I have changed, living in sin a little but am I still saved.

But he's glad to watch the worst sinner "seriously" running back to him as a prodigal Son in full surrender, he gladly welcomes (Luke 15:11-32) 🙏🏼

He's happy to hear the voice of his sheep stuck somewhere calling to be saved, he'll come and save you and make whole (Luke 15:3-7) 🙏🏼 (Just call out to him/pray, believe and just wait)
Well-articulated and I think it helps me understand my own personal experience as a 'back-slidden' Christian. Persons have told me that I was not truly saved in the first instance but I balk at this response because I had a sincere relationship with God (repentance and faith in Christ) and for anyone to question that made no sense to me. However, I left the Lord and committed sin in the worst ways for several years until it no longer brought me pleasure and I started to miss God. I began talking to Him again just out of sheer loneliness but wasn't willing to recommit. Well, God allowed me to taste the full brunt of my rebellion and man..that was pain beyond measure that I bolted back home like the Prodigal Son on steroids. Now its been ten years and I have always grappled with what if I had died in my wicked state...and what happens to people like me. I am not 100% convinced that I would have gone to heaven but conversely, I cannot say I wasn't saved in the first instance. Nevertheless...this video does help and I will continue to review Scripture and ask the Holy Spirit for clarity.

I dont understand. I believe in Jesus still, I've just been living in disobedience yes but I certainly do believe! I just dont understand right now. What is it that is happening, my mom had been telling me to repent and so have others but it's been 2 years since I started living in rebellion. Hoe can someone like me TRULY know if I was ever saved, because I do believe with my heart and confess that he is Lord!

You didnt lose the holy spirit brother you are sealed with the holy spirit! You must have habitual sin in your life that has desensitized you to the holy spirit where you cant feel or hear the holy spirit the sin has become a wedge in between you and the holy spirit. Pray to god and be persistent dont lose hope he is still in you i have been in this situation many times before even dealing with it now but i always end up get my connection back with him and working on keeping it that way this time

I believe you have grieved the Holy Spirit. That is the consequences of grieving Him, feeling you´ve lost Him. I´m in the same situation and has been for six years. I woke up in 2017 feeling like He had departed. Now i know thanks to Got Question and Tim Conways´ among others´ teaching on this subject. When you grieved Him you feel He isn´t there anymore, you can´t hear His voice, or feel His presence, you feel like you´re not saved anymore and you start seeking the pleasures of this world. If this is your experince, you might have grieved Him.

Who Doctrine is this Doctrine? Once a Sinner always a Sinner. Is it true you are who you follow.
If you are believing or teaching that a Christian can backslide, then you are probably under some form of law. The use of phrases like "demonstrated a commitment to Christ" or "maintained a standard of behavior" are clues to someone being under the law. It is a focus on a person's ability to manage their flesh. This means they are trying to live in response to laws or commands that they believe will manage their flesh. That is why they talk about backsliding. You are at one end of the scale when you think you are obedient to God. When you stop demonstrating those accepted behaviors then you have "backslidden" because of your disobedience. This is not how God wants us to live. We need to get off of this scale or slide altogether. We need to learn to live in a trusting and dependent relationship with our God as we rest from our works and allow Him to live His life in and through us. Backsliding is not mentioned in the New Covenant. All these scriptures they are using need to be taken individually and in light of the Gospel and the New Covenant. To say every instance of someone falling into sin is backsliding needs to be challenged. Test the Spirits, saints.
