Also based from what we've so far, Ashihara likes to emphasize that Border uses general purpose triggers vs the specialized triggers of the neighbors. Which they in itself are weak vs their neighbor trigger counterparts. What bridges that gap is the ability of Border to utilize synergy of their triggers to become greater than the sum of its parts. They incorporate the modern combine armed doctrine of the military today. So for border to adapt and introduce a new trigger to it's agents they have to be: 1.Easier on the trion consumption to be used in conjunction with other triggers. 2. Need to synergize with existing border triggers. 3. Not overly complex, and quite similar to earth aesthetic for easier familiarity. I think Kuga's black trigger chains would be a good addition to Border's triggers, locking down an opponent. To be separated with his group or be singled out for an attack is likely a cool utility trigger for borders doctrine. Could be used by either Osamu or chika too.
On the subject of new triggers, Kako mentioned when she was trying to recruit Kuga, that A rank agents get to work with engineers to design custom triggers. That's probably where the trapper triggers and Futaba's Skanda cone from.
Ashihara has already mentioned that he definitely wants to come back to some earlier triggers that didn't get their limelight, like the teleporter trigger used by arashiyama. It can be incredibly overpowered in you think about it, just wear glasses or goggles to block line of eyesight. Similarly this would be a great chance to bring up all the experimental triggers used by the A ranks we haven't really seen a lot of yet, kako squad triggers, trapper triggers, timer trigger, etc. So I agree with the timing and this is definitely the right time to introduce in the story. I had some new trigger ideas as well. Revolver: Handgun that requires active reloading with trion bullets. Has a low capacity of 6, although it can be improved to 8 with later versions. It has great power and accuracy on the level of Egret despite its small size and usability with one hand, but high recoil. Flail: One-handed flexible weapon with immense impact power and the ability to bend and sneak around a small shield. However, it is unsuitable for blocking. Jet Greaves: Basically jet-enhanced brass knuckles except for your legs. Provides some leg protection and can be used to move around as well. Can unleash devastating fast kicks, but immense skill is required to maintaining balance and a flow of unpredictable attacks. It’s difficult to guard when you’re using it to attack. Optional Triggers: Odachi: Optional trigger for Kogetsu that can also be used with whirlwind for even longer range. Extends the length of the kogetsu sword by around 50% and increases its power and durability. However, drains more trion and makes the sword heavier while active. Tourniquet: Greatly reduces trion bleeding from wounds and amputations to the trion body. But requires some concentration to keep it active. Mantis: Optional trigger for Scorpion that causes damage done by Scorpion to take a portion of the target’s trion and drain it to the Scorpion user. Also enhances the speed that Scorpion can transform.

Mantis has also been shown and used by Yuma once if I remember correctly. It was the time Tamakoma-2 got smoked in the Rank wars and Yuma tried to use Mantis to score a point against Captain Ninomiya, however he had ran our of trion. Rank Wars Round 4 Tamakoma-2 vs Ninomiya Squad vs Azuma Squad vs Kageura Squad. Captain Kageura is also a notable Mantis user, using it very frequently for mobility and sneak attacks.
Raygust: Solid mode >>basically a handheld mini-escudo; different way to counter lead bullets/hyrein's bullets Grasshopper: Rail setting (alternate name: Water Strider) >>combining Hyuse's fast transport method w/ Kuga's curved Boomerang Scorpion, grasshopper will direct any matter on it to a specific direction (only difference b/w this and grasshopper is that it can redirect a falling object/person's falling velocity to horizontal velocity) New Trigger: Limo (Portugese for slime) >>mutually exclusive w/ Chameleon, allows user to partially shapeshift using Trion to change the location of their vital parts alternatively, >>mimics Koskero's pink slime; object's surface becomes frictionless on contact, could be an optional trigger attached to meteor or asteroid just like lead bullet
Haven't read the manga ,so based on what I have seen in the anime , I think combining hound and spider triggers into a capture/ immobilization tool would be awesome, especially if you combine that with the trion stealing webbing and turning that into a bomb. You basically trap an enemy and destroy them with their own power. Or using the neighbor reflector tech and putting that over the physical barrier you can make extremely effective traps
I've always thought of new triggers that would be awesome to use or see in World Trigger. Mines- Very slow moving Meteor like bullets that are plenty in quantity and impedes the enemy from advancing. Scorpion V2- An energy blade that can change it size so you can have one big Buster Sword or have an extended long sword. Booster- This one might guzzle trion but its basically a scythe you can ride on the battle field like a board while making mid air battle more accesible Accel- Similar to Skanda but is a mobility trigger. It allows a user to create pre determined fast dashes but not neccesarily consecutively. It can be used up to 3 dashes at best and needs to recharge in between uses. Charge/Discharge- A new option provided to Kogetsu where a user can charge their blade and release the build up trion all at once depending on how much was charged creating explosive or stronger slashes. Can even power up and create a stronger whirlwind attack. Vorpal Blades- An optional trigger combining Viper and Scorpion allowing the user to create remote controlled blades. More Composite Bullets too there are still so many combinations to be done
As you mentioned throwing shield like Captain America. Ko has done that a few times already with the raygust and thruster. It would be interesting to see another type of shield but with the shield trigger, raygust (having a few forms and sizes) and escudo the only other type i could see would be a smaller shield, which might not be very effective in a fight. unless it was like a small shield use with a spear, but in that case the regular shield works.
I'd love to see some new triggers introduced. It would be interesting to see how different teams and individuals would approach a new style and combinations, and the counters they would need to come up with to face those new triggers. It would be very nice to see Osamu bring his mind to see the pros and cons of new triggers and how to implement them himself and with his team. I would like to see him get together with a few other agents that excel at learning new skills and tactics quickly, like Ko or Arafune, and testing the triggers in simulated fights and other conditions.
I'd really love to see someone turn the scorpion from sword into a sickle since the scorpion trigger can be reshaped by the amount of trion you put into it
what do you guys think about current manga arc? (spoiler) . . . . . the close environment exam have a lot of talking and very few action, but i don't hate it at all. and we better get world trigger game before anime season 4
I like it a lot. I think it shows how strong the backbone of the series is given how analytical and strategical the series is centered around. Cannot wait to review it :)
A World Trigger game would be awesome. I think it should be more of an FPS style compared to a lot of other anime games. With different load outs and what not.
Pretty sure there is already 2 WT games but strictly japanese as its not really good imo: One is, as you expected, shooter game but more focused on original story battles ie. Playing as Kuga in Afto War The other one is grid-based strategy game, sorta An actual multiplayer shooter game like Rainbow Six and CS would be the most ideal game. Customizable character (both trigger set and slightly stats), team rooms for rank battle, solo rooms for weapon ranking/progression and story/defense mode against trion monsters and/or bosses.

A trigger that I think should appear is the Chain Blade Trigger used by Yuma in flashbacks.
