@@grassandgears ....does it all on its own? All of a sudden I feel like a caveman. Then why doesn't the riding mower mow the lawn on its own? And the weed whacker and the edger?
@@JCAH1 yeah it has built in artificial intelligence that picks the best path to take. I actually think there are some mowers that use similar technology! Probably extremely expensive though!
I would say that the drone footage constantly moving back and forth doesn't do much for the video. I like the overall view from above but a steadier, more consistent view would be more enjoyable for me.
At first it didn't bother me but after the first time they weedeated I got really dizzy and nauseated. (I'm ill, so most people may not lol) but yeah it was too much for me. I prefer steady tripod. Still loved this though and here to support! I know this vid is older but I'm new here, so just getting caught up on vids! 😀😃
That place did need help, it had become way overgrown and for many, animals are not used to grow a feed supply and keep things under control. The unnerving part is how many obstacles could be in a high area, as I saw a metal post out where you were doing very tall grass. Helping others is vital. I appreciate your direction. Showing people they can get out of overwhelm is also very important. Questions might be, "What is step two for this person? Will they need another mowing until they can get on their feet? Do they need help getting a repair done, so they can manage more themselves?..." Your mower certainly did well going through tough stuff. Nice recovery of the use of the land.
It's amazing how much land was really there once it was mowed down, that's a really nice property once you see how big it is. Skydio should definitely sponsor you, their drone was made for this kind of following and all your video's demonstrate just how awesome their obstacle avoidance is. Another awesome property clean up in the books!
The tall grass in the fields took less than an hour on the TRX. The most time consuming part was all the brush cutter/line trimmer work. I was using the brush cutter at 6:45 because that was a mound of mulch under there with some big rocks mixed in.
Not sure where you are located but, glad I found your channel! Thank you for your videos and for all that you do! While I'm impressed with your mower, I'd be curious to see the comparison to a ventrac! (Given you are in North America ) Regardless, have a great one and consider me subscribed! :)
It is great you helping out like that but you could help yourself and the mower by getting some Kavli Beast blades. Don't get me wrong you did a good job it is just easier quicker and a better with those blades.
Agreed. I've across more wildlife mowing stuff like this than while walking through the woods trying to view wildlife. I actually have a property I maintain quarterly that I scared a young doe out of. She ran into the road(thankfully she ran to the two lane road on the North side of the property rather than the eight lane highway on the south side. Deer, rabbits, mice, armadillos, tortoise, etc ... I've come across a lot
@@kentsibille6850 when it comes to brush and weeds the Altoz with the brush cutting deck is hard to beat. Really no comparison there. It's weakness is on really nice manicured lawns, while the finish deck leaves a nice cut, the all-terrain tread on the tracks will definitely tear up the ground on tight turns. Even though it has 37hp, it feels a little underpowered in thick tall grass with the 66" finish deck.
Hey Raul. I only mow for free for people who can't afford an initial cleanup. I enjoy mowing and learning to edit videos, so I saw an opportunity to do both while also providing a free service for people. The people I mow for understand that it's not going to be a continued service. I have gone back and mowed again for a few people though.
@@grassandgears that’s cool Bo do a free one every now and then. But too risky. My contract says I’m not responsible for any damage to anything. Love the view the drone gave. Great job 👍
Thank you Jackie! The drone will be back in the near future 🙂
The sound track you chose is fabulous and goes most excellently with the footage. I give your video a 👍🏼

I don't pick the jobs, the jobs pick me! Lol 😆 thanks for the comment Jean. Have a great day!
Well talk about major grass cutting! You had u’re work cut out for you, but I gotta admit the job was done with perfection! 💯👍
With plants that tall, that job was bordering on archeology. The drone operator had some skills.
The drone (Skydio 2) does it all on its own. Pretty impressive most of the time! Thanks for the comment 👍

How long did it take to mow that tall grass? Why did you not use the TRX for that small hill you are using a trimmer for at 6:45 in the video.?

That TRX can move pretty quickly when you need it to. Nice.

@@grassandgears my pleasure
Loved the drone view! Otherwise couldn't view the large scope if the property .
Great video. That looks like some of the same stuff we mow, lol. Just subbed and I’m assuming your in Oklahoma. We’re in the Pryor area.
Thanks! Yep, I'm in the Muskogee area, so not far from you. Subbed to you as well 👍
What drone are you using
It's the Skydio 2.
Why do you turn 180 and mow back and forth? I just go around and around to ever smaller circles until I’m done. Much faster. Less wear and safer
I much prefer the finished look of back and forth. I also find it gives me a better chance of spotting debris in tall grass.
If you loot @ around 4.40s its seems to be pushing it down and not really cutting it
It is great you helping out like that but you could help yourself and the mower by getting some Kavli Beast blades. Don't get me wrong you did a good job it is just easier quicker and a better with those blades.
This is a brush cutting deck that has blades that swing like a brush hog. But I will definitely check those out! Thanks for the comment.
When grass is that tall, it is more grasslands for wildlife than a lawn.

@@grassandgears dang! Nowhere near our pocketbook. We are retired but we both love mowing the 3 acres we mow.
Why did you weed whip that slope? Aren’t the trx supposed to be good for that? That’s what I would do.
The slope was mulch that had been piled there and was still loose enough that the mower wanted to dig into it.
What’s the story on this one? Was it free? What happens next week if they can’t pay how long do you do this ?

Great work but you sure do know how to set someone’s OCD off lol jumping back and forth leaving spots undone lol
🤣 Sorry about that. Camera and drone batteries were dying quickly, so I was trying to at least get a little footage of a few different areas.
In some places hard to find grass for animals and some places grass is the problem. Strange.
Why not get a farmer to cut that for hay
