Love the fact that Tito made it to the Grand Finale! He had a great night. The Flying forearm was on fire
Arriba!
@@joescout 11qq1qq1q
I get a chuckle when I watch the Warlord walking down the aile looking like this huge monsterous badass to the Models theme music lol !!
I used to giggle when Big Boss Man would come out to Twin Towers theme.
It just didn't suit him ,lol
I just watched this PPV in honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving and was wondering why the Warlord never made it to WCW after WWF like The Barbarian did. He was huge, had a good look and a decent worker.
those moments of awkward silence are GOLDEN!!!!
13:45
thank you!
Papa bless 🙌
Doing the Lord's work
thunercattt thanks sweetheart
My favorite part of all of these is seeing Conrad get butthurt everytime he asks for numbers and Bruce doesn't give em up. LMAO.
You can tell these are the early days Conrad does not get mad as easily and is more cheerful LOL
Tito Santana should have won the survivor series. He was on fire 🔥 that night.
Buddy Rose used the Blow Away Diet gimmick in the 80's in the AWA for Verne. He used the gimmick around 85-86 before winning the AWA tag titles with "Pretty Boy" Doug Sommers and managed by Sherri Martel. After they won the titles, they feuded and eventually lost the tag belts to The Midnight Rockers, Marty Jannety and Shawn Michaels.

haha I'm with Conrad regarding my enjoyment of all things WWF during this Era.....I was 10 when this came out & I loved it. The Deadman's debut just made it even more awesome and not even the Gobbly Gooker could wreck this PPV
I was 14 when I watched this PPV and thought Taker looked really impoing and unbeatable, but the Gooker was a massive dissapoint and I hated the whole PPV.
According to BIll Eadie he had a near fatal allergic reaction to shellfish due to iodine build up in his system and he needed to slow down because he needed to heal and recover from it so crush was brought in to lighten his workload.
Prove it
I heard that as well
Aka GOUT
Warlord looks like Austin on 117 aggressive roid cycles.
Good call. I thought the same damn thing.
I'm dead
Hahaha that's classic! Warlord was yoked beyond yoked one of those guys who's so swole he needs help to wipe his own ass! 😂🤣
@@monsturokapone8458 rag on a stick lol
- The grand finale match of survival definitely should have stayed around. Sorry, Mr. Prichard. It's a great idea and it helped to make SS my favorite PPV. That said, you knew Tito was only there to give the heels someone to eliminate. I hated that. Always felt Tito deserved more of a push during this part of his career than he actually got.
- Hercules and Warlord were always underrated and underutilized, imo. I preferred Herc as a face, though. Just wish they'd have used him better.
- I don't get what's with Hogan's stories. Sometimes, I get the impression the dude is still trying to protect the business, but stories like this one don't fit into that narrative, however.
- That Dusty took the money and ran with the polka dots still kind of surprises me to this day. I mean, maybe Terry Taylor could've learned from it, but Dusty wasn't exactly protecting his gimmick, either.
- This event kind of pissed me off, as it was here that I learned that the Rockers were no longer the tag champs, which I'd read about in PWI. Yet, here were the Harts with the belts.
- The Gobbledy Gooker is one of those things that you wonder how in the _hell_ no one just looked Vince in the face and said "Dude. No." If I could've been an active wrestler with a company, just hearing about the plans a month in advance still would've gone over like your proverbial fart in church. That said, they should do it again. Just before it hatches, have a wrestler come down and plead "not again" only to have someone with a Sabu-type personality pop out like it was a damn toaster (put a damn trampoline under it) and land a flying DDT and just run to the back.
i loved how they did this survivor series wished it had continued after this
I enjoyed it too how the survivors all ended up in a final match
Barry Wyndham was listed on the VHS cover as the “Widow Maker”, but he didn’t appear in the event. Wish they would have touched on that.
They don’t mention it because you’re thinking of 1989.
@@stevepmg9202 I'd like to challenge that, sir
@@MarkoAnzio Challenge whatever you like. Windham worked the WWF between June and October 1989 and was back in the NWA by early 1990. The VHS of the 1989/Third Annual Survivor Series was the first I ever bought and Widowmaker is on the box but replaced by Earthquake on the show. Google is your friend if you don't believe me.
I loved the sole survivor match. They should always have that at Survivor Series
I really enjoyed it as a kid. To a smarter audience these days the goodies and the baddies coincidentally being teamed up at the end might not wash so I’d combine the finale with another one-shot gimmick - The Wildcard Match. Draw the teams for the final randomly and force some more friends to fight and enemies to team.
Crap, already knew the two winners, warrior sucked as champ despite going on to have a great match vSavage after losing his belt.
@@stevepmg9202was about to say that. The goodies and baddies in the same teams were lame, where in 1995 with the wildcard, it was cool. Every match should be a wild card. Where royal rumble u can’t trust anyone. Survivor Series should be u do anything to survive even team with your enemies. Or do what Bruce said and have a battle Royal at the end in the finale
Spent the whole episode teasing what happened to Bad News Brown only for Prichard to say “I don’t know” 😒😒😂😂😂
You can tell Vince McMahon is a racist. He really never gave title shots to black people. No matter how good they were. Ron Simmons was heavyweight champion in WCW in 1992.
Taker's 1st match was before survivor series on superstars .... but that taping didn't show until December
The best Survivor Series of all time.
Bruce has a thing for the name Kane. He originally gave Undertaker the name. Then years later, Glenn Jacobs character was named Kane. That was Prichard's brainchild. To top it all off, Bruce has a son that he named Kane.
Chad Pugh that’s cool didn’t know he named his son kane
Chad Pugh Your right, and I apologize.
i think he likes coke to.. if only the two could come together
Chad Pugh hadnt put two and two together until you pointed that out. Well played good sir
Kane is like the default badass name/gimmick to baby boomers, lol. Cornette was also obsessed with it. Even as a kid I saw the similarities between Jason Voorhees/Michael Myers. Glad my intuition was confirmed!
Could Bruce explain the concept between89-94 of the double main event concept where they would have one half before intermission and one at the end.
Connie talks about Danny DeVito in Twins, he should have said Throw Momma from the Train
One of the best PPVs ever. They had a loaded roster. They introduced the Undertaker. They had numerous feuds going on at the time that played a part in the matches. Even the shitty parts (Gooker) are funny in a way. And Hot Rod Rowdy Piper was on fire doing color commentary. A thanksgiving classic.
I wonder how many people left during that 10sec pause at around 1:59 cause they thought their internet took a crap.
"You got the wrong Skyscrapper".
Rip Hawk!
1:52:07-Here’s what stuck out to me as a kid (especially concerning Battle Bowl): How coincidental was it that all the good guys ended up on the SAME TEAM!!!!
I figured the Red Rooster was in the egg 🥚
Gobbledegook!!!🐓
I want to know the logic behind Ric Flair coming out of an egg. Why the heck would people think that was going to happen?
I thought Zues was going to come out of the egg, I didn`t expect the gobbly gooker, I was so deflated, hated the rest of that PPV.
Conrad does such a good job. Great research. Does an amazing job picking Bruce’s brain.
he is a butt hurt fat fuck
He basically just reads dirt sheets...
i kinda like the sole survivor concept. It was different and kinda cool
I like this version of Bruce… hella chill… either was just chillin or was on that good cali 😂
The first couple years were great. So much behind the scenes stuff from my favorite periods of wrestling in the WWF. Honestly, what left is there to talk about on a weekly basis for Bruce, especially now that he is back in WWE. He's not going to bad mouth WWE in any way now.
13:44 it finally gets started
i watch survivor series 1990 i was 5 year old i like survivor series 1990 i November Hulk Hogan, Tito Santana and The Ultimate Warrior defeated Hercules, Paul Roma, Rick Martel, Ted DiBiase and The Warlord with Virgil and Slick was great survivor series and debut of The Undertaker who went on to become the WWF Champion at the next Survivor Series in 1991
I november lamp
The Undertaker had two WWF matches under this belt prior to Survivor Series 1990, contrary to what Bruce said here. One on Superstars, one on Challenge, both were televised.
Neither of those matches had aired prior to the survivor series.
@@jasonrfoss248 I know?
Teemu Asikainen Are you asking if you know?
Rick Rude was 'suspended' for making mean comments about Bossmans mom - I suspect there is more... LOL
Yeah... Making fun of bossman's mom is ok, but when you say it with a mustache full of cocaine, ya get an unpaid vacation...
And when they feuded in 1993 in WCW, Tony Schiavone remarked that Rude made offensive comments about The Boss' mother
I thought this was the best thing I'd ever seen when first watching it about 6month later (helped by Rick Martel going over). Watching it back 12years later. That's why kids can't vote.
Just watched the build up and this ppv. The reason Demolition wore the masks on the graphics was from a previous show promo. It was on Prime Time, they did it so nobody could tell who they were (like they had done with the Machines). It would allow Demolition to switch out, and nobody would know (fans of course would). Then they didn't wear them at the ppv lol
You are right!! Because of one thing that Demolition liked to do was pull a switch ala the Bella twins👍😎
RUDE QUIT BECAUSE IN HIS WORDS.... "IM WORKING WITH THE WORLD CHAMP (WARRIOR) AND IM GETTING PAID LIKE IM THE BROOKLYN BRAWLER JOBBING OUT IN THE FIRST MATCH"

The WWF missed out on big $$$$$ when they had Hogan vs Slaughter in WM7 instead of Hogan vs Rude for the strap. Seems like the WWF had a running theme with missed opportunities for mega dream matches because they did it 2 years in a row as well when Hogan vs Flair WM8 Hogan vs Hart WM9 were never booked. Does any one else think they blew Millions of possible business because of this major oversight?
@@monsturokapone8458 especially not having hogan vs flair...the debate was always who is the real champion
I'm almost certain Lawler came up with the Undertaker in Memphis and pitched it to Vince
Piper was hilarious during this show. I swore during the Hart/Disease showdown he actually said faaaaaack man. But Hart had that crowd in the palm of his hand. How could you guys gloss over Hart/Disease!
His commentary during the Gobbleygook was priceless.
That Undertaker tombstone looked ROUGH
Million Dollar Disease LOL!
That Shane Douglas buddy rose dark Match was the first wrestling match I saw live
I didn’t realize they did it at the survivor series too I saw the summer slam one
Bruce’s version and Marks version of where The Undertaker came from conflict. Mark says Vince had the character in his head for ages and was waiting for the right guy, Bruce says they crafted the character once he’d signed.
After WrestleMania 6. Perfect and Warrior would fight at house shows.
James Bonnen, They fought?...like backstage? What happened?
Name one

Damn this episode is crazy lots of facts the HULK ones got me I never knew that keep it up guys loving these
“Is this the Undertaker?” - Vince to Mark Calloway
I was born in 1980 and started watching wwf around 84-85 and loved everything and all the wrestlers, up until they killed off hogan with the undertaker.
Just went downhill from then and I didn’t like it, hated DX and HBK, up until the stonecold era
Hartford babbyyyyy
Is there a video for the 1989 survivor series?
I can't believe Brother Brucie doesn't remember the Hulkster War Bonnet.
So basically this night was created just to get over Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan over. Not surprised there. Both guys were so over with the fans that it was awesome to see. Crazy to hear that Mark Calloway learned as he go as Undertaker. He was so good that you couldnt tell.
They should've waited til survivor series 99 and had jericho pop out of an egg...
That would be egg-celent
Break the Eggshells Down!!!
1:29:57 The Undertaker debut.
Thanks
@1:06:20 POWER AND GLORY WAS A GREAT TEAM, WWF JUST NEVER GAVE THEM A PUSH AT ALL! THEY JUST USED THEM AS A STEPING STONE TO THE TOP TEAMS. VERY SAD TO WASTE 2 GUYS LIKE THEM. RIP HURK😥
I think the idea of Warlord being eliminated so easily in the final match was to sell the DDT that Jake gave him if I remember correctly.
Jake was more ove than Warlord but the warlord went on to have good match with the Bulldog when he rejoined the WWF, I think the warlord wa a better in ring worker than warrior, kind of a poor man`s Steve Austen, he should have had a title match v Warrior.
1:45:15 Sorry Bruce, but Undertaker did indeed wrestle a couple house shows before appearing at the 11/22/90 Survivor Series. Billed as Kane the Undertaker, he pinned Jim McPherson and Mario Mancini in two different matches in Rochester on 11/19/90, and then pinned Dusty Rhodes and Rick Sampson in two separate matches on 11/20/90 in Syracuse.
10 months before his SS debut?
I suppose you meant 11/22 and 11/19.
@@HereIsWisdom1318 Yes, thanks.
Warlord was such a Roidy McGoo, had the massive body look, intimidating presence but as Bruce always says “and then the bell rang”. No skills and just never could get over as that Big Viscous Monster Heel.
He did v bulldog though cause Davey was a much better worker and carried him.
I would love to hear about survior series 94, one day..
Mike Anthony you liked series 94 ? It was OK I don't think it was the best in my opinion
I liked it a lot, because it was the first wwe event that I went to,the other was royal rumble 97
Mike Anthony thats cool. I went to a lot of house shows and also WrestleMania 9
Presley 17 kool!
@@mikeanthony718 I'm in a similar situation. First PPV i saw on tv when i was kid was wrestlemania 9. because it was my first i always liked that mania and it has a place in my heart - in reality the show sucked big time and so did survivor series 94
Conrad has to be one of the dumbest people ever saying not to run on holidays, because of people needing a day off. Then Bruce answered no it's cause they didn't think it'd draw. My mother and my dad divorced when I was 6 months old. I always had 2 Christmases and 2 Thanksgivings. Since my mom's family all moved to Knoxville which is 2 hour drive from my dad's house, we always had the holiday with my mom's family a week early or a week later. This isn't the 50s when parents didn't get divorced.
57:11 Scitexing story about "photoshopping" Hogan's bald spot.
Tim Viper no wonder Vince sought out Tom Magee
Still my favorite WWF PPV. #2 is Royal Rumble 1992.
Royal rumble 92 was the greatest!
Ted DiBiase never announced him as Kane btw. They had dropped Kane by the time they got to Survivor Series but he had already filmed 5 matches and promos for those matches as Kane The Undertaker.
As usual, you have to skip to around 15 minutes in to get passed all the god damn ads.
Carver true tho these are so long can hardly complain
Carver, Yeah it's how they get paid. Otherwise u prob Dont get a podcast . so just keep skipping them and stop complaining
I'm glad they knock most of them out right away, makes it nice they don't do many through the rest of the show
Carver it's true but without Those ads they're probably wouldn't be a podcast
I think I'm the only one who loves the ads.
American style advertising is comedy gold for an English boy like me.
The Warlord looks like a jacked up Stone Cold Steve Austin in this picture
Wow Bruce sounds really lethargic in this. Im surprised Conrad doesn’t call him on it. Perhaps he’s sick or hungover but sounds a bit under the weather in this and not his usual self.
Brother has heart condition.
They talked about it at the 1st part of the video where Bruce said he was not feeling well...
1:42:00 It was Michael Myers, in Halloween (1978), who started the "sit up" thing, after playing dead. Not Jason. Michael popularized it, as those Halloween movies were more successful than the Friday 13th franchise.
Did DC ever sue for Legion of Doom rights?
58:05 As opposed to recent years when Hulk's hair has been really thick on top and growing out of control?
Bruce sounds medicated again here, LOW (No) energy.
It's an um..."Allstars" type concept....an um...."All-star" type um match....NO! It was all the survivors from each match facing off at the end.I actually liked the idea.,just not Hogan and Warrior as the survivors.Like the concept and wish they did it again.Actually lined Pritchard's idea of survivors in a final battle royal.THAT would be awesome to decide a SOLE SURVIVOR! Gives me an idea for 2k18!
Sounds a lot like BattleBowl
toptenguy1 sounds exactly like battle bowl lol.
WWE should bring back Lethal Lottery. It was a great concept for PPV.
So like Starcade Battle Bowl?
Hogans fist helmet was called the war bonnet
If you watch the early tombstones that the undertaker used to do a lot of them looked rough. He used to do them differently and the one on Koko looked bad. When he used to do the under the shoulder hookor trapped one of their arms he didn't squeeze his knees in tightly to stabilize the head as often as he does now.as time progressed you could tell that his knees were tight to keep the head in line and they were super safe. But those early tombstones looked so fucking unsafe. So I think Koko had a legit beef there but the Hogan one was extremely safe. He wasn't even close to touching.
I agree, I cringed at that Tombstone
Regarding Dusty and his different darker outfit ... Maybe I'm wrong, but my childhood memory was that he changed to a more sombre costume because of Sapphire betraying him and taking the Million Dollar Man's cash ...
Surprised neither of the guys mentioned that.
I was expecting a lot more in the blow away diet thing. I had something totally different in mind that would have been pretty funny. lol
Perfect should have been in more main events than warrior.
Something is up with Bruce on this one
OMG another infomercial brought to you by leather by Dan???
Boris Zhukov ( James Kirk Harrell ) is not from the Carolina's but Roanoke VA.
The "CAROLINA" territory (wrestling term)....
I agree with Bruce on the Championships. Maybe sell the custom ones online on WWE Shop.
I don’t agree with his thoughts on the sole survivor concept. I believe this was the best SS in part for that reason. It brought back a bigger stakes feeling and formed final teams you would have otherwise wouldn’t have expected.
As a kid, just seeing Tito Santana rub shoulders with Hulk Hogan & The Ultimate Warrior was incredible. Every year new guys could be elevated from this concept and different size odds can be formed for a baby face to try to overcome each year.
What Number podcast was the Houston one eventually then?
You can't tell us why Perfect never had a big program with Hogan? Really? I mean...... really? Because Hogan was only wrestling ridiculous cartoon characters at the time. It was the same reason he wouldn't put Dibiasi or Bret Hart over. He thought they were "too small" to beat him, even though they'd work circles around Hogan. Such a long list of guys he held back.
Mr. Perfect was scheduled to to win the 1990 royal rumble but fucking Hogan used his power stroke at the last minute to go over, even though there was nothing to gain from winning that rumble.
Piper made that ppv so great !
I love how Conrad always gets so offended by fat jokes. Classic!
Just watched that Gobbly Gooker segment on here and the fans were into it as Okerlund was building it up. Then that stupid thing popped out and they booed the shit out of it. Then they went to the ring and Gene Okerlund saved the whole damn thing.
Chad Pugh Are you a moron? Mean Gene dancing around with it didn't come close to saving the segment!
BIlly Ray why the name calling? Gene at least made it entertaining. Of course that's my opinion and you don't have to agree.
Chad Pugh I got 2 words for ya' HECTOR GUERRERO
Gobbledy*
The fans were not into it. I just watched it, 90% were just standing there, there were a few kids or women dancing to the song.

I have to think Blow Away was some sort of cocaine rib. I mean, it had to be, surely.

Yes, in a different world they would have been a great tag team with Austen carrying the Warlord.
Don't feel bad Bruce.. EVERYBODY hated Jeff Hardy's custom belt in TNA.. That thing was such a piece of trash!!
These "watch alongs" are unwatchable on here. The ads mess it up. Just saying.
Really did piss me off skipping Undertaker's match til later haha
If I remember they had it on holy foley when mick and his daughter where tour a wwe building.
Did you have a stroke typing that?
If bad news didn't leave the WWF would the undertaker have a big send off?
Let’s pretend that Savage wasn’t injured, there was no giant egg, and that Rude, Simba, Akeem, and Bad News stuck around. We could have maybe had a quick 6th match with Tito/Bulldog/Buddy Rose/Barry Horowitz vs. Bad News/Haku/Zhukov/Brawler.
Okay????
Why did the wrestlers always wear sunglasses in doors?
Same reason girls do at Raves
Bruce sounds so pissed-off and fed up on this one
Yup, noticed that right away.
He was sick.
