Thanks for the honest and realistic portrayal of how is it to live in Canada. Living in Canada is not that bad really. Nagmigrate kami dyan 2010. Hirap din ako makahanap ng i. T. Jobs kahit 24 years n akong may experience sa pinas. Ang ginawa ko nagupgrade ako. Took all certification exams for i. T. After i passed microsoft and Comptia exams dami ko ng nakukuhang request for interview. In the end nagwork ako sa pinakamalaking courier company sa Canada. To cut the story short. Aim for a career. Do not get contented doing survival or odd jobs. I retired early and decided to go back here in the philippines. As they say, it is more fun in the Philippines.
Dreamed of US but failed. So Canada is okay, stereotype of living in a place with snow.😢
Salamat kabayan gusto k p nmn punta dyn s canada pero nawalan nko ganda heheh god bless
Thank you sa magandang advice po sir
@@josephinelagrosa8931 You're Welcome.
This helps a lot po. Salamat sa good advise sir
I read so many articles about living in Canada. The more I go deeper into nitty-gritty information the more I realize not to pursue going to Canada. I work here in the Philippines as an ordinary government employee and enjoy it so much. I have enough time with my family and my church activities. I am happy with my job here even though I will not earn a high salary, just enough to survive. I never noticed within a couple of years I will retire. I grow up here in the Philippines and I think I spend the rest of my life here in my beautiful country.
Wisest decision
Same with me, I choose to stay here in the Philippines kahit maraming nag-eencourage sakin to work abroad. I cant imagine lang siguro na malalayo ako sa family ko and ma-miss even a single occasion with them. Sakto lang din ang income ko as a govt employee, I can pay my bills and nare-ward din ang sarili and nati-treat ang family once in a while.
Good decision! Contentment in life as much the will of God is more important.
It's really not bad at all. Just like any other place, you need to work to survive and make the most of the opportunities that are available.
Sabi nga there's no placce like home...
I was offered in Canada and Australia. And I still choose the Philippines. No regrets and I'm happy.
Nasa stage ako mg choosing to go back home din. Haaaaay
Yep Agree 100% with you my Daughter is in the US she was asking me to move there with them but I said big NO! I don’t want to go back where it was masarap na buhay ko sa Pinas at Europe that’s it happy na ako kahit bumalik ako ng Pinas.
Good decision if you have money just stay in Philippines .
When I was younger, I always thought ang swerte ng mga OFW but later realized the people they leave in the Philippines were actually the lucky ones.
I worked my ass off nung nasa Vancouver pko..wla akong sinayang na panahon..nanny during the day, graveyard at 7pm-3am.. catering crew on the wk ends..para lng may extra kita to send back dito sa pinas..para may pambayd ng bills..para may pambili ng gustong bilhin.. but I left Canada almost 10yrs ago na.. I never miss Canada at all..na miss ko lng mga frens ko...wlang kasing sarap mabuhay dito sa pinas...Hindi biro magtrabaho sa ibang bansa...lalo mag isa ka lng...
Me too i love Phils

As an expat Canadian living in Cebu, PH, I will also add to your comments about the weather. The Philippines has a very consistent temperature. Canada, especially inland away from the oceans, can be bitterly cold in the winters as you said, but also scorching hot in summers, way hotter than most of the Philippines. I love the weather here in the Philippines 🙏
I miss the ocean in the philippines and the greenich pizza. Yung otap, bbq yung rice nasa coconut leaves, kalamay, so much more. Weird lang kasi we’re born in the philippines and dapat tayong pumunta sa canada para mag trabaho then balik sa pinas if gusto natin mag bakasyon .

@@noexcuses5524 business is the key here in the Philippines. I am a call center agent initially I am planned to work abroad but change my mind when I realize that it is better to have businesses here in PH. My dream is to come back to the province to pursue agriculture business.
excellent choice, when you retire, settle in the Philippines and just collect your pension there.
@@valarmorghulis8139 . My friend, i agree with you. I am here in Canada, my next journey will be farming in my home country, the PH and share my faith . According to the scriptures : "man cannot live by bread alone but with every words that comes out of the mouth of God." God bless
salamat sa internet, nalalaman natin kung ano talaga ang meron sa ibang bansa like Canada and the U.S. I would rather tackle the heat and the rain here in the Philippines, wear sando, slippers and shorts , which you cannot do there.
😔
True I've been living in Europe,UK,France. These are great countries to live and to learn . But nowadays people are revolting with the prices of everything food ,shelter and education.
We can wear slippers here and shorts during summer dude. As for me, I love the cold here in Canada, would rather have that one than the prickling heat of the Philippines.
Your obviously not one of the millions starving poor in philippines.
@@VICTORIA-M-A this vlogger is cleRly new to the country and knows nothing about life in canada based on the factors he mentioned which are mostly lack of knowledge of the pinoy about their decision to go abroad
I'm also working abroad but just in the neighbor SEA nation, and what most of the Filipinos don't understand is how good the Philippine blue sky is, you will not see that blue sky anywhere else in most other countries, try to ask those Koreans living in the Philippines and that is one of the most reason they enjoyed. So overall love and enjoy living in the Philippines.
yes ! even korean famous celebs and vloggers post how beautiful the sky is in the Philippines... wow i always thought its the same sky anywhere in the world
Agree 100% . I'm also an OFW. It's very important to have a well planned long term plan. The best pa rin an Phil. U just have to save for ur future enough to live a little above average life in the Phil.
same here. i love to return in Philippines enjoying the sunshine, blue sky, rice fields and simoy ng dagat. I live in pangasinan by the way. bery beautiful retiring place for me

5 years ako nagwork as factory worker sa Japan at the age of 21 from 2005 to 2010, pero nagtiis naman ako kahit Architecture graduate ako.
Back to zero ka, need mo mag aral para ma upgrade mo skills mo.

It's good to see a realistic portrayal. Many of my extended family in Philippines do not believe me when I inform them we really are not rich here. A "large" amount of money simply changes hands - it comes in and goes right back out again, just to provide shelter, food and utilities, leaving little for transportation or recreation. And I am Canadian born with a decent job. Respect to people who are able to pick up and come here starting from scratch.
Hi, eto nga talaga the realistic portrayal. My mom would tell stories about Canada kasi her kumare is living in Canada it’s all about the pleasures in life. And the mindset kapag nasa abroad ka mayaman ka.😅
Man kudos to this man, He can speak clear english and fluent din sa tagalog 😮 Hands up! Salamat sa effort bro keep it up. #Indianongbisdak #TheGOAT
I have been to Canada 5 years ago, just for vacation. My sisters live there for years already and I must say, Canada is not for me.
that's true..😊
Buhay mahirap
Spot on.

Thank you for being an eye opener. Not all that glitters is a diamond talaga.
I don’t know why Filipino are too much expectation in Canada and America.
Earning money in an extreme conditions will make you think to put more value with your earnings.
Baka bayad po siguro ng agency yun😅
Maganda ang video, totoo din sabi nya, but like what he said, depende lng talaga sa tao. Sa North America kase ganyan tlaga, pero mas okay naman ang security dito sa canada compared sa pinas and mga gamit, lahat ng gusto mo mabibili mo basta may work ka, and pantay2. Plus, hightech, etc... Mahirap talaga magsimula, like what he said, dapat may "plan" talaga.

If you're a practicing professional (whether an engineer, nurse, doctor, lawyer, cpa, dentist or teacher) here in the Philippines, kung masipag, maagap at matiyaga ka uunlad din ang buhay. I am a practicing civil engineer (now at age 68 still works as consultant) for the past 40 years. I was able to have my own house & lot at age 35. I was able to sent my 2 daughters in refutable university (UST) and they finished their respective courses and both are now professinals too. The trouble with some of Pinoys they opted to work abroad para yumaman or umunlad agad or at shortest time. Basta tiyaga lang ang live on your means at wala kabulastugan, success will come@
Yes I agree with you po.
Correct me if I’m wrong. “Magbudget lang” I think that’s one of the things that many Pinoys don’t do. 😅
It doesn't apply to everyone lol. Real talk yan.
Not well compensated din sila dito kahit malaki tingnan. Not to live beyond means.
My niece is a CPA and monthly salary nya 60k na she's in her 20s. Matipid at hindi rin sya maluho. My nephew naman engineer in his 20s at 50k monthly salary. I guess tyaga lang talaga at magsipag.
We came to Canada in 2008 as immigrants and I can say that we're appreciative and grateful to live here. I'm a CPA back home and although I didn't upgrade anymore, I was able to get a well-paying job about a month after we landed and it's also in the field of Finance. My husband also got a good job as a maintenance technician. Our 2 children are now post-secondary graduates and have good jobs already. We all like living here for the following reasons: health care is free, driving and going around here is very easy as there's discipline in the road as when you're not a disciplined driver, it will cost your car insurance premium to go up if you have many violations or speeding tickets and yung "kotong" system is never heard here. Traffic is very light also. We've weighed everything and we can say the pros still outweigh the cons in living here compared to the Phils.
This kind of comment is what I'm looking for. It's true that living in Philippines is very convenient but the system really sucks and I don't see my kids going through all the struggles I had when I'm starting building my career. Most of the aspiring immigrants are thinking the future of their children, not just to simply live there, experience the snow nor have those fancy trick or treats. For me, Canada is much better place to live for my kids, and I don't care doing odd jobs for them.
Akala nila is a bed of roses pag sa Canada or wherever else in the world.
@@jezzybanez2135 Everyone has the right to his own opinion and we can not force anybody to like or unlike a place where he wants to settle. It is a decision one has to decide and no other else can decide on his behalf unless one is not mentally able.

sabi ng mga foreigner na nagstay sa pilipinas mura raw ang bilihin. the only problem we the filipinos facing are bad government system at lack of job opportunity. pero in terms of real estate ay halos lahat ng pilipino ay may titulo. thank you for sharing the fact :)
Self sufficient sila sa gulay, meat and milk. 😁
Been thinking about going there too po. As in AU and NZ talaga yung target.
Au rn ako dito. Sahod ko 50 per hr.
It's the same here in the States. Salamat for your honest vlog. Maraming nag romanticize ng pag aabroad without telling the whole truth. I gave my best friend the same reality check years ago when her husband was planning to move to Canada because marami silang kilala na nag migrate. I told her na di madali ang buhay sa abroad. I had to work weekends and have 2 jobs so I'm not able to be there for the kids all the time. She never worked a day in her life after graduating from college so sabi ko if they move she has to be ready to do odd jobs and leave the kids. Long story short, they opted to stay in Pinas and I think it's better. I hope more people will see this video. I'm sending her this one😊
Me and my wife will be in Canada next week for the May intake. We are both excited and takot din at the same time. We are expecting the worst pero alam nyo naman tayong mga pinoy, laban lang lagi.
I always tell my friends who are also interested to move here in Sydney, make sure you don't forget your reasons for moving. Your reasons will make you stay kasi mahirap kalaban ang home-sickness. tama. actually di lang sa canada, ganyan din yung expectation ng mga professionals na gustong mag work sa japan. they expect na easy lang sa kanila na makapasok doon dahil professionals sila. they just don't expect na hindi ganoon ang case.
one thing na dapat nilang isipin pag mangingibang bansa sila is they should drop those "titles" at maging versatile.
The problemis with pinoys lacck of thinking and la k information ... not with the country they go to.
The problem is people back home don't realize that they are competing with people from other countries plus the locals for careers, just because they think that they have "titles" back home. Unfortunately, sa Pinas naging yabang na ang "titles" and the dynamics, the system and the culture here in Canada are so much different.
Life abroad is not easy as what people back home have been thinking, I can relate to all your stories and experienced, I have been living in the U.K. for over twenty years can’t wait for my retirement to come and get settle down back home.

Welcome back Sir upon ur retirement
Korek. Nandito rin ako sa UK malapit ng 30 yrs and will be retiring in approx 10 years time, but I don't think I can wait those years. I'm thinking to semi retire in the next 1 to 2 years and get my chances to live and start my life, bagung pamumuhay ventures sa Pinas before I'm too old to start it. This is kind of gamble really. I hate the winters, yung grey lahat, minus ang sunshine, naku, parang hilig mag hibernate. I only go out for work, days I don't work I prefer to stay in my home. That seemed to make me feel like dragging me speedily to old age, with diseases, parang I feel like 80 y.o. na ako pag winter na dito. Kung sprng na like now, maraming strong sunshine na, I feel happy at, parang ma energise talaga ako, and I feel that's life. Problam lang 2 have two adult children na, indenpendent na sa akin, mag asawa ng isa and looking forward to their own families. S na isip ko kung babalik ako sa Pinas for good or for longer periods, e maliit lang ang time ng bonding ko sa mga anak ko at mga future grand kids. But I love to start life sa Pinas while I have the time, bagung pa mumuhay, bagung buhay.

Super correct! Lived in US for 12 years, on my 5th year I petitioned for my parents. We all worked hard and saved. Lalo na ang parents ko. Sobra silang tipid, walang gala gala at di maluho. Last year ako at family ko, then parents ko umuwi na din this month.

I completely agree with you on all of your insights! It is the same way in the United States. Most professionals in the Philippines moving overseas, have to take on studies in Canada and the United States in order to qualify for the licenses/certifications required for their former professions. Sometimes for many Filipinos, you may make less than you can afford if you are single. I know Filipinos who have two jobs just to be able to:
1) Pay for a room in someone's house or rent a studio apartment.
2) Pay for transportation/fuel (Before my friend had a car, she had to wait at the bus stop in the cold winters) and sometimes your workplace can be far from where you live.
3) Pay for utilities (In many places during the winter, you will need a heater to stay warm at home, and if it is electric, it just adds to your expenses).
4) Buy clothes for all 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
5) Go out to eat or drink with friends. It can be hard to keep up with some established Filipinos who are already settled in their professions. Still you should join the nearest Filipino clubs just so that you are less homesick, and they know that you are living in their city or town. Keep in touch with some people you get along with, and they may remember you during home celebrations during holidays, birthdays, etc. Always bring something for your host or hostess: You can ask them if you can bring dessert or a bottle of inexpensive wine.
6) Buy airline tickets for vacations to the Philippines every few years. Don't expect to be able to just go home every year. Your employer may only give you a week to two weeks of vacation and you have to remember the time difference because you lose a day flying. What may be a 10 day vacation is actually just 9 days. Bereavement leave can only be 2 or 3 days depending on the employer.
Oh, and pasalubong costs for the family in the PI! Yikes!
7) Sending money home to family in the PI is sometimes not possible if you are trying to establish yourself in your new country.
There's more but, this is all I can think of right now.
You stated the facts. You have to step back and must be willing to upgrade when you get here if you are yearning to have more comfortable life. It is not bad to settle with survival jobs, but you will struggle and more likely live pay check to pay check which is frustrating. It is hard to start all over again, but if you are resilient and optimistic, you will do well.
Exactly! I agree with everything you said. Dapat talaga buo ang loob.
Sounds like pinoys lack normal thinking

someone pls reply saan pu ba mas maayos at mas makaaga mka permanent residency sa canada or australia???

Great vlog! Very good points. Thank you for the effort.
Healthcare wise, I would still choose Canada. Don't get me wrong, the Philippines has excellent healthcare if you have the means (good insurance, lots of money), but imagine having none of that, and having a chronic illness (kidney failure, diabetes, cancer) or needing expensive procedures done (life saving surgery?). Maybe a prolonged ICU stay? Prolonged rehab?...Just a few things that came to mind.
I would rather pay my taxes and have peace of mind. If you have a full time job here you will get benefits from your company like prescription medications, etc.
My mom was hospitalized 7 years ago. 2 weeks ICU stay. Intubated. Expensive antibiotics, scans, medications etc. Bill= over 1m pesos.
Dad underwent heart surgery and aneurysm repair 6 years ago. 2 days ICU stay. 3 days regular room stay. Over 1m bill.
He got COVID 2 years ago. 500k pesos bill. 1 week in an isolation room. Not even ICU.
You guys get what I'm saying. You will lose your life savings on healthcare in the Philippines if you get sick, and again if you don't have great insurance/money saved.
My wife gave birth 3 years ago. High risk. 1:1 nursing + midwife in the hospital and OB on call. We paid 7 dollars for parking. Got a take home bag of goodies for our baby. 2 weeks HOME VISIT follow up with the midwife.
My aunt had a stroke, almost passed away. Over 1 week in the ICU then months of rehab. Again no extra cost, just parking. Everything paid thru everyone's taxes.
I will have a homeless patient in one room and a CEO of a company in the other. Everyone gets the same care.
Canada is not perfect. Heck for entertainment it's DECADES behind the Philippines. But it all depends on what is important to you and your family.
I don't want to burden my wife and child with hospital bills and the fear of losing our house when I get sick.
I beefed up my life insurance so when I pass away my family will at least have some financial freedom. I have long term disability insurance from work, so If I become disabled, I'll have some income replacement etc.
If I had a high paying job with good insurance in the Philippines, I would have stayed. But because this is my truth, I am staying in Canada. But definitely visiting the homeland for some R & R.
Sorry for the long comment. I had some time lol.
I agree with everything you said! Maraming salamat for sharing your story po! Ingat kayo 😁
@@indianongbisdak Thanks for the vlog bro. You are doing a great thing here. Keep it up! Let's go Raptors!
I would rather live heathy in the Philippines than get sick and avail free health care services in Canada! Well anyway, if you die, you die! 😆
No you don't get it. Ika nga prevention is better than cure. D ba mga pagkain jan genetically-modified? Youre trying to justify healthcare with bills payment. but missed the point in whats causing the sicknesses. unlike sa pinas hingi ka lang ng gulay sa kapitbahay mo, non-GMO pa. we have it all here what it takes to be healthy.. stubborn lang talaga mag exercise, less sun exposure dahil sa white color supremacy, proper diet, enough sleep, stress from marites, etc. Leaving the country when it needs most the expertise and help. Hey mate, appreciate this post. I worked in canada for about 6 months back in 2008, temp work sponsored ng company. After 6 months I went back home and considered working overseas. Moved here in AU, been here for 8 yrs now, and I agree 100% with your points. Everything is romanticized, but reality is your expenses are usually proportionate with your pay and you have to be smart with your earning and find ways to save. I think one thing tho na for me makes this all worth it is yung thought that when I retire or get sick I’m ok because of the government support and free health care system na hindi ko basta basta makukuha sa pinas. When I moved here in AU, like most people, I worked on industries na completely unrelated sa profession ko. And that’s ok, it just takes time, and now I am happily working on my field of profession. Tiis tiis lang, hard work pays usually.
I hate western countries for being not fair... if an engineer come here from US to work, he work as an engineer tingin natin mas magaling sila, kung basagan lang ng mukha hindi sila uubra sa Pinoy..... I met filipino engineer in US he worked in a factory, could not use his profession. Wasted years!!!!😛😛😛punta ka pa ng US tapos sa factory lang ang bagsak.

Thank you for the honest review, this will enlighten more people on how it really is living in Canada. My mom and my siblings are PR in Canada and the cost of living there is really too high. I think cost of living applies to all countries. Even in the Philippines, a decent salary is not enough to provide a decent lifestyle. Paycheck to paycheck is the norm. I think it all depends on perspectives too. Someone from the PH will hold this view that by moving to the US/Canada/Australia, they can own a big landed house, have cars, and live a laid back life. That makes these countries look bad then when they find out people there suffer from the same financial issues. If you'd ask me, I actually like Canada because even if the cost of living is high, it is certainly not Singapore level. What I earn here in SG can get me more in Canada. Of course, you mention the need for odd jobs but if you are accustomed to living a frugal lifestyle (which is considered normal here in Singapore), I think it is something manageable in the short run.
It is all in the perspective.

I came across this video and your channel quite by accident but enjoyed the video very much having been born and raised in Canada. What you say is spot on. I didn't guess by your appearance (mustache and beard) that you are Filipino until I heard the Tagalog. I smiled a little extra with you doing the video there in the snow while I'm here in the heat of our new home in the beautiful city of San Fernando (Pampanga). My wife and I left Canada (Vancouver) for the more retirement friendly lifestyle of the Philippines last October, and I love this city so much. I don't really ever want to go back to Canada other than visits with family back there. It's not the country I grew up loving any more and has been totally destroyed by politicians both Federal and Provincial. There are a lot of people leaving and it's not just the people who migrated there recently.
I believe many would still take those risks... Dito sa Pinas, mataas narin ang cost of living compared to your income but the issue is, unlike Canada,
You can't get 2-3 jobs in the Philippines kasi opportunities are very, very "RARE"
For many Pinoys who are mostly college undergrad, they would take those risks.
Yun na nga eh. I agree with you po

I agree, for your honest and realistic portrayal of how is it to live in Canada. It's definitely not easy there. Everything you said was on point!🙏
Some people think being in another country is all roses. It is WORK. You need to work a lot to survive the rising costs of living. You have to start from the bottom and build yourself up to get to the level you previously were in or want to be. It takes a number of years of patience and perseverance.
Thanks for portraying the reality❤

Salamat po! And thats the goal pre!
It not discouraging, its helping in a way of educating base on experience. Its a matter of planning. Benefits in canada is better. If at old age you got sick, uubos ka na ng million.
@@peter-gz9fj I totally agree!!
Most difficult part is to start jud bai.. Once upgraded and raised your position, you and your family will benefit. Know your benefits and especially the taxation so you get the most of it. Try to pay your loans and mortgages. Save and invest the rest of your money on registered tax deferred accounts which most of them disregarded these. Anyways, it's their life.. Enjoy canada, there's a lot of beautiful places to go and nicest people to meet. Mike fr Sask

Facts! Yes, you used the most precise word for it, romanticized. Living in a country with a "bad quality of life", moving into countries like Canada, Japan, Australia, Netherlands etc., is always a wet dream. People tend to build towards this dream of a "better life" outside their homes but they most likely have not really faced the reality that it's still a huge gamble. I have known a LOT of people coming back from these 1st world countries after 2-3 years and telling me that they feel depressed. They say that their careers, lifestyles and expenditures are the source of their anxieties. It really takes a whole lot of determination and grit to actually appreciate a new start. I think that prospective migrants REALLY have to think about this realistically and not idealistically.
Moving into another country is subjective, true. Some got it good due to luck and support. But some got into another country and are now in the "now what?" phase of their lives. The question we really need to ask ourselves before acting towards migration is "Is it worth it?". If the goal is just "To get out of this country", then that's on you.
Same key ask dito sa pinas.
-healthcare?
-education?
-quality of life?
-geo-politics?
-generational wealth?
I think we have a better opportunity pagnagmimigrate kc our country doesnt support us being the basic unit but made us the cashcow. Free ba? At least sa canada if ako nagkakasakit, i know im in good hands kesa sa pinas, my money is in good hands 😂
What you’re saying are all correct! Yung having 2-3 jobs just to aleviate your life is no longer true. 30 years ago, people can handle that much of job load, with this situation now, I don’t think people will do that. Just saying! Life here abroad is way different now, 30 years back. Masipag ka lang and prioritize your needs versus wants, you will still make it here or there. Good luck! 🇵🇭🇺🇸

The blogger statement is true , masarap lang pakinggan at masabi na galing ka ng Canada but the fact napakahirap ng buhay, Isang kahig Isang tuka Ang mga foreigner Kasama na Ang mga Filipino na nagnanais mkarating Canada upang mgaral at mkakuha ng permanent resident (PR)
Honest and clear explanation..thx so much .salamat kaayo.
Actually not only in Canada! Same In US. Blessed are those that landed in a good job related to their profession or in their profession. I praise and thank God for blessing us. We experienced hardship but still blessed because we have those people that helped us a lot. Families and new sincere friends .
Always prepare for the worst. When I came here, I was prepared to do blue collar jobs, sabi ko nga oks nga ako kahit gasoline station boy. Sabay pagdating ko dito self service pala mga gasoline station 😂 buti na lang nakakuha ako ng job related to my industry.
These days I think ang dagdag pahirap is cost of living, rent these days are crazy so be better prepared for that as well.
You are so fluent in Tagalog and the accent is very Filipino unlike majority of the Indians the way they speak
He is more pinoy in his heart more than many pure pinoy.
You are right. Filipinos should be thankful to you for your exposition about living abroad. It is the same as anywhere in the world.
I am just wondering why so many Filipinos are still trying to pretend that they are well off living abroad just to hide the truth or their hardships.
Time to migrate in australia then. Lots of opportunities here as well. And the weather is nice~
Thanks sa video na toh bro. Will be flying jan end of may as a tourist muna. Jan ko pag isipan mabuti if good plan talaga canada.
