Rob is a legend! The Limit has the most iconic funk/soul sound of the '80s, they defined a decade of music without even realizing it. What I wouldn't give to hear their unreleased second album... "She's So Divine" remains to be my favorite song of all time, to this day. Though, my first exposure to The Limit was "Miracles" (the '85 album version, not the FWO version). I always like to call that song my "gateway drug". It's so good to see that Rob is still doing well, and it's awesome to just get to listen to him talk, and reminisce. He seems to be very down-to-earth, and kindhearted. I wanted to do an interview with Bernard a few years ago, but he unfortunately declined my offer. As Rob said, interviews don't seem to be Bernard's thing. The Limit always has been and always will be my all-time favorite. They found me at an exceptionally low point in my life, when I needed them the most. They were like a breath of fresh air when it felt as though I was drowning, and I've been grateful to them ever since. From the start, I've hoped to somehow show them the impact they've made on my life. They're just one of those musical duos I can't help but consider to be close friends of mine. I still listen to their music almost daily, and I don't foresee that changing. Their music and the emotions it evokes in me are nothing short of magical. Much love from Texas, thank you for this interview!!
Man, The Limit/Oattes Van Schaik are so cool. I love all their songs. Bernard Oattes and Rob Van Schaik did some of the best songs of all time. I love their music so much that I actually tracked down the CD and uploaded the album I have. Miracles, Love Attaxx, and Let Me Go are three of my favorite songs of all time. Let Me Go especially resonates with me and has such a catchy chorus. I also love the stuff they did with Future World Orchestra. It's nice to hear from one of them after many years. I want them to know that they made some of the best music of the 1980's.
This was cool - the album came out 10 years before i was born and imo its one of the best things ive heard, i hope rob and bernard know they created a timeless masterpiece
Super interview! Did you know that the American producer Russell Timmons Jr. has worked with The Limit on the album in New York as an additional producer/mixer. Rob Van Schaik has confirmed that his name was wrongly spelled on the European album cover, Russell Thomas instead of Russell Timmons. Russell Timmons is an R&B producer who recorded with The Reddings, Tyrone Brunson and Lew Kirton!
Great interview! Was such a huge fan I sought out to get every record from The Limit and Oattes Van Schaik and rip it on my channel. I knew Bernard Oattes was still active but wondered what Rob Van Schaik’s doing! Glad we know!
Great interview, amazing to hear from one of/them after all this time, legends in the game!! It is such a shame that nothing happened with Crimes of Passion, Say Yeah is weak relative to most of the tracks on the album and pretty generic IMO, I have always been surprised that it was the single and another album was made? I wonder if this will ever be released! You could probably do a whole podcast with him(and other artists), the music industry dynamics was particularly interesting Thank you M&F and thank you RVS!

One of my favourite songs. It was mixed in " The beat goes on" Those were the days. Nice to see the man behind the music.
