“Bending into the melody note is the key to making your guitar sound dramatic “. Thank you , this is my favorite thing I’ve learned from you. It has taken my playing to another level.
Hi Scott… That is the truth man. Here’s a few more lessons on the subject ruclips.net/video/RGdPNohYEwk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/PZ0toDu-7gE/видео.html
Jesus christ man you are ridiculously good. This is such a killer solo on one of my jerry band favorites. Are you in a cover band? do you have footage on youtube?
Another great one! Just love these, Jack. So incredibly helpful on so many levels: just enough theory to have it make sense, practical stuff that's super reusable in other contexts, broken down enough to help us see the physicality of the technique . . . all great. And hey kids, just for kicks, slow down the playback of the super fast rake of the inverted A chord that Jack does a few times, down to 1/4 speed. Every note, every time, sounds crystal clear. When I do it I just hope I get lucky enough to kinda maybe sorta hint at what maybe sounds A-ish . . . .
another stellar lesson as always Jack. I know you probably get tired of people tossing suggestions at you blue streak, but I'd love to see one of your "soloing concepts" videos about Cats Under the Stars. when Garcia kicks on the Octavider and goes to town it does something to me deep in the recesses of my soul.
Find the recording you consider “definitive”. Try to play the notes that the singer sings on the guitar. Find inventive ways of playing it and occasionally break it up with a few licks/runs to make it interesting.
Dude
Honestly the best I have ever listened or seen on RUclips
Your gonna make me a much less boring guitar player
Truly wonderful instruction! So much to unpack...
Thanks a bunch! I hope it’s not too much.

So beautiful! Love that raw middle pickup too. It’s Jerry tone but it’s also “Jacksnax tone”!
this is so tasteful! Appreciated for the backing track as well. It will come in handy a lot!
I really started thinking this was just a twenty minute long cover where you only soloed and I was kinda there for that

Question: how do you start to develop an approach to build an understating of a vocal melody?

Jerry was always the best interpreter of Dylan
