      Roy Keane, over all else, respects hardwork. He loves Gary Neville, who without doubt was never ever the top fullback in the country; because he worked hard. Cristiano Ronaldo for 20 years has been the hardest working footballer off the pitch. The amount he gets shat on is ridiculous. Pundits can criticise the players where they believe criticism is due; Keane is deeply hurt by the cloud in which he left United and believed it to be management's fault; he saw echoes of the same with Ronaldo and wasn't going to shit on him for it. The other pundits have been protecting their mates in the form of managers when the results were blatant, not players in which the behind the scenes is unknown; huge difference.

    • @lfmm97
      @lfmm97 Год назад +26

      @@gus7007 I love how you're kind of suggesting that a goalscorer isn't somehow a real footballer. There seems to be this weird bias with some people where they seem to think that only midfielders are real footballers and that dribbling/passing is all there is. Ronaldo is the top goalscorer of all time, he's in the top 5 most assists ever and he's arguably the most complete forward ever seen as in his prime he could play anywhere up front, he had all the attributes. All of them.
      Whether some prefer Messi or Ronaldo is another debate, but there is no one that is even close to those two in my opinion. Let alone the fact that the general standard in football is far higher than it was decades ago, which actually causes people to say "well players used to be better back then, we had Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Fenomeno, Kaka, Zidane, etc." but what people fail to mention is that back then, when the standard was lower outside the top teams in the world, it was easier to stand out from the pack. Nowadays, there are very few easy matches, you see far more upsets than ever before in both club and international level as well. To claim otherwise would be an insult to the sport itself because you'd be saying that the biggest and most played game in the world hasn't evolved in the past few decades.
      Plus, you just can't argue with Messi scoring 50 goals in one La Liga campaign and Ronaldo scoring 48 in the same year, back when La Liga was in its prime. These two are a different breed.

    • @gus7007
      @gus7007 Год назад +9

      @@lfmm97 No I'm not saying that, Goalscoring is the biggest part of football but different playertypes are making it possible for "goalscorers" to score goals.
      For example if you're talking about Messi who is a natural talent , probably best dribbler ever, passer, ball carrier, otherworldly vision in the field and more(and also the greatest goalscorer of all time). Ronaldo isn't all that, he's an fantastic athlete and and great goalscorer but there is more to football.
      Do you think Jamie Vardy is a greater footballer than for example Iniesta and Zidane etc because he's scoring more goals. I'm trying to understand how you think my friend.

    Man, I remember watching that actual pre season game when he was on Porto as well. You could tell the "kid" had it. Was pumped when they signed him. And it was very common to see Keano give Ronaldo a shout or two at times when he was over dribbling in those early days - and not playing traditional ManU football at the time. No surprise he thinks Keano was his best captain. He was.

    Roy Keane overreacting here, this Christian Reinaldo is too skinny, he's not like the real Ronaldo Fenomeno

    • @mountain_dewd
      @mountain_dewd Год назад +5

      Fenomeno got fat and retired soon after while CR7 still plays at world top level until today and further. You can always build up muscles but its much harder to drop weight. Not to mention how much more pace CR7 has.

    Keano has shown more loyalty towards his own teammates compared to Giggsy towards his own brother Rodri
