Ok, so I think there has been a small misunderstanding of what was read about captains participation. The captains do not adjudicate, or come to agreements about, "outs." That is the umpires job, and there are off-field umpires who make video calls in the case of a challenge. What you were probably reading about is the fact that captains run the team on the field, not coaches. Coaches get them to the game and can advise during the game but the captain runs the team and makes all the decisions on the field.
I think that video was almost a week ago. But we understand no worries sir. Appreciate you always correcting us and sharing with the channel!! Blessings
If the umpire has a doubt on the run out he can refer it to the third umpire bcz there are 2 umpires on the field in a cricket match, than the 3rd umpire check it in slow motion through various angles and than makes the best decision.
Those Stumps are motion sensor activated. If the ball hits the stumps or any motion occurred to the stumps and bails(the things above the stumps), they lit up
if the ball just kisses the stumps and goes, it wont spark... its built in such a way that the bails or a a bail resting on the top of stumps must be completely dislodged from the stumps... only then it will be triggered.
The thing that makes hitting the stumps during a runout so interesting is because depending on the position in the field you’re throwing from you can either be throwing at all three stumps or just one side on which is extremely difficult. I’ve managed a few runouts from short point and there’s nothing like hearing the deadly quiet from the pavilion when you throw down the stumps from the side to send one of the batsmen into the sheds
Run outs can be from a direct hit but they dont have to be. For example, the ball can be thrown to another fielder who taps the wickets, making them flash. The batter is still out if they havent crossed the line before the wickets are hit and light up. It can even deflect of someone or something else
It’s so much fun!! Especially with my pops because I don’t watch America baseball so now he always is watching cricket matches and enjoy doing them together. Lots more to come thanks!
There hardly ever visible disagreement because the umpire is ALWAYS right, even when he isn't. Players ,and captains ,face stiff fines for visible dissent.
Dave is right! That thing over the wickets are called bails. He was mispronouncing them as "balls". Glad he picked up the word from the last video, where you guys reacted to the rules of cricket.
Direct hits were very rare earlier but becoming quite common these days because the fielders practice it a lot... another way to get the batsmen runout is to throw the ball to the person close to the stumps so he / she can hit the stumps with the ball in hand before the batsman reaches the line ( Crease )
Thanks!! That’s very kind of you. But always remember if one wins then we all win. I’m nothing without the positive people who are already here. Thank you and blessings to you and yours!
So the technology with the stumps(wickets) is that it lights up everything when the bails are dislodged.. Bails: In the sport of cricket, a bail is one of the two smaller sticks placed on top of the three stumps to form a wicket. The bails are used to determine when the wicket is broken or put down, which in turn is one of the critical factors in determining whether a batsman is out bowled, stumped, run out or hit wicket.
Sticks are called stumps. The things on top are called bails. It is only registered as out is the bails are removed, hence the lights in some forms of cricket.
It can't be understated how good the throw at 1 minute is. It's hard enough to gather and throw under time pressure with 3 stumps to aim at but that was side on one stump from over 30 yards away. The stump in approx 1.5inches in diameter. Its an obscenely small margin of error
When I’m out the hospital after 30th. Then we go back to full time 2 videos a day! Will do!! I’m in Canada so had to use Amazon hopefully quality is decent
There are two small sticks called bails connecting the three stumps ,It is not necessary to hit stumps directly you can hit stumps holding the ball in your hand.
13:17 I personally find it boring the idea that Cricket should be just about big hits as many fans like it (can't believe they consider themselves Cricket fans & not just Big Hit Batting fans). The game in general with its strategies around making runs or getting a Batsman out is the more fun part of the game. 15:17 Honestly I can't understand why Canada stopped playing Cricket. Your country has a long history of playing Cricket coz icc (then Imperial Cricket Conference, now International Cricket Council) founded in 1909 barred countries outside of British Empire from becoming members so US, Argentina, etc couldn't keep playing but Canada like Australia should've kept playing. Your dad read about the Spirit of the Game so may be he can read up on Cricket's history in Canada. But I'll mention one thing that the first ever International Cricket match (which was also the first International sports event in modern times, decades before modern Olympics) was in 1844 played between Canada & US which Canada won.
Loved the reaction and the fact that you looked up that spirit of cricket thing. Just to add, captains are important, in case they disagree with a decision, They can review it by the television umpire, also known as the third umpire as two umpires are on field but for the batting side the decision to review lies with the batsman and not the captain.
@@CodyTheReactor Even though technically (because of the complex law of cricket) a batsman is out, If the opponent team captain thinks batsman is out due to unfair reasons, opponent team captain can call that batsman back.
The "Spirit of cricket" is a much debated subject within the game for the most part it is preferred (but not required) that a batter recognises they are out and voluntarily leaves the field however this is not often the case aside from when a batter is clean bowled by the bowler. In all other cases what normally happens is the fielding side 'appeals' to the umpire asking if the batter has been put out, you will hear this in that moment with the classic "How is that" or "Howzat". The umpire then makes a decision on that instance. With a number of different types of out, run out is often one of them, the umpire may refer to an off field umpire (third umpire) who then uses the technology of slow motion replays and the vision from cameras to determine the out. If the on field umpire makes a decision either the fielding team or the batter may then ask them to check that decision, again, using the third umpire to do so. The number of times the teams can do this is limited so as to not hold up the game to check every out. As Cricket has become more and more commercial the use of technology has increased which may or may not be a bad thing. Personally I am great believer in letting the on field umpire do their job and, most often than not, they get it right. Yes occasionally have absolute clangers of a decision however in the long run it balances out. Being an Umpire in cricket is a tough job and the people who do it are a dedicated bunch and deserve absolute respect for what they do.
Love your videos as always.❤️❤️❤️ Actually u r dad tried to tell u something which is quite right. Hitting the stumps dont get u out. U hv to dislodge at least 1 bail to get out.( Bails r the two woodn things on top of the stumps) wicket light up when bails r disconnected. If u hit the wicket and the bails didn't come off. That's not out. And plz mind when the ball goes squre to the wicket the fielder has only one stump to aim at.

It’s way harder when the fielder is square of the wicket too as they only have one stump to aim at etc Great to see you interested in a new sport, cricket is brilliant 👍
Captains are most important person in Cricket, they make all calls and decide everything on the field whom to give bowling, field settinge etc. Just like Managers in Baseball.
Basically the batsman has to ground his bat over the line to be 'in' before the wickets are broken. The bat could be over the line but if it's not touching the ground he can still be 'out'. Direct hit is neither here nor there .... that's a red herring. The important thing is that the bails (the short wooden pieces across the top of the wicket) have to come off for the batsman to be out. It doesn't matter how the ball gets to the wicket as long as the bails come off before the bat grounds behind the line. The flashing stumps are just there for the crowd and TV viewers in T20 and One Day Games which are cricket entertainments. The real game, Test cricket, doesn't have flashing stumps.
Slight caveat to this is if the bat grounds past the line but then bounces in the air. I believe if the bails are off after it is no longer touching the ground is no longer considered out. It was until recently but no longer would be (I think)
*That run out doesn't happen everytime. It's like one from 30 matches. Sometimes they throw whole day at stumps and it doesn't hit Wickets for once. These are the clips where did hit.
