I’ve had RUclipsrs talk about similar situations of being demonetized. It’s either big companies like Disney who feel like bullying random channels or RUclips itself just being dumb. They had to take their complaints to Twitter.

I remember watching your game reviews back when you were "TheShockSuspect" back in like 2009/2010. This is like, what your 5th channel now? TheShockSuspect, TheNintendoCritic, the short lived channel that had music mashups (I forgot the name, it was probably "Suspect Mashups" or something like that.), The Unusual Suspect and now Suspect Green. It's been a fun journey and you've definitely come a long way from reviewing random DS games online, I'm also curious about what this channel will have to offer.

Very much looking forward to the future of this channel! I actually found your ‘rambling’ about video essays/reviews very interesting as I myself do RUclips part time but the topics of the videos I make are very much niche and have a very specific dedicated fanbase, the videos of mine that get the most views (that are around 100k or so) are almost completely made up of returning viewers, and so something that I personally keep in mind is that you want to make content that people will rewatch, as there’s only so many views a video on Thomas the tank engine can get. The RUclips algorithm is a mind numbing yet fascinating place.
New reviews for a new era. I don't know TheAnimeMan, but he sounds on the mark. The olden days of reviews are over. If you wanna review a specific movie, seems you either gotta go Critical Drinker where you specifically review new movies and why you don't like them, or do those movie recaps.

The Power Rangers thing is absolutely weird because Hasbro, the current rights holders to the franchise has uploaded every single season of the show to RUclips for free (Admittedly based) But the fact they potentially got the old channel demonitized is really stupid and it clearly shows favouritism for corporations on RUclips's behalf
Thing is, I don't blame Hasbro. Worst they've ever done is put a copyright match on my video and taken away ad revenue for one video. It's sadly RUclips themselves that have demonetized the whole channel. Hasbro were comparatively chill with the videos. And many copyright notices of theirs I actually successfully appealed.

Your skits have always been great, but what I showed up for was usually the reviews. The reviews combined with the skits was the peak content of yours in my opinion The skits made me laugh. The reviews made me think. And the type of content you're describing is the type of stuff that I've really started Watching from others .videos that talk about ideas expressed not by one film but by many and not just by film but by any medium. Of story telling I'm excited to see where you go moving forward

My channel got demonetized for the same reason! Re-used content. It was a huge disappointment getting that e-mail. I was making movie compilation videos with and without copyrighted music for 10 years so I guess it's understandable. I've put this channel aside and have been working on finding other methods of payment online

I will miss the NC style reviews as that's how I found the Unusual Suspect channel, it was my favorite type of video you uploaded and I still enjoy that style of video to this day....but times have changed and it just ain't popular anymore unless you happen to cover a trendy topic. That said, I am still looking forward to the new format as the box office video was funny and I'm very curious about that TLOR video you have planned. Also sorry to hear that the old channel got demonetized, it's complete bullshit that RUclips doesn't tell you what videos violated their guidelines. Like at least have links to 5 or more videos so the uploader can understand what they did wrong otherwise they have to guess which runs the risk of repeating the issue. I don't understand why they're so vague when it comes to everything except for Copyright Claims. You even get a timestamp and are told what company has filed the claim, why can't other violations give similar feedback? It's infuriating. It is unfortunate that all the old content has been demonetised, as I still return to it every so often. Not getting any new mashups will hurt, as they were always entertaining. But... maybe there's a way to keep them going. After all, Sonic Prime and Cosmic Fury is a perfect match and you could do that justice. The new way forward with reviews seems like it'll be interesting, and from having already seen the superhero one, they are a lot of fun to watch. Great things are on the horizon with this new era of The Unusual Suspect. Best wishes!

Hey SUSPECT, long time fan, I've been subscribed to you on my other channel for at least a decade! I'm nowhere near as experienced with RUclips as you but I have a few ideas to improve the RUclips demonetize situation. 1: I remember you said that you couldn't take down your mash ups due to sponsorship contracts obligating you to keep them up, although is there any chance you could call up your sponsors and somehow negotiate it so that you can take them down? I feel as though your theory that the mash ups are causing the problems is the most likely reason. If you were able to take them down them then that could increase the chances of The unusual Suspect channel getting monetised again, which I think is worth a shot even if you still decide to stick with Suspect Green. If you successfully took down the mash ups and get your monetisation back, then at least you know for sure that the mash ups were the issue. 2:If that's not possible, then I think it's worth transferring all of your reviews to this channel so that they can be monetised again. Bonus idea for this (if you had time) was maybe in the end credits sequences for your old reviews, add the bloopers for the reviews (if you still have them) or add new green screen skits for that specific review. It could help make the reviews feel fresh again, and the audience watching the credits could help improve Watch Time. *HOWEVER*, if you successfully took down the mashups but your old channel remains demonetised, then that might indicate your channel was demonetised for a different reason, so transferring any of your old content would be risky in that case. 3:And to help get back on your feet and overcome RUclips's abuse, it might be worth hiring some editing help. This might be my weakest idea because I know your favourite part is editing and you probably can't afford to hire editors due to your current situation, but I think down the track if you were uploading content more often then it's worth hiring some help, even if it was small volunteer work doing simple RUclips shorts or something. I know you'd have some talented fans that love to help you out including myself (for what it's worth, I have some experience getting editing skits to go viral). That's my thought process on the situation. I don't know whether my ideas are good or not, but either way I'm really glad Suspect Green has gained so many subscribers in a relatively short amount of time otherwise we might not even be hearing from you again 😅 Keep up the good work!, glad you're back.

Jake Eyes faced the same "reused content" without explanation problem a few years ago and managed to get his channel re-monetised. Maybe you could try contacting creator support manually by email and get it fixed?

While it is a shame that stuff like "Cinema Sings" and the mashups are gonna be kaput, it's still nice to see you find what works for you, and it's good to see you back, and I can definitely say I'm excited to see that LotR video because I only knew about the Ralph Bashki movie, and that one Return of the King movie everyone brings up when saying "Yes, Ralph didn't finish the LotR trilogy" so it'll be cool to see stuff I haven't heard of before form this series.

Haha; thanks! It's actually been quite beneficial editing for Ray, I think my editing has improved. I looked back at an older video I made and noticed how slower my editing style was before. Now, I think its a bit snappier. Hopefully should help my own RUclips vids.

Despite the enjoyable nature of creating such content, the performance metrics of my videos have not met optimal standards.
Dear suspect: you're truly one of my favourite content creators across the board and I think it is because you have an especially talented eye and ear for what makes videos good and enjoyable. I think that your "palate," so to speak, is a rare and special thing. That would be enough to make you a perfect viewer, but instead you've pushed yourself further to create your own video content. Your dedication and bottomless efforts have made you truly one of the best creators I personally have enjoyed. I look forward to more of your work and it's beyond frustrating that youtube and their bullshit have stymied one of the most creative editors I've ever seen.

My channel got demonetized for the same reason! Re-used content. It was a huge disappointment getting that e-mail. I was making movie compilation videos with and without copyrighted music for 10 years so I guess it's understandable. I've put this channel aside and have been working on finding other methods of payment online
It’s going to be sad to say goodbye to the main channel, but HOLY FUCK I didn’t realize how many subs this channel had! I know 100k isn’t so big to many youtubers but I hope you take it as a sign of encouragement as a pretty good milestone. I hope that the YT algorithm is kind to you incorporating your new stuff alongside the shorts and wish the best of luck to ya!
I will miss the NC style reviews as that's how I found the Unusual Suspect channel, it was my favorite type of video you uploaded and I still enjoy that style of video to this day....but times have changed and it just ain't popular anymore unless you happen to cover a trendy topic.
That said, I am still looking forward to the new format as the box office video was funny and I'm very curious about that TLOR video you have planned.
Also sorry to hear that the old channel got demonetized, it's complete bullshit that RUclips doesn't tell you what videos violated their guidelines. Like at least have links to 5 or more videos so the uploader can understand what they did wrong otherwise they have to guess which runs the risk of repeating the issue. I don't understand why they're so vague when it comes to everything except for Copyright Claims. You even get a timestamp and are told what company has filed the claim, why can't other violations give similar feedback? It's infuriating.
Anyways, hope you're having a good day, it's nice to see you return to making videos. Also congrats on the editor opportunities, didn't know RWJ came back to RUclips as for a while he left to do his own thing.

It is unfortunate that all the old content has been demonetised, as I still return to it every so often. Not getting any new mashups will hurt, as they were always entertaining. But... maybe there's a way to keep them going. After all, Sonic Prime and Cosmic Fury is a perfect match and you could do that justice.
The new way forward with reviews seems like it'll be interesting, and from having already seen the superhero one, they are a lot of fun to watch. Great things are on the horizon with this new era of The Unusual Suspect. Best wishes!

Hey SUSPECT, long time fan, I've been subscribed to you on my other channel for at least a decade! I'm nowhere near as experienced with RUclips as you but I have a few ideas to improve the RUclips demonetize situation.
1: I remember you said that you couldn't take down your mash ups due to sponsorship contracts obligating you to keep them up, although is there any chance you could call up your sponsors and somehow negotiate it so that you can take them down? I feel as though your theory that the mash ups are causing the problems is the most likely reason. If you were able to take them down them then that could increase the chances of The unusual Suspect channel getting monetised again, which I think is worth a shot even if you still decide to stick with Suspect Green. If you successfully took down the mash ups and get your monetisation back, then at least you know for sure that the mash ups were the issue.
2:If that's not possible, then I think it's worth transferring all of your reviews to this channel so that they can be monetised again. Bonus idea for this (if you had time) was maybe in the end credits sequences for your old reviews, add the bloopers for the reviews (if you still have them) or add new green screen skits for that specific review. It could help make the reviews feel fresh again, and the audience watching the credits could help improve Watch Time. *HOWEVER*, if you successfully took down the mashups but your old channel remains demonetised, then that might indicate your channel was demonetised for a different reason, so transferring any of your old content would be risky in that case.
3:And to help get back on your feet and overcome RUclips's abuse, it might be worth hiring some editing help. This might be my weakest idea because I know your favourite part is editing and you probably can't afford to hire editors due to your current situation, but I think down the track if you were uploading content more often then it's worth hiring some help, even if it was small volunteer work doing simple RUclips shorts or something. I know you'd have some talented fans that love to help you out including myself (for what it's worth, I have some experience getting editing skits to go viral).
That's my thought process on the situation. I don't know whether my ideas are good or not, but either way I'm really glad Suspect Green has gained so many subscribers in a relatively short amount of time otherwise we might not even be hearing from you again 😅

Really happy that you found both a great job and a way to manage your own channel. I'm so sorry for all the crap that RUclips has been putting you through. Doing videos talking about multiple media is a great idea and I'm really looking forward to them. While I understand your decision to no longer do single movie/game reviews, I will miss them. Jake Eyes faced the same "reused content" without explanation problem a few years ago and managed to get his channel re-monetised. Maybe you could try contacting creator support manually by email and get it fixed?

I've been watching since you made your Parappa the Rappa review (not the reupload, like THE ORIGINAL) and I completely understand why you're going into this new direction, as a Caddy fan myself too, Variety show type content does tend to keep me more engaged, when you showed a clip from your Indiana Jones review in this video I realised I never saw it as I never seen Indiana jones 1 and didn't want it spoiled, so really I get it, good luck to you man

While it is a shame that stuff like "Cinema Sings" and the mashups are gonna be kaput, it's still nice to see you find what works for you, and it's good to see you back, and I can definitely say I'm excited to see that LotR video because I only knew about the Ralph Bashki movie, and that one Return of the King movie everyone brings up when saying "Yes, Ralph didn't finish the LotR trilogy" so it'll be cool to see stuff I haven't heard of before form this series.

Haha; thanks! It's actually been quite beneficial editing for Ray, I think my editing has improved. I looked back at an older video I made and noticed how slower my editing style was before. Now, I think its a bit snappier. Hopefully should help my own RUclips vids.

In my channel, I employ a diversified approach, engaging in a broad spectrum of content, encompassing reactions, reviews, gaming, and various other topics. Despite the enjoyable nature of creating such content, the performance metrics of my videos have not met optimal standards.

I think that your "palate," so to speak, is a rare and special thing. That would be enough to make you a perfect viewer, but instead you've pushed yourself further to create your own video content.
