Funny. Higher end sim gear becoming more affordable and yet, the graphics card I need to run these sims at high end graphics have become more expensive than entire PC's.
You can probably get away with much cheaper options and turn one or two settings down lower or off. The biggest bulk of graphics rendering are easily punched out by most low to mid range grahpic cards nowadays, and have been for a long time. It's those little things to "max out" that really cost. As always, the rule of diminishing returns applies.

Reggie M here from the FaceBook Sim Page. Another great (very detailed) video and glad you were able to get it out in time despite getting it 9 days after the other two. Just placed my order and looking forward to it.
If the final production model feels similar to this pre-production model out of the box I'd really appreciate a video showing how to get it feeling nice and smooth as I'm new to both Fanatec and DD wheelbases.
That's the only thing giving me cold feet personally. If production means this will be hit or miss with what is available it'd be a serious bummer. If their production line can churn out high quality pieces they've absolutely acquired a new customer.
@@boostedmedia what were the default settings out of the box? Was it grainy because natural damper, friction and inertia were turned off completely? I am worried because i plan to use mine without those settings when it arrives.
Looks like I'm getting this for Christmas 2021. I'm not a hardcore sim racer but I still enjoy sim racing occasionally and this price is just right. DD1 and other direct drives are way too expensive to justify playing occasionally.
@@austinbasiolli2705 Eh....ok? Define ”typical DD”. I’m guessing based on your comment you define a typical DD based on a certain torque threshold. Sorry, but DD and torque are not in any way related.

Thank you for this review Will. I'll have to wait for a PS licensed version since I need PS5 and PC compatibility but, I'm glad you're giving us the thumbs up. Coming from a G29.
The connector looks like a standard 4pin molex connector. voltage/current is the same as the CSL elite adapter, so maybe you can mod the csl elite adapter to power it.
I would not thrust a company so sloppy that would give away 8Nm for free 😁. Seriously, Fanatic is taking advantage of the moment and pull in as many as they can in the ecosystem. The low every point is symptom. I will pay €500 for a Thrustmaster 12Nm base.
@@youngstadan4999 None! So, I won't be buying a base anytime soon. I guess people get obsessed with torque, the more the better mindset. The market, including Yters, make us think that way.
Thanks for the honest comparison to the 2.5. I've been running one for 12 months and I've been more than happy with it coming from a T300. Great review lads.
Your technical knowledge of the entire chain of the product all the way from motor design through electronics, firmware, as well as car and racing knowledge, really elevates these kinds of videos from you. It's *super* informative, and so valuable for the viewers! Thanks, Will!
As always professionally presented content full of detail. Very exciting times with companies like Fanatec making Sim racing kit more accessible to the wider community..Great initial thoughts, looking forward to the full review.
I like that u took the responcibility to give feedback and observations about durability. Many future owners should be thankful for their long living wheelbases but they don't know to whom.
Lol will is such a nice guy! Every video he thanks us for supporting im like wait when did i hear him telling thank y’all and then im like oh yeah last video😂 will keep going goat
They could have used a slightly larger housing, made the power supply internal, and created two separate units. Then charge a small premium for dd over the csl and club sport models they replaced, and no one would be complaining. Instead they offer better value with the options, but we gripe about the cost of a power supply.
@@reklaw432 You're right. A power supply that could have just been the only PSU offered at a very minimal increase to a very competitive price. Offering it as an upgrade is nothing but another revenue stream and $230 for a PSU far exceeds the increase in BOM and R&D involved. The 'option' is completely unnecessary, it should just be 180w, 8Nm and we pay the middle ground between the two, They still would have made fistfuls of cash and the BOM would have decreased with the higher volumes of the materials for just the 180w PSU. At the higher premium for the 180w and 8Nm kit it still seems like a great value buy. It would have just been better if the 180w 8Nm version was the only option but it was $100AUD more instead of $230AUD more. That's going straight into gross profit.
I don’t understand why you were comparing it to the full on DD wheels, 1/3rd in the video you kept showing off about your ultimate. Should have compared it to the entry wheelbases where it belongs and how it compares to those.
If someone is on the market for a wheel in this price range, the choice is simple. I do have a TS-PC and upgrading is another question. Is the question. I believe it's not worth it. Fanatec wheels are very expensive - this product is out of place, out of time. Smells funny...
It's a no brainer that this is better than any wheelbase at its price range. Comparing it to other DD wheelbases is a better comparison as literally nothing else compares. If you are still using a controller, this is the only choice. If you are using a CSL Elite or equivalent or below, your only upgrade would be a DD. No point in buying a belt driven system when a DD is only $50 more. So the only question is if this is enough, and how it compares to stronger DD's.
@@jopereirapt Out of place? a Fanatec DD Wheel priced at 349+/- EUROS or a Thrustmaster TS-XW Servo base for 369 EUROS? How in the hell would go for a TS when there's a DD wheel for LESS MONEY!
@@itzanopinion That's what I meant. Fanatec DD is the only option for those with a entry level wheel, let's say a G29. For those like me, with a TS-PC wheel, is not worthwhile upgrading. The true is Fanatec is taking advantage of the market, with huge scarcity of IC and materials, to bring as many people as they can into their ecosystem. The supply will be short, expect many months without the wheel you just bought. RUclipsrs and influencers do their share praising the advantages of DD systems which I believe are placebos in most cases. They are superior, no doubt, but a nice to have, not a must have. And then, only a 12-15Nm will provoque me to upgrade, not the same 5Nm I already have. (a TM TS-PC is still a cheaper option considering base+wheel with the same features/buttons)
with 5nm i would suspect the life span of the unit will last longer as its using less strain on the motor, i can live with that, the boost kit in my opinion is if it needs more then its should have just been shipped as standard with the boost kit from the get go,its just another way for FANATEC to make more money. ive seen people on youtube with 8 and up and the unit along with the rig its bouncing all over the place cause friction wear and over working the shaft as well as the motor itself. for me 5nm is the sweet spot both in FFB and longevity of the product, i cant prove that without a doubt less FFB will not be as wearing as greater FFB on the shaft or the QR. my advice is stick with default FFB and dont push this too much the QR is not very durable as seen in many user videos and had to resort to putting electrical tape on the shaft which i think as a paying customer for a product out the box, you shouldn't have to do. on default with 5nm for 2 months of use ive experienced no cracks or slipping within the QR because ive looked after it and not pushed it too hard, thats my advice. note, as you can see the shaft is longer and thinner on the CSL than the DDR1 and DDR2 so your going have more strain on that shaft, as your hands will be pulling down on it whilst driving.5nm and default FFB is where i would advice people to keep it, sure your not getting what you want but the unit and the QR is going to last a whole lot longer and coming from thrustmaster and logitech,5nm is still a big improvement. tip. never overtighten the QR with the nuts or with the twist mechanism as it needs room to flex just touch tight, to tight and rigid will crack the QR,FANATEC tell you this and there not saying it for funsies.
Excellent video Will. That power supply. Au$260 is a bloody ripoff. My 750w PSU in my PC did not cost $260. It’s just wrong to take advantage of your costumers like that. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
Disappointed that Fanatec went with usb type C connectors on the unit. Would have preferred the studier usb 3.0 type B. This is not a thin smartphone or slim laptop to require such tiny, flimsy connectors that likely be the first thing to break, thus putting the unit out of service. Such is the way of mass market products prioritizing unnecessary aesthetics over functionality.
Of cause they will tell you that you will void the warranty with other power supply :) Because there are plenty of good 24V 160W+ on the market on budget price :)
Also because power supplies need to be ensured they're compatible with the connections. If you buy a crappy one and it blows out your wheel, Fanatec doesn't want responsibility. If you buy theirs, they've guaranteed it to work with the base.
@@MaianTrey Boost Kit 180 purchased as a separate upgrade: 149.95 EUR... It is too much for such guarantee :) Medical grade certified 24V power supply 220W costs half of this price :)

Awesome video once again brother 👍. As much detail as possible, this is why I watch Boosted Media. You guys ROCK 🤘. Thanks Will & Tom enormously. This is my question guys, how many of you are going for the 180 boost kit over the standard 90? 🤔 Forever Racing 🏁
I really fill like mabie they should have let one sim channel that is using wheels in the same price point do a comparison because respectfully you guys keep talking about coming down to the wheel and that's not what the wheel is targeting its meant to take out belt and gear driven wheels>>>> stepping up not down>>> and before u ask no not me! I don't have a channel and don't have a choice... its just both vids I've seen on this is talking about whether you would step down or not and that wouldn't make since for fanetec its made to make us smaller sim racers sell our Logitech and thrustmasters and go buy the wheel and I feel that that is the answer we r looking for.....Out side of this i love your videos and watch every time u upload and I must say that your wife can flat out out drive mine lmao!!!
There are two other first look videos with other perspectives, on Chris Haye and Gamermuscles. I think that way of doing things is great and each person will identify the things relevant to their use case thanks to these 3 videos.
@@def2412 I think what @babielexie is referring to is that Fanatec should have picked a sim racer that doesn't or has never used a DD wheel base, rather a gear or belt driven base, so we gear, belt driven base drivers can get a better perspective on the change from the gear, belt bases to the DD base. Like inertia, ffb, detail and overall performance, ect. ect. 😁
No, Fanatec is doing right. Get top RUclipsrs to say something good, but not bad (because it's not a production she'll base). People buy, get into the eco$y$tem and done.
@@SimRacerGT973 Fair enough, however Fanatec didn't the pick the reviewers, there was a poll where you could vote on their website. I own a TX and the main points for me, the feeling with little movements and also the nuances in long corners should be miles better. It will allow me to feel the car better and be more consistent. My take is, if you have less than CSW 2.5 or TS-PC, upgrade is very interesting, but for those high end belt driven wheels, it would be better to wait for the (rumoured) CSW DD at some point in the future
The carbon shaft is JUST MARKETING. This has a MINIMAL effect on rotational inertia, due to it being very close to the centre of rotation. What does have a large effect on rotational inertia?? THE ROTOR ELEMENT SIZE. They've put a smaller motor in & made it a selling point with the carbon shaft.
Thank you Will and Tom! I've been schooled! I feel so much more knowledgeable because of your coverage in all regards! I am still on the fence; however, Fanatec has given me time to completely evaluate this purchase due to the fact that I am not an existing customer and placed on the last order priority. I am looking forward to your post-production DD analysis.
Thanks for the dd1 vs DD CSL comparison. Would love a dd1 settings fundamentals course! Really overwhelming, looking forward to getting more out of my dd1!
Thinking the same. At the time I have the Thrustmaster TS-PC Racer with the Ferrari 488 challange rim. It's a 6nm base and a good one and i'm a little on the fence if the 8nm will be enough to feel that is a good upgrade. But on the other hand the pondium DD1 is more than double the money and as i'm not a hardcore racer from the point of hours i play (about 1-2 hours a day or every other) i can't justify the money
@@vfragos absolutely agree Vasilis, I race maybe once or twice a week during the summer, more so in the winter but still not hard core. Just placed my order along with a McLaren GT3 V2 wheel, thanks Will and Tom! This was a great preview, certainly one of the most complete preview videos I have seen on a sim gear. Can't wait.
Im so confused as to how those little silver things with the threads in them that slide into the slots on the base actually stay in there... wouldn't it just slide back out? What keeps it in? Am I being stupid? Probably. Anyone know how the little silver things stay in the slots and don't just slide back out?
Friction. Imagine you stand between two walls - you can walk around right? But if a screw goes into you and presses you against the wall you can't move anymore. This is also the reason why cars don't slide around. They get forced to the ground and the friction prevents them from sliding. Obviously if you run a bulldozer against the mounting it might move - but the T-Nut system is being used industry wide and is SUPER stable unless the screw itself loosens up.
I didn't knew the power of the G29 (~2.1nm from what I've seen) and I was worried about the power of the base version CSL DD but now that I know it's more than twice as powerful as my current wheel I went from cautiously excited to very, very excited and I have no doubt that I'll will upgrade to this as soon as I can.
Hey guys, great video, any chance you can make an updated video for the CS 2.5 regarding force settings? I see you guys talking a lot about dynamic range and bring up or down the window of forces, I have trouble setting this up so I can feel weight shifting and traction on this wheel.
Really wish this product was compared more directly to CSL Elite, Clubsport 2.5 and Thrustmaster wheel bases in this general price point area. They seem to be focusing on direct drive comparisons, but you're talking about a product that is 2x to 3x more than the price point for the CSL DD.
@@Andre-rt9qk I did, I meant throughout the majority of the video. It's already an extremely long video that could've been condensed down considerably and should've focused more on cost comparative wheel bases rather than other direct drive wheel bases with a blurb about comparison to high end choices at the end instead
I think the point is that you can’t compare them because dd is superior. The aim of the CSL DD was to change the mid-range market and as it obviously obliterates competition in that area because it’s so different, it isn’t fair to compare it to them.

@@jamiebaker8189 sounded more like they didn't live up to something three times the price. It's also still the same price point and is exactly what buyers with that budget are be going to comparing.
Simagic is now offering 20% off the M10, it brings the price of the M10 DDW and GT1 wheel to basically the exact same price as the CSL DD complete with the boost kit and one of Fanatec's more affordable wheel rims once you factor in shipping costs. At the same price point would you go with the M10 or the CSL DD?
Coming from a Fanatec CSR, 5nm will be a step up in detail and power. Good to know. I have to go 5nm initially. I'll get the BK180 later. Life got in the way. And while hovering over the option to add the BK180, my index finger twitched. Long story short, I have the BK180 on the way. :)
One thing: My CSL Elite PS4 base is silent (other than fan whirr) and the FFB is smooth and very, very good. If your CSL is as described in this video, then it is because FEI (and possibly FOR) is turned up too high. The CSL Elite is very sensitive to FEI and too high a setting causes rattling and knocking, both audibly and through the FFB.
I currently have a TS PC . would you say this CSL DD is a considerable upgrade over it ? my shifter and pedals are already fanatec. Or do you think i should keep my ts pc ? thank you
If it means also having to buy new pedals I’d say unless you can get a great second hand price maybe wait and see what happens with a CSW DD potentially. It’s not a “massive” upgrade from a TSPC, especially if you don’t plan to buy the boost kit.
@@boostedmedia thank you for your fast response. ill wait for the csw dd :) . but yeah i was planning to get the boost kit with the csl DD and since i already have V3 i wont need new pedals.

The extra force feedback from cornering would make a big difference to me and i'd rather save for another 12 months to get a dd1. They really do need to make something between this and a dd1
I get discouraged seeing the length of Boosted Media videos before watching but Will had SO MUCH useful information that I end up not minding. Being a subscriber, I know that Will likes using extreme high force and FFB compared to Joe average (7-8Nm). So keep that in mind and consider not waiting for another Fanatec offering between CSL DD and DD1!
I'm already on my CSL Elite wheelbase and generally quite happy with it. An upgrade doesn't really seem in order to be honest. Any opinions on that? Also: Would I have to upgrade cockpitwise? I got a GT Omega Wheelstand for my CSL Elite, which is doing the job nicely
I would upgrade, but I really hate the feeling of the gears and belt in non-direct drive wheels (indirect drive?). I suddenly see lots of CSL Elite wheelbases on the second hand market, so don't expect to get much more than 250 euro/dollar for it. Oh, in the video they said it fits the same rigs as the T-slot nuts can bet moved in any position.
Great review ! Thank you for this, you deserved to be chosen by the community. I own a CSW2.5 and was wondering to swap it for a CSL DD, but I had the same thoughts as yours, you just confirmed them : I'll wait for a "CSW DD" in a range between this CSL DD and DD1, or maybe a DD1 price drop (but I thinks it's less plausible).
@ My csw2.5 died on me that's why I upgraded to simucube instead of a DD1/DD2, wait until your 2.5 dies and then get a real upgrade instead of a stepping stone, those are my 2 cents
Thanks because the first video in which speaks about the mounting on a wheel stand. I'm happy to see that you can update a CSL elite without drilling your stand plate...
Ok but here's the REAL question guys .. if they fill the gap between the [boosted 8NM] new CSLDD at around $5xx.xx and the DD1 stays at a price point of $1,100 , and the DD2 is unnecessary power at not needed prices.. would buying a dd1 podium (the blue ps4 version with 20nm peak) bundle for $1,700 end up giving you more value over the long run? They can only make a 9-20nm product at a price range that is between $6xx to -> $1,100.. is that even worth the difference in price at that point?? Am I missing something in the product lineup or are these guys just going to release one more CSLDD thats ps4/5 licensed for like $700 and call it a day for a year or two?
I’m literally brand new to racing games after just buying GT7 for my PS5. I’ve got a £400 budget (ideally less) for a steering wheel setup. Should I get Logitech G923 or is there a good used Fanatec market? Any help would be amazing?
First top high level device tgan you sad G27 upgrade. What are you guys talking about? 500€ only a base, plus 400-500€,£,$ for wheel? 1000 bucks is not a cheap. Ps No pedals included. A terible review
Thanx for the total review of this wheel base.I also have much respect for you two gentlemen as when you two have a difference of opinion you both do so with respect for each other.
Recently recieved my GT DD Pro and it excaclty feels the way you described around 50min. There is some weird kicky/clunky feel through the wheel at random times. Cant really tell when and where it happens. May I ask for a decent setup to solve the issue ? Using it on PC ACC. I already thought I recieved faulty base.
By the end of the year the competition will surely release a steering wheel with the same force Nm or even more and certainly less expensive because there it is necessary to count at least 700 € with a mid-range wheel, without gear lever without pedals and without handbrake and of course without chassis. IMPORTANT TO KNOW! if you pre-order the pack with the power supply to have 8 nm it will cost you more than 500 € and the basic power supply (5 nm) will not be with it. Pay a production 6 months in advance for a product that only affiliated RUclipsrs can take advantage of and well I think it's "a heist"
Now this is coming out and I'm stuck with my second replacement TSXW that's making bloody noises again! ,I really like the Thrustmaster Rims but quality control is bullshit , my new sf1000 rim (the new ferrari one ) I just got already has dead pixels on screen ,but replacements are nowhere atm, maybe in a year or so I'll be able to try a DD fanatec wheel perhaps (rims cost is still high though ) TSXW is 6nm btw but maybe less jarring to base due to belt driven?
fantastic and very detailed review, thank you very much. been thinking about this one, since the trailer. probably going to upgrade my csl elite wheel to this one with the McLaren Wheel, so the exact setup you did the test :)
How is this wheel mounted?? I am looking to buy a simrig with this wheel and a Track Racer TR80. Would you reccomend getting the DD1/DD2 mounted version (+50 EUR) or the standard one?
It's shit that they charge so much extra just for a power supply and give it a fancy name like 'boost kit'. Just sell it with the bigger power supply. But for me, i want to get back into sims. Last time I played sims was back in the mid 2000s-2010. Fanatec have come a long way since then (i think they only had a belt driven wheel back then?). I still have a logi G25 sitting the garage but the usb cable is fucked so i couldn't get it to work. It's too bad this is coming out in november. I'd love to pick this up now. It's a bit expensive to jump into from scratch though. Need a base, wheel, and pedals. Not entirely sure what to do until this comes out. Maybe i could learn how to solder and try and get the old g25 working until i wait for this lol.
You dont seem to ever have any gripes or complaints about any of the products you review. Alot of the products you praise end up having known issues you often skip over. I cant help but feel my shill detector going off on this channel. Usually you can look at production values alone and make a good gut guess in 20 seconds, but here it seems pretty objectively evident.
They aren't selling the csl elite anymore or the cswv2.5 anymore only the dd wheels mo pre orders and no more stock only the dd wheels from here on out it looks like lol so yesh the future you were talking about of those bases seems they have no future lol says on both the csl elite and cswv2.5 therr is no more stock and there will be no pre order on these items lol
I bought a CSL DD and boost kit. The unit was faulty when it was delivered. I had to return the boost kit and DD. Took them 15 days to replace it. Only problem was they only sent the boost kit , so still waiting for a CSLDD that I have never been able to use. My last purchase from Fanatec.
This is it, im getting a new setup when ive saved up a bit, my G920 is so worn out after 3 years, it started disconnecting at random.. Not to mention the lack of detail makes me go crazy, i need something way better.. Only thing that annoys me, is the lack of dimensions on the actual products on their site? Im strapping this thing onto my desk, so i would like to know wether to get the clubsport mount or the DD mount. Depends on how much space it takes and how far up the wheel will be placed, my table is quite tall..
the only thing I hate about What Fanatec did here is how you have to buy a separate power supply just to get the 8nm which would make it more compelling if it just came with it normally and not $260 for a basic power supply that prob costs $30 from China lol
Clipping is way overrated. On my DD1 I honestly can't tell the difference, unless of course you are clipping while not driving over curbs, grass, impacts, etc. but the reality is 8nm is probably more than enough dynamic range to get all the fidelity you need without clipping while keeping it on the smooth portion of the track. I am happy to be able to go over curbs and impacts and still not clip but at the end of the day it really has no effect or difference on the driving experience.
Sorry for asking but i'm rly new . If i buy the wheelbase what else do i need in order to install a rim on it . For example i wanted to buy the wheelbase with the clubsport drift rim but i cant understand if i need something extra in order to install the rim to the wheelbase.I've heard that i need the universal hub forthe fbb to work. Is that rly the case? cuz that makes it 350+ another 200 which is 550 wihout a rim plus the shipping close to 600
Cool! EVERYTHING I needed to know about the new DD! Gonna go with "standard" first and will upgrade to boosted power once my wallet has recovered again! Thanks guys! 👍
The power supply thing is a complete rip off, it would literally cost no more to manufacture the 90 and 180w supplies, so why do an Apple and try and rip your customers off this way.

Absolutely will do!
That's the only thing giving me cold feet personally. If production means this will be hit or miss with what is available it'd be a serious bummer. If their production line can churn out high quality pieces they've absolutely acquired a new customer.

Looks like I'm getting this for Christmas 2021. I'm not a hardcore sim racer but I still enjoy sim racing occasionally and this price is just right. DD1 and other direct drives are way too expensive to justify playing occasionally.

Coming from a G29.
It's been two years, my friend. Did you ever end up getting gt dd pro that came out?
Looking forward to not being able to buy one later in the year!
The connector looks like a standard 4pin molex connector. voltage/current is the same as the CSL elite adapter, so maybe you can mod the csl elite adapter to power it.
Do you believe in fairy tails? Me neither.
Are you willing to risk that on a $400 piece of equipment?
I would not thrust a company so sloppy that would give away 8Nm for free 😁.
Seriously, Fanatic is taking advantage of the moment and pull in as many as they can in the ecosystem. The low every point is symptom.
I will pay €500 for a Thrustmaster 12Nm base.

Seems great and certainly value for a DD wheel but. $230AUD for a 180w PSU does seem like someone is taking the mickey.
They could have used a slightly larger housing, made the power supply internal, and created two separate units. Then charge a small premium for dd over the csl and club sport models they replaced, and no one would be complaining. Instead they offer better value with the options, but we gripe about the cost of a power supply.
@@reklaw432 companies have a main directive: make money. They're paving their road, not yours.☹️
Thank you for this very complete and sincere review, just as I love for doing the right decision 👍🏻
Must be so cool to get your hands on with all this gear and hit the track testing them all.
Thanks for both of your reviews on the DD, I've now ordered a CSL DD with the boost kit, ,and McLaren GT3 rim, looking forward to getting it!
with 5nm i would suspect the life span of the unit will last longer as its using less strain on the motor, i can live with that, the boost kit in my opinion is if it needs more then its should have just been shipped as standard with the boost kit from the get go,its just another way for FANATEC to make more money.
ive seen people on youtube with 8 and up and the unit along with the rig its bouncing all over the place cause friction wear and over working the shaft as well as the motor itself.
for me 5nm is the sweet spot both in FFB and longevity of the product, i cant prove that without a doubt less FFB will not be as wearing as greater FFB on the shaft or the QR.
my advice is stick with default FFB and dont push this too much the QR is not very durable as seen in many user videos and had to resort to putting electrical tape on the shaft which i think as a paying customer for a product out the box, you shouldn't have to do.
on default with 5nm for 2 months of use ive experienced no cracks or slipping within the QR because ive looked after it and not pushed it too hard, thats my advice.
note, as you can see the shaft is longer and thinner on the CSL than the DDR1 and DDR2 so your going have more strain on that shaft, as your hands will be pulling down on it whilst driving.5nm and default FFB is where i would advice people to keep it, sure your not getting what you want but the unit and the QR is going to last a whole lot longer and coming from thrustmaster and logitech,5nm is still a big improvement.
tip. never overtighten the QR with the nuts or with the twist mechanism as it needs room to flex just touch tight, to tight and rigid will crack the QR,FANATEC tell you this and there not saying it for funsies.
Woooooo! Yeaaaah baby! This is what I've been waiting for!
Excellent video Will.
That power supply. Au$260 is a bloody ripoff. My 750w PSU in my PC did not cost $260. It’s just wrong to take advantage of your costumers like that.

well made review!! You can tell the amount of effort and knowledge put into it.
These videos must take you days to plan, put together and edit.
The stuff didn’t arrive until Wednesday lunchtime. We worked non stop with no sleep from then until it went live.
@@Propeler3D I'm with you. If I want to get the 'upgrade' later I'll wait until enough people do the DIY route to know which power supplies don't cause problems lol. I'm just saying from a company stand point, there's no way they can accept liability for something that is so easy to mess up.

Amazing video!!! Well done! I want one of these so bad. I'm sure its a big step up from my Thrustmaster TX.

Well deserved Will! Thank you for the review.
I didn't knew the power of the G29 (~2.1nm from what I've seen) and I was worried about the power of the base version CSL DD but now that I know it's more than twice as powerful as my current wheel I went from cautiously excited to very, very excited and I have no doubt that I'll will upgrade to this as soon as I can.
there's a booster kit that adds another 3 nm to the dd aswell which i like you can get the dd and then upgrade it more if you need to
You missed 1 vital component to your review. A DD Rap 🤣
Hey guys, great video, any chance you can make an updated video for the CS 2.5 regarding force settings? I see you guys talking a lot about dynamic range and bring up or down the window of forces, I have trouble setting this up so I can feel weight shifting and traction on this wheel.
So...who's gonna be making an aftermarket 180W PSU for this thing? $150 is ludicrous.
Ima see the video right now. I hope the csl dd is good !
Really wish this product was compared more directly to CSL Elite, Clubsport 2.5 and Thrustmaster wheel bases in this general price point area. They seem to be focusing on direct drive comparisons, but you're talking about a product that is 2x to 3x more than the price point for the CSL DD.
you didnt watch the video to the end, didnt you?
@@Andre-rt9qk I did, I meant throughout the majority of the video. It's already an extremely long video that could've been condensed down considerably and should've focused more on cost comparative wheel bases rather than other direct drive wheel bases with a blurb about comparison to high end choices at the end instead
I think the point is that you can’t compare them because dd is superior. The aim of the CSL DD was to change the mid-range market and as it obviously obliterates competition in that area because it’s so different, it isn’t fair to compare it to them.

@@tau3457 Great! Very helpful answer

What sim is the one where you can see the old cars? With the Mclaren F1 GTR etc.?

Will do you think its worth upgrading sideways from a club sport 2.5 to this?
You dont seem to ever have any gripes or complaints about any of the products you review. Alot of the products you praise end up having known issues you often skip over.
I cant help but feel my shill detector going off on this channel. Usually you can look at production values alone and make a good gut guess in 20 seconds, but here it seems pretty objectively evident.
Can you guys please share your ,,fine tuning” seutup? I can feel that grain too…
Amazing review!. The fundamental course video would be amazing, since the CSL DD will be my new wheelbase.
They aren't selling the csl elite anymore or the cswv2.5 anymore only the dd wheels mo pre orders and no more stock only the dd wheels from here on out it looks like lol so yesh the future you were talking about of those bases seems they have no future lol says on both the csl elite and cswv2.5 therr is no more stock and there will be no pre order on these items lol
can i use another company's pedals with this or do i have to use fanatec pedals?
14:00 I hope the Power Supply Boost(?) Kit at $149.95 😵 is not just a marketing element, because watch out for the class action!
Fidelity....where did i hear that word recently mmm let me think....ahhh the Fanatec official QA.
Is that rly the case? cuz that makes it 350+ another 200 which is 550 wihout a rim plus the shipping close to 600
great review, especially info about the boost kit! Do you think that the basic, 5Nm version will work well with Playseat Challenge?
