- California Attorney General Rob Bonta joins 'Squawk Box' to discuss the state's lawsuit against Exxon Mobil, alleging deception about plastics recycling, the problems with the company's advanced recycling approach, and more.
She works for Exxon Mobile!
I hope he isn't the lawyer that's going to be arguing the case.
Acknowledging that advanced recycling turning plastic into fuel is better than landfills or doing nothing doesn't hurt the case he's trying to make. Why not acknowledge that something is better than nothing and then focus on the "something" that Exxon is doing not being what they advertised?
Yeah, but the female kept focusing on that and trying to twist the percentages up. bonta screwed up by saying that jet fuel doesn't count. He refocused that it was only 1 percent. And I bet it's only 1 percent bc then Exxon can tout there green wash even though it's an insignificant percentage. I'm sure 1 % is still a crap ton in volume.
She's okay being lied to. I'm sure it happens in her personal life too.
Wow the numbers are a lot smaller than I expected. only 8%
New Yorkers just started putting their trash in bins. They were dumping bags of trash on the sidewalks before that.
he should not talk about only 5% is being recycled, what is being done and what could be done are two different things, and Exxon was talking about what could be done, in fact could be done easily. In every country there are 4 types of trash bins, one for metal, one for plastic, one for paper and one for general trash...US has only 2 bins....first start having 4, and may be even 5.. one for stiff plastic and one for thin plastic sheets..like shopping bags etc... Filing suit on Exxon is easy.. and Govt always does the easy part and expects companies and people do the tough job... in fact Govt has no right even to expect Exxon to tell the truth or most of it..Govt with all the machinery available to them, should cover everything by Regulation.. and companies can be held responsible for deviating from Regulations without explicit permission for doing so...(because it is not possible to stick to regulations 100% without any deviation because of technical reasons, and companies can then take it to the notice of Govt and seek slight deviations from the Regulations)
This was a pecking party and damn, Big Oil is just really paying off a lot of people, right
Yes jet fuel is also bad folks. Emits worse GHG emissions. We should have a circular economy.
This is an obvious hit job
I hope more states sue Exxon over their false recycling claims.
If you can’t explain your argument on live television, how are you going to explain it to a jury?
Burning it as jet fuel is not recycling
If he had just brought 100 used plastic bottles with him, he could have used them as a graph to prove his point.
exxon that duplicitous dirty dog. exxon your forever chemical friend. exxon, it'll GROW on you. all good things have gotta come to an end.
A thumbs down for the newscasting team. They seem to be a bit slow, confused, and corporately tied? Trying to defend Exxon Mobile CNBC?
You guys should be journalists not spokespersons for Exxon. Let them defend their position
She’s not allowed to bring facts to her guest?
Exxon wins. This guy is awful
Come to think of it, I could use some more serving utensils....off to the Dollar Store!!! >........................................:)
...my math says about 90% of plastics are Not recycled in any way.....if this is correct, God Bless Us ALL!?!/lol........PeaceOneLove!
"you flew here though" absolutely spanked him
California need Money ?
Becky destroyed him
This guy... I swear... Gavin and his crew ugh. Logic vs. emotion - Exon wins
Climate Freaks 😆😅😂🤣
Mr. Bonta uses data to back up CA's suit-excellent.
This guy is really bad at explaining anything. He is making 0 sense because he is not able to answer single question. I heard the whole thing and I hear blah blah bl…
california just retaliating because of ExxonMobil shareholder lawsuit in Texas lol
Personal consumer accountability
I hope this lawsuit lasts longer than Rob Bonta’s career in politics because he needs to resign and work on his soccer, cannabis and mail order Filipino mother business with Yale.
