if they are mids, then I'll be giving them bass, but not sub. The FaitalPro sounds pretty good, and so does Timpano. But, Timpano has a thump bass, and Faital sounds more like real bass. --Out scream? Probably, but at higher power consumption. I'm sure Faital can easily produce a speaker that is 200 RMS. But, then the question is, do I have 200 RMS X 4? No. Because I'm no going to buy that amp. So, that's one of the problems with Timpano, and it isn't realized, to me anyway, until considering that most people listen low-moderate volumes and most speakers sound the best when pushed up to their limits. Which means that the Timpano would have to be screaming like hell, while Faital will sound good even at lower power.
I am confused. You are testing MIDBASS drivers, correct? Midbass is 350hz down. Voices shouldn't be your testing source. Upper bass kick drums is your best choice. So the Dayton should perform really well as a midbass driver.
Comparing speakers on a table and not loading them in some kind of enclosure proves nothing. There is this apparently little known, set of equations know as the "Thiele/Small parameters". They've been around for almost a hundred years, you might want to look them up.
