- In my stay at Hotel Icon (Hong Kong), I found that they stock each and every room with a Bose SoundLink Mini 2. And it sounded so good that I wanted to buy one for myself. But since I can't find one in the stores around Hong Kong...

I have it. I also had the first gen. This is why I don't own the Sonos roam.
I have the Bose Soundlink Mini II SE, it is a wonderful speaker !
Soundlink Mini 2 placed few centimetres from the wall to boost the sound is so good, it's hard for me to justify buying pricier, stronger sound system. If only it could be paired into stereo setup, it would be perfect.
Yeah. There’s a bass radiator to the rear. Passive one. So backing it up against a wall works wonders
How does it compare to the Sonos roam?
I’ve heard good things about this speaker. Wondering how this compares to the newer Bose Soundlink Flex
I should head to a Bose store.
Soundlink Flex is a slight step up soundwise (it also should be given the larger footprint). It has no AUX input anymore though. And I assume that its more difficult to replace the battery (that is actually pretty simple on the Soundlink Mini).
Also I liked the build quality with the aluminium more compared to the Soundlink Flex.
But the Soundlink Flex is waterproof and perhaps more rugged and suitable for Outdoor use (But how often do you use your speaker in pouring rain).
So … it depends … the Soundlink Mini used to be THE Standard bluetooth speaker that others were compared against for years. And it still performs great today. Soundlink Flex is still good but the competition has caught up.
