This movie is the reason i wanted to attend an HBCU at such an early age and i found out recently that the Frat speaking is one my parents. Go head Dr. ROSS!!! 006!!
Whats so ICEY about this is OUR pledge club, the sphinxmen in the background holding the ICE ICE BABY sign. Spring 1996 right here baby! But yeah, Fall 82, etc...whew... 6-NS-96 (6 as in Sphinxman #6) Sadistic
Great observation pidouble 145 on noticing the dates! YES, the ICE ICE BABY chant was (and still is) a chant of the Brothers of A PHI A (nation wide) waaay before Spike Lee's movie came out; and certainly waaay before Vanilla Ice's copied it and made it into a song!!!
School Daze is a all right movie. I loved seeing the movie. Great actors and actresses playing the role of Hbcu students. It reminds me of my social experiences at ORU the same time (Fall 1987).
Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the time there was no Fraternities and Sororities at ORU (except for those people who "pledged secretly"). To make up for it every dormitory floor had a nickname and every male or female students would fellowship, eat together and play sports with they're "brothers and sisters" at each floor. Many "brother wings" or "sister wings" got so popular on and off campus they became like famous clubs or, Fraternities and Sororities. Famous club names: Edge, Ledge, Youngblood, Gucci, L.A., DOLS, Remnant, Rock. Good memories 😎🙏😎 Azusa Street Men Member Alexander Thompson ❤ 5-10-2024
naw, man, your assumptions are wrong. There are plenty of reasons why I like the alphas more than the ques, KAY, and the sigmas. And I have at least everyone of the frats in my family, so my ppls have nothing to do with it.
I'm a huge fan of the Alphas, but will only do grad chapter though. I dont care who knows. But I like what they stand for and respect them more than any other greeks. I have a long list of Alphas in my family.
This was my first insight to Black Greeks.
I was blown away.
the hugest smile on my face watching this..MEMORIES!!!!
I’m Blu Phi but got respect for those brothers!
Respect to Phi Beta Sigma from a old school Alpha (Spring 1992)

Sadistic
One of my bigger regrets in life is being in a gang rather than fraternity as this my favorite part of one of my favorite movies.
❤
I am TOO proud to know that these are my prophytes! 6-AP-13
I didn't know that the "Ice Ice Baby" line was made up by them. Vanilla Ice made the song Ice Ice Baby a year after this movie came out.
That's right! 🤙🏽
Culture vulture
He was over 90 years too late
If you know. You know. But the song was written by a Black guy to begin with.
I am a member of ALPHA PHI ALPHA fraternity, Inc, Fall 1997. YO, this movie inspired me. Now I'm doing the ice ice baby.
I see they got A-Rho in the building... Morehouse represented well in this one!! I'm proud to be a Morehouse man!! This shit is classic!!
